He’s usually really accurate with his shots, like they did an episode where they recreated the “smaller bullet” scene from the suicide squad, and Dan nailed a .22 in dead center of a .50 cal first try. He hit every single shot that episode, I wanna say 8? And only missed the center on a couple of em. Dude’s got uncanny aim when he needs it
I appreciate (1) Dan being game to shoot these, (2) actually doing well with the recoil mitigation, and (3) the fact he has his eyes complete shut and entire face scrunched up.

I love how Scott just can’t contain his laughter at the sheer ridiculousness of shooting these large rifles. It makes the video so much more enjoyable to watch.
Largest i've shot is my 45-120 using black powder. Using a recoil calculator it has roughly the same recoil out of a 12-13lbs rifle as a 50bmg has out of a 30lbs rifle. It does the same thing to me, every time i pull the trigger i just smile and laugh. It's a gun i had built. It's a dream rifle for me something completely impractical but always wanted.

Id bet money that the answer is a little of both. Like its absolutely heavy, but no way it's *that* heavy And they're good actors, and doing exaggerated acting is easy enough, so adding those together makes it so that this worked reeeeally well

But you're probably right and they are hamming it up for the bit because they come to the idea of that comedic team hammer swing pretty quickly and its right in line with Gav's sense of humor. But that much wood on the end of a lever, its really hard to gauge its weight from visuals alone. There's a lot of factors that effect that and it could weight an absolute ton, or be pretty light for its size.

This was a great video. I’ve always been told by the guys at our club to shoot a heavier bullet to keep the gun barrel from moving up and causing me to hit high on the targets. Watching this I see that the projectile is long gone before the gun barrel even moves from the recoil. Thanks to the slow motion guys for this.

Totally. I've not shot as much as a .22 and I have both learned a lot and been entertained by Scott & Demo Matt for years even though I have literally no practical experience in this specific subject matter.
That outro with them destroying the table in the background and then Gavin throwing it was probably the best outro on the channel thus far! It was so good it almost felt scripted with how hilarious and well paced it was! Those guys know how to bring the funny!

Consider an episode to discuss some of the oddball guns like the palm pistol, the pen pistol, and the flashlight pistol you have tested. How do you NOT eventually point these at yourself or others?? You were very safe with them as always but aren't these oddballs absolutely going to be pointed at yourself, even if unloaded?...and we know those unloaded guns are the killers! You are VERY safety-minded so a segment on this topic would be super cool.

He was a weapons/explosives expert in the British Army, and has shot multiple .50 cals in videos before. Kinda odd how nervous he seemed about it lol.
