    We own a 2011 Ranger XLT super cab, 4X4, 6 ft bed, tow pkg, etc.
    I added a K&N intake and a 3” FlowMaster exhaust, rear air shocks, spray in bed liner, wheels, and had it 2 toned. It’s now silver over red metallic.
    With 70# of air in the shocks and fully loaded with the cruise set on 75mph, we consistently got 25 mpg on a trip last year coming from the family farm in MT back to our home in north central WA state.
    The engine is a 4.0 with a 5 spd automatic transmission.
    This is our 4th Ranger. We’ve been driving Ranger’s since the 80s.
    I’m sure this will be the last truck we’ll ever buy, as we only use it for work around our property hauling gravel, dirt, top soil and compost.
    With the 50# of air in the shocks and 50# of pressure in the tires, I can haul just over a yard in the bed.
    Even though our Ranger will soon be 12 years old, we only have 34K miles on it.
    We do work it, but we don’t abuse it.

  • @RossMalagarie

    Diving Sports TV if you are worried about banging up the bed do like I do and get a BedRug, about $400, that way your entire bed is covered with a synthetic impact resistant rug, all the way up the sides and the bottom, and then put a raised edge model specific plastic liner about $200 to contain liquids and to keep the dirt out of the rug for easy cleaning all you need is a blower for dry dirt and if you get mud or liquids in it just pull the liner out, its not connected only by the shape and hose it out and dry and put back in. Basically the same design as a interior floor liner inside your truck to keep the dirt out your carpet, just dump the dirt out, hose out, dry, and put back in.

    There are a ton of 90s-2000s Rangers cruising around my town on the daily. People still put them to good use. My best friend works from home so he only drives occasionally, and a random grandpa just gave him a '98! After some work in the shop it runs great. With today's extremely thin paint, the spray on liner is a must if you actually use the truck as a truck, most people don't use their trucks as trucks so the $500 cost savings I guess is ok to them. I had the bed of my 08 Tundra Rhino Lined the day after I bought it...that was the first truck I'd ever had the bed Rhino Lined...I'll be doing that in the future to other trucks if I ever get another one. My 88 F250 had the plastic drop in liner, I took that thing out several years ago...those things trap dirt between the bed and liner and will destroy your truck bed and you'll never know till its too late.

      @ALMX5DP 2 года назад +4

      @@mabelpup8502 yes way. I mostly throw wheels/tires, tool boxes, camping type gear and such in mine for racing events, so the soft material helps them to stay put and it's also great when i jump up and move things around since putting a knee down on it is just like padded carpeting. Also acts like a little sound deadening, so stuff that does move around a little doesnt really bother. I wasnt too worried about it scuffing up the paint underneath either since I have an F-150 so the aluminum bed wont corrode like a steel one might. If i decide later to get a spray-in liner I can still do that, and any scuffs wont really matter since it would be sanded down anyways.

    Great video and review sir..you are always fair! I bought the 2022 ranger tremor xlt package and it's far better than I ever expected! 22 mpg in town and 23.8 on hwy, it handles great has more than enough power and with 5000lbs towing you don't even know it's behind you! I can't think of anything major I would change except it would have been nice if Ford put trailer brake on it from the factory, however the dealer can add it in about an hour for $350.. finally if you're a Tacoma owner I suggest you test drive the tremor and if you're honest you will see the TACO is out of its League with the tremor and it's not even close that's the truth! Ford will take back the midsize truck market for sure!

