Just did it. My first muhammara! Not the last one! With fresh chargrilled peppers, self-made pomegranate molasses (following as well your vid). Delicious --- just tasted a bit, letting the flavours mix overnight. Thank you!
I made this a few days ago and it was PERFECT! Thank you sooo much! I've always wanted to make Muhammara similar to that I have at restaurants. I can finally do that thanks to you! Love from Syria!
Your muhammara recipes the best on net. I ve seen many, many , many recipes. I ve cooked few and result was so and so. But when I prepared your recipe it was very successful! Definitely, yours it's the very best. Thank you!
You can use muammarah in other dishes too. It makes a great pesto-like dressing for pasta dishes, you can use it to add flavor to tuna or egg salad, it works as a sandwich spread, and I’ve even used it in deviled eggs. It’s very versatile and delicious, and it’s so easy to make. I like your recipe the best, as the others I’ve tried were garlicky and hid the delicate walnut flavor.
Love this dip! I am addicted now. Expanding my repertoire of culinary tastes is so enjoyable. Forget the ordinary sour cream, spinach, and ranch dips -- and try these wonderful dishes from other countries!
I have tried a few of your recipes and am on a massive Middle Eastern kick. It is seems very Mediterranean, but with more of a savory aspect, it is also very nice as a lot of the dishes accommodate the hot climate in my state.
I am ridiculously excited for this. We haven't had it in over a decade since we moved away from a restaurant that had it on the regular menu. Thank you! We are definitely giving it a try this week. :)
@@MiddleEats The good thing/bad thing about your wonderful recipes is, once I've made your dishes, Obi, no restaurant can compare, so for the real treats, I have to cook it at home!
Muhammara is one of our favourite dishes to serve to guests. I have never yet met anyone who had heard of it before eating it at our house, and everyone demands the recipe! Sometimes we make it with tahini but more often without.
After trying your amazing ta'ameya recently i am having a meze selection today with muhammara, taboule, mashed ful and halloumi :D thanks for your work! you got me motivated to get out of my comfort zone and try some new recipes. 🖤
There's definitely quite a few variants out there from Turkish, to Lebanese and Syrian versions, each with their own twists. I'm sure you could even make your own version to suit your palette. Hope you enjoy it!
@@MiddleEats Also, you need a gold star for doing this even though you have a walnut allergy. Unbelievable dedication to spreading the word on delicious Middle Eats. 🌟
I went to a Lebanese bakery 3 weeks ago here in Brisbane, run by an Iraqi man and fell in love with it. I’ve been making my own with garlic, lemon juice, red pepper paste and sesame seeds like how he made it. I’ve been eating muhammara every day for 3 weeks now. I love it on flatbread with some BBQ chicken then bake it in the oven or microwave it then add sliced tomatoes, labneh and salad then eat it folded over.
Excellent and exquisite taste of Syrian cuisine on a plate. It's a marvel and a true feast for my pallets, I ate a whole bowl all by my self. And I am not sorry at all! :D
Another awesome video, thanks guys! You've become my go-to source for all middle eastern recipes. I heard about this dish today, thought of your channel immediately. Lo and behold, you have a recipe video! Keep up the brilliant work.
Thank you! The video is wonderful, as always. I am recommending your wonderful channel to everyone I know. You bring such great attention to detail and are very professional in your presentation. Best wishes to you and your family!

I've made this before, it's awesome! :) You can also roast the peppers in an air fryer
I wonder how it would taste with other nuts or seeds like sunflower or pumpkin seeds, or cashews? And without the tongue swelling? Thanks, this looks great!
My mother does it with parts hazelnts, parts almonds and parts cashews and the result is great too ! Also I really love sunflower seed so maybe I should try using some, thanks for the idea !
I'm sure actually any nut will work but maybe some will need extra olive oil to make the dip soft enough. Charlie's comments with cashews sounds amazing and I think he's right about the sunflower seeds. You'll have to try it and report back!
@@MiddleEats I'm relieved that there are variations you can make -- but also appreciate that you used walnuts on our behalf! I do understand loving foods we're allergic to.🥴
Yum! Thanks for the video, very clearly explained and easy to follow. I just have some pomegranate molasses leftover from Thanksgiving and I am a big pepper fan. I know exactly what to do now!
You really did get me into Middle Eastern cooking and I love it! I had a question though, what substitutes can you use if pomegranate molasses isn't available? Edit: nevermind I just saw your video on pomegranate molasses, so I'm making it myself. Thanks!
I just follow your exact recipe and it was just perfect 😍❤ My friend was so impressed, because I'm a very bad cooker. But this one extremely easy. 🙏 thanks very much. For sure I'm gonna try other of you recipes...
Lol im the same way with the dairy i shouldnt eat XD Thanks for the recipe! Ive only ever eaten this at a restuarant so im excited to try making it for myself :)
Ah dairy gets me too, I just love it too much! The great thing is you can customize it with your favourite spices, so more cumin, maybe coriander or even some cayenne pepper!
Yes Ahmed is correct, it's one of the more easily available Middle Eastern ingredients. If you can't find it however, you can make your own pomegranate molasses by reducing pomegranate juice until it thickens. You can also add sugar to balance it out.
I made it just now. It taste so good, some alteration though as Walnut is very expensive here in Indonesia, I made it with cashew and could not find Aleppo pepper either.....
I volunteer as tribute. Unfortunately, I'm sure I don't live close enough. But having someone else join you for the tasting segment is something that a lot of channels do. It gives a chance for some back-and-forth conversation, humor, and feedback.
It hadn't even occured to me, I guess it's just the way I've always seen peppers charred. Maybe when they are whole, they cook quicker, as heat would get trapped inside.
Also an important thing, if you open them, you run the risk of burning the inside if you aren't careful. And there is no skin inside which you can peel off easily
Man after my own heart! I’m allergic to acidic dark greens (spinach, parsley, etc) but when you need those special dishes I take the antihistamines and shoulder the hit. People need to understand that allergies aren’t all a risk of sudden death affair - I also get mild anaphylaxis like what Obis describing and it would be very unpleasant and alarming to have it all the time but it’s not necessarily the end of the world.
Oh Sweetie, I hope your wife took good care of you with that allergy. Food allergies are extremely dangerous. But thanks for taking one for your viewers, that looks delicious and I cannot wait to try making it, myself.
The part about the walnut allergy is so real 😂😂😂
Absolutely, still worth it though. Especially in baklava!
@@MiddleEats No! Please do not risk your life!
I also got an allergy but when the nuts are toasted evenly it’s okay.
I subbed almonds and it works just fine. Pistachios would also work, but are more per oz.
Ferment walnuts in water for a day or three, the dehydrate. Should mitigate allergies.
OMG the walnut allergy line delivered with a smile is pure gold
