should I talk about Terminator: Resistance here? maybe during a quiet game release month...
absolutely.
Terminator conversation, yes omg would love that, about the game, the movies, the show/ride, the comics, anything. Maybe you could do a live stream with us sometime playing the game?
Yes, maybe you could talk about the company itself and how they've evolved and have honed their craft from Rambo, terminator to RoboCop and what you would like to see them tackle next.
For me I'd love to see them try Judge Dredd
Absolutely! The game is sooo underrated
Yes, please do.
Hey Jake! How you feeling about Starship Troopers?? Similar passion?
Please never stop what you do Jake because you’re the biggest breath of fresh air in this gaming space. It’s truly so nice to hear someone just genuinely enjoy things flaws and all in a industry where most people who as soon as they find more than 3 things to remotely complain about they’ll write off as unplayable or tell you to skip out on. Your genuineness shines every time you post, and it was what made me such a big fan of gameranx in the first place. You’re a gem!
There are two Jakes that carry RUclips for me. Jake Baldino and NakeyJakey. ❤️
Thanks! I'm trying. The kind words really mean a lot. I'm glad you get what I'm going for
Yep, I am an old man gamer (mid 40’s y’all) and I get tired of the drama. So it’s nice just to see others with a similar mindset on films and games. Seems like 80’s and 90’s kids are the only cool people left 😂
@@thechicagoboxI feel ya there. Same age here and I totally agree
This game is the definition of trust the process at first it’s so slow and you die easily and by then end you got a full auto 9 a blast wave, a dash, mad health it’s just awesome
You die easily? No you don't
Gaming.
Teyon really proved themselves.
I think they are the perfect developers to make an FPS Blade Runner game.
Now there's an idea!
You can really tell the people who made it love robocop, the game has a soul and care to it that alot of other games seem to lack. I played it not knowing anything about robocop too and came away loving it, then watched the films and became a big fan. Its a really great little game and I hope they do more.
The original RoboCop movie is an absolute masterpiece 💯
💯
Hell yes. Vid on robocop movie. “I’d buy that for a dollar”
This game was so kickass definitely an underrated gem of the year. In my top 5 of the year for SURE! Graphics are beautiful the gameplays addicting and the shooting is so satisfying. I just really want a new game plus just so I can go through the game again as absolutely roboGod
Finish buying all those skill points, look for things you missed and choose an alternative way to go through the story to get a different ending.
@@handsomeDRAC okay so you missed the entire point of my comment that’s okay
@ekofever827 what I meant was, in tangent with my comment, you could do all the things I mentioned with a new game plus. I'm agreeing with you.
@@handsomeDRAC oh then my mistake I apologize for coming at you rudely
Graphics are great, that's about it.
Said this before but I'll say it again, I'd buy that for a dollar.
god damn right
I've never actually seen robocop, no idea why, in my 30s, just never seen it, but hearing how much you love it, I'll be watching this weekend
You are in for a treat. Skip the rest tho (2 is fine but a big step down still, 3 is poison)
excited for you. enjoy!
@@JakeBaldino thank you!
@@donkeydance5483 think God the game takes place in bewteen the 2nd and 3rd movie then.
I finally got this game on sale and played through it. I work like 6 days a week for about 65 hours on average. Gaming may still be my favorite pastime but since I have so little time to play, it takes a hell of a game to actually draw me in from start to finish. It has to be something I'm either incredibly hyped about like Resident Evil 4 or Spider-Man 2 man. Or it has to be something that is just that genuinely good that I find myself sucked into it even if it is a game I was unsure of. And this is one of those games. I love the franchise but I wasn't necessarily ever expecting anybody to make a quality video game out of it. But I just beat this game in about a week, which for me is pretty good cuz I'm mostly just playing it on the weekends.
The combat is fun, the world is so lovingly crafted to the first two films, and there is a certain charm about it that reminds me of old school semi-open first person shooters like Deus ex.
I love interacting with the fellow cast back at the police station, I love wandering around that little Detroit block and getting into shenanigans with side characters solving side plot threads that can either feel pretty major or can be something as ridiculous as Robocop finding lost cats. And I absolutely loved going through so many of those recreated locations from the first two films to have firefights wear just everything is reactive. There isn't a piece of the environment that doesn't scatter with debris when you shoot it and it's awesome.
There's a couple of negatives, every time the camera switches angles during dialogue visuals kind of tend to linger too long and look all scratchy as the frame shifts, throwing enemies into walls is glitchy and you constantly instead throw them right through the walls, not like breaking through them just clipping through them, the boss fights all really kind of suck exception of parts of the final fight. Basically parts of this game just really remind you that it's a budget title, but none of it outweighs the amount of love and care that goes into this game that ultimately pulls you into it and immerses you in it even if there are things that are distracted It made me immediately want to go and rewatch the first two movies
would be better if we could co op it as Anne Lewis though
The passion shines through and makes up where the budget and perhaps development time could suffer and that to me makes a difference, once u get the core right I can excuse many issues
I’m a huge Robocop fan and I really appreciate the work Teyon is doing.
Predator anyone?
I’d love another Predator game.
I’d love to see another predator vs alien game where we can play from all 3 perspectives(marines, alien and predator)
Predator? You mean a game based on Epstein?
Yes predator, but I would prefer it to be open linear, kinda like terminator.
They can also make it 3rd person, I'd be down for that
About time!
it took me forever to get this one out...same with Alan Wake 2 😅 SOON
I'd buy it for a dollar.
