That’s why my meditation app asks me how I’m feeling before and after I meditate. Ok, I’ll not ignore those questions. Thanks!

It's also why traditional practices use movement before meditation. Asana (yoga poses) are thought to prepare the body and mind for meditation. The intention is to create, groundedness, presence and unity which increases consciousness. By being aware of our emotions and the physical sensations we are no longing dwelling solely in the mind as separate from the body and therefore also not in imagined time (the past and the future). We are in the moment, the Now. Other practices like Tai Chi and Qi Gong are similar. In these practices conscious presence can promote the wilful direction of energy. This in turn facilitates flow.

I had Mendi for a while and had issue with not really seeing how this translates into me actually be more focused. I think what you are talking here is helping a lot and I will try to update my work procedure with it and see how it goes. Thank you Cody, really appreciate you and these videos you are making.

Awesome video, thanks! I love it when you measure the effects of meditation and find ways to get further and further into them.

This brain gadget makes sense. I like that it's more interactive than most. Anyone can close their eyes for 20 minutes and focus on their breath. As the mind wanders you bring it back to the breath. I would like to see a device that takes a person in the active, real world, where you have to control emotions under pressure. Or, playing a game and controlling your emotions at the same time. The best I have ever used was Wild Divine. They had the coffee shop game. Unfortunately, the company was sold and the new owners messed the device up and it's useless now.

Just found your content and love it! Have you done a video on BCIs that can help with mental health and influence the brains attention/emotion?

Hi. Just found out about your channel... Having come across so many devices I have a question for you. Which one would be the best device to "pair" with a cognitive development program? Let's just say you want to develop a better memory, reasoning, problem solving, etc. and you found some app like brainhq our lumosity, and you want neurofeedback to match with the results you are getting from those 3rd party programs, which would be the best device to use? Would mendi still be the ideal device to compliment those programs? If not what then? I'm more inclined at "iq development activities" kind of stuff.

So meditation should come after the Mendi?

  • @brian423

Well, that's nice, I guess, but I use Mendi so that I won't have to do all that other crap.

It's all additive. No device can do everything for you automatically. Thanks for the comment Brian.
