Watching the Cinematography Roundtable series makes me really happy. It reassures me that I am on the right path and all I need is more time, patients, experiment, and a little bit of luck :)
They are so great to listen to, those gifted craftsmen.
Too short and needs a moderator to make sure everyone is involved and not the same voices are heard every time.
This is a great series
Interesting to hear about film. How did they know they were getting correct exposure without exposing the film?
Light meters
Why this video is short ???
So the guy on far left and guy on far right are just a props? Oh, bookends.
why is it that short? two of them didn't even have the chance to speak...
Check out the channel, it's a series of clips with them
@@michaelstadnikfilm will do, thanks
Can't avoid commenting (but credit where credit's due, to the cinematographer's OTHER work): the lighting in "Hanna" was absolutely terrible, with lots of ugly video noise and crushed shadows. Not the fault of the camera itself, which was an Arri Alexa Mini.
all the clips they showed were really bad... maybe the ripped videos got crushed. Cause I know some of these DPs by name and they are very good...
@@user-zv7lm8uk7h I was referring to the actual finished product when streamed via fiber in UHD/HDR, still quite awful.
Really @CookeOpticsTV? An all-white, mostly male panel in 2021? Jeez there are so many diverse DP's out there you could've gone with.
You’re ridiculous! It isn’t necessary to always have a diverse cast.
Why do you simplify? Poor old man has no wisdom at all
more than youll ever have
By the way , a hole, I have thousands and thousands of dollars of lights, high end LEDs, tube, mats, tungsten, grip gear.... ton of arri tungsten... I can tell you the best thing is either A natural light only, or B only ONE light, usually an Arri tungsten.
So COVID is over?
Hi Alan, This is a clip from a roundtable shot in December of 2018.
It's a shame that it's not new content and that they have to use 2018 footage rather than discussing up to date films and technology. A
@@StaffsStuff >implying that 2ish year old discussions are not useful. what has changed lol. this is useful great advice no matter what.
