    When the float height is correct, where should the fuel level be if I attach a clear pipe via a spare drain bolt and run it up the carb body?

    • @TokyoOffroad
      @TokyoOffroad  5 месяцев назад

      Yes, you could do it that way. But it'll be time consuming to measure and adjust as assembly and disassembly of the carb is required each time.

    Im struggling to find a keihin pwk 38mm carb anywhere for my 2017 te 250, and i noticed your store has sold out as well. Do you know if this is a worldwide shortage? Do you know when your store will get then back in stock? Thanks a lot for the informational videos!

      Yes, they are in short supply. I just received some stock of Keihin 38 PWK Air Striker short body carbs and have updated the availability on the webpage here (note: I only sell modified carbs which include a STIC Metering block): tokyooffroad.com/product/stic-keihin-pwk-38mm-air-striker-short-kit/

    The original PWK is 6.5mm, but what kind of effect can I get by changing to 7mm or 8mm?

    • @TokyoOffroad
      @TokyoOffroad  5 месяцев назад +1

      Lowering the float height will result in less fuel spillage while riding over rough ground. It will also affect the running of the carb: higher will be richer; lower will be leaner. Too low and you risk fuel starvation during long wide open throttle. I like 7mm when running a 38mm Keihin PWK with STIC.

    You don't need this shit , hold your carb at whatever angle you want stand on your head and blow through the gas line now you can see where your level is by when the air stops blowing through you can now adjust it while still standing on your head it doesn't matter about the angle 🤦

    • @TokyoOffroad
      @TokyoOffroad  5 месяцев назад +2

      To measure the float height by hand you don't need to blow through it, just rotate the carb backwards until the needle valve seats and the float stops moving, as shown in the video: ruclips.net/video/vf4Ty6Yc9SY/видео.html
      However, care should be taken not taken not to compress the needle valve spring as the float height will change and the measurement will not be accurate. For this reason, 60 degrees is specified by Keihin and will result in consistent and accurate measurements. Regarding blowing through the fuel line, I also show this in the above video at the end, but I use it to determine whether the needle valve is sealing properly.

      @@TokyoOffroad you can see if the needle valve is closing, when it's closed that is your level you don't actually need to measure 60 degrees The value is closed by your float Hight , alot of people try to make it sound complicated and say you need special tools like this silly stand wich a complete wast of time
