It truly is. I'll never forget seeing it for the first time on the big screen. I had really low expectations for this movie and this was the moment I became fully invested. Outstanding scene.

It’s good but not as great as the moment at the end when star lord is rescued from the deadly energy of the infinity stone by the other GOTGs sharing the burden.
This made me al just cry but this was the best shot ever

this is one of the best coward turned hero moments in history and one of the best mcu moments I'm history so much emotion packed into 3 minutes its incredible and the score is phenomenal Aswell you can see and hear the emotion quill was fully prepared to die for someone he has only known for a day or two and when the camera is on quills face he is completely calm and collected his mind is the clearest its ever been and ever will be he has he power of a god and the courage of a man
Quill was never a coward. But yeah i agree with the other things you have write. This scene is phenomenal. The shot where he is holding her zooming out and the music ... ah the music fits perfectly
Quill is a narcissist not a coward. This moment is meaningful from a character development perspective because he is being selfless, not because he's overcoming fear. Peter is constantly putting himself in dangerous situations and has no problem with it, as is demonstrated in the opening scene. But he's literally dancing to his own soundtrack there and the only purpose is selfish gain. Here he's putting aside his ego for someone else. He risks death and gives himself over to his captors. All to save someone else. You could even make the argument that the story is about each character overcoming their narcissism and becoming a family. None of them can see past their own narrow issues until it comes down to it at the end. Peter redeems his past mistake by taking his mother's hand/the infinity stone which he did not do as a child because he could not get past his own feelings. It was a selfish act, not cowardice. And because he overcomes that in the end, the other guardians are able to do the same.
And in that moment Quill stole my heart.💝😍

Let’s stop acting like the writing for Infinity War, ESPECIALLY End Game was all that “great”…it really wasn’t.
Aside from, Thanos would have been all the MORE determined to get the stones…what, going off the logic that he wouldn’t have had someone he “loved” to sacrifice for the Soul Stone?
End Game basically killed that plot. What Black Widow & Barton? Yeah, ok…their beginning & their friendship. Marvel would have had another cheap trick up their sleeve instead of Gamora
(Or maybe if Hollywood writers were still as talented as, quite a long time ago…they would have found something more clever)

More scenes like 2:19 are what newer films in the MCU like Thor Love and Thunder and even The Eternals are missing.. taking their time to show character growth and not have it forced. Thor and Eternals are on opposite ends of the spectrum, where thor seemed to lack much emotional gravity and weight, Eternals took took much time showing why we should care about them as a FAMILY and less why we should care about them as individuals.. everything is either forced, rushed or nonexistent and (with the exception of the last 2 avengers films), the Guardians movies are the last REAL movies in the MCU imo.. Movies that feel like a real vision from a filmmaker and not just another installment/episode in a neverending TV show.. a good show, dont get me wrong, I enjoy the MCU most of the time, even Thor L&T was a good movie for what is is, popcorn fun, but nothing comes close to matching the feel of the Guardians films imo.. it's just opinion. Maybe I'm wrong lol

Perhaps that was why you two had a hard time reconciling other than your different skillsets to bear. Back when Marvel was still something to see on the screen. Quill has one of the best arc’s in the films

Suicide Squad 2021 is not even inches close to this movie in every aspect. This was MCU when they had descent CGI and genuinely rated movies and didnt make them a hit for no f..ing reason. This is James Gunn’s prime movie. Stop overhyping Suicide Squad 2021 and stop saying GOTG 2 was a good movie.
