    You can use muammarah in other dishes too. It makes a great pesto-like dressing for pasta dishes, you can use it to add flavor to tuna or egg salad, it works as a sandwich spread, and I’ve even used it in deviled eggs. It’s very versatile and delicious, and it’s so easy to make. I like your recipe the best, as the others I’ve tried were garlicky and hid the delicate walnut flavor.

    • @MiddleEats
      @MiddleEats  3 года назад

      Pomegranate molasses has a sweet, sour and fruity flavour. I'd suggest making some yourself from pomegranate juice, if you can get it. I did a video for it a few weeks back and I show how to make/use it. Cranberry juice and molasses may work, but it would probably be better to do cranberry and sugar. It won't really taste the same though.

    ...You...don’t...geez, dude, just find someone to taste it on-camera for you! 😳 Our entertainment is not worth you going through anaphylactic shock!

      I volunteer as tribute. Unfortunately, I'm sure I don't live close enough. But having someone else join you for the tasting segment is something that a lot of channels do. It gives a chance for some back-and-forth conversation, humor, and feedback.

    I want to try this over Christmas - does it freeze well at all? And how was the Lebanese variant?
    I hope your walnut allergy didn't do you too badly!!
    Made the mbakbaka tonight and it was fantastic. Didn't get the best photo because I was in a hurry to eat it, but will send it anyway. :)

      The Lebanese one was also delicious, a bit more umami. Not sure about the freezing part. You could maybe freeze the red peppers before making the dip.
      Yeah I'm all good. It's just a momentary thing.
      Glad to hear you liked it so much!

    Quick question. Why not remove the seeds and core first?

    We could actually make this and toss it with some cooked pasta. Yummmmm!

    Could another nut work just as well? Pecans sound like a good substitute. Are you allergic to pecans? thanks for the recipe; I've made this before, but yours looks way better. Must try it!

      I don't see why not, pecans and walnuts are good subsctitutes.
