    Hi Brianna Rashay! Awesome tips! That's a beautiful scarf! I'm not a product junkie either. I buy only the products my har needs. I learned my lesson awhile back trying out new products not looking at the ingredients and experience protein overload. Going to try your method using a silk scarf to protect my ends when sitting around the house. Sometimes I do the cross wrap when I'm to lazy to do the regular wrap. 🤣

    Hey Brianna, you look gorgeous as always. I recently relaxed my hair after a 6 month stretch ! I've been using ors box no- lye relaxer. I've noticed in the years that I've used it, my hair feels stiff & dry. Im thinking about switching to a lye relaxer. What do you think ?

    • @BriannaRashay
      @BriannaRashay  4 года назад +8

      Thanks so much my love! No lye relaxers transfer calcium to the hair strands. That leads to build up which would cause your hair to be dry and brittle. If your scalp isn’t sensitive I would recommend switching to a lye relaxer because the calcium is what’s making your hair feel that way! I hope it all works out for you hun

      Agree 100%. I do have a sensitive scalp but now with 4 to 6 months new growth ( self relax) I can handle Lye relaxer just fine. I was natural for 7 years before relaxing myself but prior my stylist did my relaxer every 8 weeks for 36 years 🤪 and I burned every single time! I thought it was something I just had to live with. My hair didn’t suffer but I sure did!

      @@chestarr21batson46 well dont have a sensitive scalp, so I think I'll be ok. I'm just kinda nervous changing to a lye relaxer, I'm a couple inches away from bra strap length and I can not afford a set back lol

      Armelle Philippe I understand completely. I’m 60 and at the same length as you but my hair growth is no where as fast when I was younger. So every inch counts. So happy I still have a head full of thick hair. Did you speak to a professional about the switch? I spent 2 years thinking about going back to a relaxer and then had to think about which type. I didn’t want to cave in but I was so tired of time spent on my natural hair. Life is so much shorter for me so I went for it. No regrets!

    I love you so much! I get so confused on if a deep conditioner is protein or moisture. Is there specific types of ingredients to look on the products that indicates which one it is? Also where do you get your wigs from? And do you ever do box braids for protective styling?

    • @jaydblak4638
      @jaydblak4638 4 года назад +5

      A deep conditioner is for moisture but they might have protein on them, you have to read the ingredient’s

    • @poshniall
      @poshniall 3 года назад +5

      you should look at the first 5 ingredients because the higher up an ingredient is the higher percentage of the conditioner it is! protein ingredients include silk amino acids or any other amino acids, biotin, hydrolyzed wheat protein or any other hydrolyzed protein, hydrolyzed keratin, hydrolyzed collagen. moisture ingredients include oils, glycerin or other humectants like honey, anything ending in glycol, or sorbitol, and emollients like plant butters, and cetyl and cetaeryl alcohols. themestizamuse.com/blog/what-to-check-for-in-protein-and-moisturizing-products

    Hi Brianna, I love your content so much, so full of good information. I have a shedding question, I had a baby last year and after 3 months I had my usual post partum shedding which lasted for about 4 months and all my front edges fell off then it stopped and started growing back. But I noticed that my hair still sheds all over. As in long strands always come off whenever I touch my hair. I’ve done coffee rinse and even rice water treatment which usually works for my shedding but it’s not working. I had to cut off three inches and have been super protective with my hair and still it’s shedding. I’m due for a touch up and I don’t know what to do. Please what advice can you give me? Sorry my question is long, thanks.

    • @BriannaRashay
      @BriannaRashay  4 года назад +3

      Thanks for watching! I always say never add a chemical to your hair when you don’t know what’s going on and it’s not healthy. If you can I would hold off on relaxing until your hair is in a stable state and you get the shedding under control. Maybe go to a professional and have them take a better look at your scalp and your hair! I hope this helps! ❤️

      Brianna Rashay thanks for your advice. I couldn’t wait anymore and so I went ahead to retouch and by doing so I discovered it was my new growth that was causing the shedding. The post partum shedding has stopped and the hair is no longer shedding for now. Thanks so much

    Hey Brianna. I’m having a serious problem and I would really appreciate some advice. I was natural for almost 3 years and then last year May I relaxed my hair. Since then my hair keeps falling out in clumps, and it’s not short broken hair, they’re long and it looks more like excess shedding. Like, just by touching my hair, it falls out. I’ve done protein treatments, deep conditioning often, moisture and seal consistently but it’s not working. What do you suggest I do??

      Did you use a neutralizing shampoo when you wash the relaxer out a few times? Oh my goodness I'm so sorry I'm so sorry I hope and pray she can help you with that sometime proteins are too strong you didn't use a strong protein treatment with you you should always use a mild one

      It could also be an underlying health issue. Are u anaemic forexample or are u stressed? I was losing hair for a whole yr and I thought it was coz I tried a different relaxer. I had academic stress and I tried everything to correct the issue . It finally stopped after things normalised and boom after another set of exams there was my hair falling again.

    • @BriannaRashay
      @BriannaRashay  4 года назад +4

      Everyone has some great input! That definitely is horrible I’m sorry that’s happening to you. I know rice water has helped a lot of people which shedding although I’ve never used it before but if it’s coming out in clumps you may need to seek professional help! Definitely make sure you neutralize your hair 2-3 times to make sure all the relaxer is out. But it definitely seems like you’ve been proactive in trying to eliminate the problem!

    Hi Briana, I have a couple of questions for you. Is it common to lose a handful of hair when massaging the scalp with a massager. This always happens to me.. Do you use heat when you deep condition and what shade of lip stick/gloss are you wearing. Thank you.

    • @BriannaRashay
      @BriannaRashay  4 года назад +2

      Nicole Thompson hi hun, a hand full of hair sounds excessive. I’ve never used a scalp massager hut definitely doesn’t sound like it’s normal. I don’t use heat just a plastic cap to cover and it’s a elf colored lip gloss I’ve had it for so long I don’t even know and the name has rubbed off at this point sorry!

    This is just my opinion but you mostly wear wigs. So in my mind that is not maintaining YOUR hair. That's putting your hair away. Maintaining to me is maintaining YOUR hair. My hair dresser does not wear any protective styles in 4 years I saw her in a pony tail once and she told me I won't see it like that again. There is another RUclips Fay Douglas who has long relaxed hair and dies not protective style. Both wash DC and flat iron every 2 weeks religiously. Trim and moisturize when necessary and cover at night that's it. I have adopted this regimen and my hair is just about bra strap from a chin length bob in 2 years. Girls you don't need all this extra spending your rent money or your kids food and clothing money to buy hair. Wash it moisturize it tie it up at night and leave it alone. DONE! INCHES. Apologies for the sas that's just my personality I still watch all your videos.