    Honestly the lack of cameras and modern features is why I picked the Nissan Frontier Pro-4X over the Ranger Tremor. The Ranger had an amazing ride quality, better than the Frontier, but the quality of life features in the Frontier were so much better. The Frontier was the best mix of on road comfort and quality of life, but the ranger was a close second. No other midsize trucks come close to those two in that regard. The Tacoma is obnoxious in it's ride quality and the Colorado felt overly stiff and lacked the tech of even the Ranger. If all I did was off-road I'd take a Colorado, but like a lot of people I mostly commute, so ride quality was my main concern. I felt like the Frontier gave me the best of both, but I can see why you'd choose the Ranger, especially if your towing a lot. Just get the bed liner next time. :D

    Re choice: Not a surprise, because of payload, towing capacity, brakes, 10speed transmission, seating comfort.... that's why I chose the Ranger over the more popular Tacoma in 2021. As for waiting for the next iteration, it looks good and I'm excited about it, but theres nothing killer about it that I can see as compared to current generation. Both situations are money well-spent for your RUclips channels. However, where your channel could still improve is in regards to the land development. Love my 2021 Ranger Tremor, I’ve owned many Rangers all years, by far the best, sure it’s new and low low miles, time will tell, I have to say my 1996 ranger that I still drive is awesome, though adding a 8.8 4.11 Trac Loc has made the diff on the little 2.3l 5speed it came with. I may swap a Mustang eco-2.3 7speed into the 1996! As for the tremor, only issue that I’m used to from other 4x rangers is the factory tires do rub on turns, a leveling kit will fix it. Love it if they actually had the E-locker for the ranger with the upgraded front axle, I spoke to the company that makes them in Australia and there is no kit available yet!

The courier was its own sub-compact Mazda B-Series truck rebadged as a Ford. The Courier production was dropped after the 1982 model year as the compact Ranger debuted in 1983. The Courier name is still used but not in the US, however they should take a look at the global Courier again as an option in the US as a regular cab pickup with no frills.

    I was about to praise your choice right up till the moment you said you have to sell it back in 10 months. 🤣 Which any other comment about bed liners and what not is pointless now. If I were in a need a work truck to do that kind of work, I might have just bought an F150 XLT 4x4. Btw, I like how you worked in praise for the missed 4R TRD OR. 😂 You keep saying things like that, odds are I will NEVER sell mine. 😏 (it has not crossed my mind to do so even once in the 4 years I have owned it)

    Regarding those General Grabber ATX tires, for a year I've had that model on my all-wheel-drive compact SUV (VW Tiguan). I like to explore mountain dirt roads whenever I get a chance, in WA state, and I wanted an all-terrain tire for both traction and resistance to flats especially sidewall cuts. I've been very happy with the General's on-road and off-road. It seems like for a Ranger the only way to improve on them would be with a set of BFGoodrich KO2's.
    And, yes, I would love to be in a position to buy a Ranger Tremor just like yours. Maybe in a couple years.....

    Spray in bed liner and fender liners should be standard on anything with a bed. The Ranger engine is very strong at 270 hp 310 tq, but the next gen will have to be pretty impressive to compete with the GM twins at 310/390 or 310/430 in the ZR2 should be fun!

    • @xzaviuraurai
      @xzaviuraurai 2 года назад

      Only the Raptor Ranger nxtgen will be better - 390+ HP. I don’t remember the rest other than it will be a V6 as well. Lesser trims should be high 200s to low 300s.

      I seem to be in the minority considering I prefer the look of this one over the new 2023 coming out. I wasn't a fan of the front of the Maverick and I was kind of let down to see they doubled down and made the Ranger look almost exactly like it. 🤷

    I got the 21 ranger XLT fx2, infotainment is really outdated and camera only for reverse is sad. Bed is really thin metal and scratches and dents real easy. I will get the bed liner sprayed soon.
    Having driven f150s I like the Rangers smaller footprint for parking and turn radius. Backseat has good room for most sized people too. Maverick is a city truck, Ranger checks all the boxes. My only regret is not getting the 4x4.

    Great choice, very much unexpected. Would be cool if you could do a direct comparison to a regular fx4 or even a slightly modified one to see the differences the tremor package really brings to the table
    Edit: also this current generation of ranger is actually the 5th, and I believe it originally came out globally in like 2015 or so

    Spray in bed liners look absolutely terrible once they get dirt on them. Impossible to clean.
