Great to see the greats wobble after a break too, the stumbles, the neeearlys. This rad dad's going to nail switch, 180 and maybe 360 this season. Would still looove to come to a camp too exchange rates permitting.

Last season I ignored leg day and instead of fitness, I focussed on studying flow state. I figured I'd cover the 80% confidence aspect plus I didn't want my legs to be too strong so I would get away with poor technique for longer. I found, if my legs ached at all, I was too far back and could adjust keeping the leg effort to a minimum. It seemed to work but I'm no ski instructor so it was more a stab in the dark that gave me the impression it worked

What exactly do you mean by „flowstate“? And how did you Cover it? Any tipps? Thank you :)

@@iNoobishh flow state is a natural feature of the mind enabling us to perform seemingly superhuman feats at critical times. You may have experienced it falling off a bike, when time slows down. Effectively it is the brain stopping all noise and only accessing information relevant to that situation. It enables us to fight off sabre toothed tigers in the heat of the moment as long as there is focus rather than freeze-up response. the Flow Genome Project is really good information and Steve Kotler has written a number of good books on it. It basically allows us to really push progression by using focus and pushing to about 104% of our ability on a regular basis. Just think how that 4% adds up over time! It is a bypass for the classical 10,000hrs rule. the real key is having focus on the situation and that it should take you a bit out of your comfort zone and there should be some sort of consequence. It should be noted that group flow is even more powerful (it's what the climbers at camp 4 used to really push the limits and progression of climbing back in the 70's but likely didn't realise it. Group flow is about working together as a group to push your performance which is why there is so much more benefit in appreciating and praising everyones progression within a group. The group progresses together when the group supports each other. It is also quite addictive because of the neurochemical combination within the brain giving a real rush. People who don't understand it would use the phrase "adrenaline junkie" when ironically, that's the one neurochemical we don't like but it is the one that keeps us safe. I'd suggest starting with "The Rise of Superman" and go on from there as it is a great insight into the fundamentals of flow state along with some great case studies (eg Shane McConkey amoung many) of how it has been used to really accelerate progression in adventure sports. I am not sponsored by the flow genome project and have no financial ties to any of the authors or publishers, it's just something that's helped me along the way
