Between people referring to skill descriptions as "Hidden mechanics" and pronouncing "Reconciliation" as "Recolition" I'm fairly convinced this community simply can't read.
Something I think I missed in the first pass of your video, both in your descriptions and your gameplay, is that you don't seem to mention or utilize his passive abilities and EX Special attack follow up. If you press Special Attack after his EX Special attack block counters, then you'll do another attack. This attack is crucial because it gives a temporary shield to his entire team. Without it, Ben only gets a shield while he's doing his block attack himself. His Additional Ability is that when an ally has a shield on them, their Critical Hit rate is increased by 16%. This will never happen if you don't use that additional EX Special activation, and you're missing out on one of his best supporting actions. I think besides missing this (and I may be missing it, I tried watching a few times), your overall Ben info is really good. So I hope this information gets added.
@chatea Yes. His shield will not give crit rate unless someone else on the team is Fire or Belobog. But if you have one (say, Anton), then your third character gets it too even if they don't match Ben.
thanks for the clear explanation, I knew you could do a follow up to his block but was a bit confused about what actually activated the shield for the rest of the team
Get his w-engine. Stack atk and def. Crit doesn't matter. Impact on D6. Max his assist and special. You use him as a parry counter machine. Parry big hits, block counter with w-engine block for massive hits. Both of which have high daze modifers. Swap to other character, parry with Ben as needed. Ain't complex he's meant to parry/counter and that's it.
I'm running S11, M6 Ben, and Lucy. I do have Koleda but tbh Ben's M6 adds impact to all his attacks, and running both Koleda and Ben is a bit redundant if one of them isn't acting as your main DPS.
@@guilhermeisoppo2627 lol I actually talked myself back the other way again and have been experimenting with S11/Koleda/M6 Ben. I still think the Lucy version is more fun to play, but I want to test both thoroughly because S11 does more damage against stunned enemies and I got curious if double stunners (Koleda and Ben) was actually optimal because of that. I think in the end what I'm going to find is this: Ben (or Koleda) + Lucy will be better against smaller mobs and easy bosses where you can stun them in one rotation. Koleda + M6 Ben will be better against beefy bosses where only using one of them can't build enough stun in a single rotation but using both lets you make sure that when S11 comes out, the boss is already stunned.
a good start for a guidemaker, though i have to disagree with a lot of things that is being shown here. for starters, you will feel the lack of assist points when dealing with stronger bosses especially when you dont run with a dedicated stunner. you generally want to spend them as they not only deal huge daze dmg, Ben also recovers more points as the sole defender agent we have rn
There are a few points that don't really make that much sense and that you need to correct. First, his w-engine has a max scaling of less than 1000% of his DEF. And it only procs once every 7.5s. His Skill actually has a max scaling of more than 2000% of his ATK. In other words, he scales more on his ATK than his DEF, even considering his ATK buff coming from DEF, since he has naturally higher base ATK than base DEF. In that regards, choosing DEF% over ATK% isn't really better when everything that matters to you is DMG (it does bring utility with his shield, and his own sustain). Then, there is absolutely no point in giving him the Stun 4pcs set, when he's barely using any basic attack (let's not even talk about dodge counter, it's anti-synergic). ER set is the way to go if there's no one else using it, and if there is, just go with 2-2-2. And lastly, like some other people said, because of diminishing return, he should not get too much ATK/DEF, just like other characters, but try to get as many multipliers as possible. That means, and once again that's if you want to focus on damage, Crit DMG on 4, and Def/Fire DMG on 5. I think def on 5 does have a meaning if you consider the w-engine hit doesn't always hit with fire DMG, but I'd still take Fire anyway.
What if I have Ben at C6 though? Is it still not advisable to utilize the 12s increased daze on his basic attacks? I was thinking of using him on Zhu Yuan comp instead of Anby.
I am very sceptical about going for impact over crit dmg when his best in slot gives him a guaranteed crit, that feels really wrong to me. Especially since you probably wanna play him with Koleda and she provides a ton of stun already. I am also unsure defense outscales fire dmg% because of diminishing return. I'd be careful about following this disc recommendations, but the guide overall is well done though
At low core skill def scaling is really low, so if Ben is the only stun alternative you have going for crate, fire% and impact just like anby or Lycaon makes total sense
The flaw with Koleda Ben is that you can only run a support or a dps with them. If you look at Ben’s number, his daze values are actually pretty respectable. So, instead of going full dmg on him you can instead build him as a sub-dps stunner and have support + dps slots freed up
Could also run him as a Psuedo support with 4 Jazz and 2 Def since def is converted to attack on one of his Mindscape iirc which further adds to Jazz 4-set bonus.
I kept pulling Ben and ended up maxing out his Mindscape. So I ended up using 11, Ben, and Rina as my main team... Maybe not ideal, but that's how luck goes. I load Ben up with Crit Damage and Impact as much as I can with what I have available. Rina is Pen Ratio and Electricity Damage... I use Anby and Rina together if a boss is weak to electricity or I need more than 3 agents. The cat is my 5th, and I don't have a decent 6th...
I think there's an argument for being able to splash Ben into any team comp as long as the other two have their affinity/faction synergy, since Ben can really function well without his.
Gotta be honest, I'm not really a fan of the faction bonuses. It feels too much like being forced to run specific teams instead of creating your own team.