Cool game. Might even play it since you loved it so much!
Haven't brought it yet!
Teyon is slowly becoming one of my favourite game developers. Ya there Rambo game was shit but Terminator: Resistance was amazing and I really loved Robocop: Rogue City. There great at making sequels to the movies. To me Terminator: Resistance and Robocop: Rogue City are the true sequels to there movie counterparts. I’d kill for a sequel to 2012 Dredd with Karl Urban that world is just asking for a first person shooter.
Robocop rogue city is the reason I bought a PS5 (along with Spider-Man 2) I was hyped for it when it was announced and got it as soon as I could! It didn't disappoint and was worth the new console and the whole nine yards! I love the first two movies a lot (third on is okay, not as bad as people make it out to be, but it's still bad!) It could've benefitted from more music and more dynamic cutscenes as a lot of them feel kinda sterile and lifeless! The shooting part was great and the versitility of upgrades and combat is really well done! I will be replaying multiple times in the foreseeable future!
I want judge dredd dammit, and I want warner bros to make it, I think they would do an amazing job
Playing it right now 3 achievements from completion. 😊
They did capture the 80's vibe. Also great dialogs and whats better than blasting bandits with an AUTO-9
Commenting without watching the video to avoid game spoilers (love the RoboCop films though) but I have to say after literally finishing terminator resistance on series X tonight, I'm excited.
Yeah it was a bit clunky and the graphics were a bit shoddy but the vibes, grud damn, were they in point.
When the theme tune kicks in it's awesome, or when first coming across a T-800 it's "scary", I really enjoyed it and I'm now definitely going to get RoboCop when I can afford it
I grew up watching Robocop and Lethal Weapon on VHS. The 3rd Robocop so many times. I was too young to be watching those type of movies for sure, but my brothers had them on VHS and nobody ever stopped me. Great movies. I played the game and it's a good representation of the films, imo. Also, Jake, if you read this, that PC looks amazing. Take good care of it! 4090's aren't easy to find, at reasonable prices.
I just got this game recently for my PS5, its a gem!
A game so good, the worst thing about it is that it doesn’t have new game plus.
Are you gonna talk about the insomniac hack
Bought Rogue City last month, truly felt like a step back in time when I saw the first Robocop. So cool. More please and thank you!
Enjoyed the game, would like to see some patches to add in some more music, ambient tracks when exploring. As well as fixing up the texture pop in a bit
completed the game today, agree, pop-ins were really noticeable
I'm waiting for a price drop, but I'm excited to play it. It's on my list!
You should DEFINITELY do a video about the movies!
So, Jake mentions he likes the Falcon Nothwest PC because it reminds him of his favorite things... then doesn't mention Falcon. 😂 It's okay, Jake. I'm not really a fan of Falcon either.
Robocop is the shiznit.
If you’re a fan, I recommend the Frank Miller Comics. He does what Robocop 2 was going to be and it’s great 👍🏻
by far my favorite video on this channel. you could just immediately see how excited you were to talk about the game, flaws and all. I'd stepped away from it because other stuff released but this is my push to play through it this weekend
Okay, so I've been sent to test you with this question:
"Do I need to watch 'Robocop 3' to understand everything in this game?"
That PC looks sick. I even like the falcon rgb although I'm not a fan of rgb, but this one looks great. I'd buy that for a dollar.
Yes, Robocop review pls!
Ye thats exactly why I didn't play this because I wanna see him in third person....not first
Once I got the Auto 9 full auto I was smiling like I got poisoned by the 80’s joker!! It was very fun
chaos unlocked.
When I was young, we got Robocop and Aliens on VHS. I would love to hear a long form from you on the Robocop movie.
I'd love more shooty bang bang levels and less weird rpg dialogue choices
I agree
I feel like this game will be a classic like the og dying light or sleeping dogs. It just has that feel to it. Just a fun game to play.
you and Shillup are way too young to love Robocop... sheesh :P:
Being someone who was only able to watch the sequel movies within the past couple of years actually, this series is just the right type of cool for its time, and still remain cool for those of us with that older soul. Hoping this game is under the tree
The arcade version of Robocop was awesome. So many quarters wasted :D Good times.
Such a fun game!!
This game was a real surprise for me this year. It was a good time. I kinda wish it had a new game plus 😄😄😄
Unironically better a detective game than Alan wake 2
Jake! Are you waiting for the dlc for Alan wake 2 to talk about it ??
Growth stunted??? Jake, I'm a 58 yo man who loves video games and still reads comics (Graphic Novels). I'm also a retired Airline Pilot who has more than enough money for the rest of his life. Oh, and I have a beautiful younger wife who gets a kick out of that fact that I read comics and play video games.
BTW, I played and loved this game!😁👍✌
I finally got my hands on this game to rent it before opening it and it’s not that great
Waiting for a sale...
I'd buy rhat for a dollar!
RoboCop is definitely a favourite movie!
I watched a let's play of the game when it came out and thought it looked like absurd fun, with all the gore and interactive environment. I then watched the movie shortly after, having seen parts of it, but never really sitting down to watch it. I immediately fell in love with the satirical nature of the world with all of the commercial interstitials, but also the depth in which Peter Weller plays a man who is wrestling with whether or not he's still who he was, or just a machine with fragments of his previous life lingering in him. I then bought the game and had a blast, for the reasons you talked about. Every little detail from the car sparking on the way out of the garage, to the mission in the video store where everything you talk about is a reference to the franchise or those who worked on it. This game is a love letter to RoboCop and as a newly converted fan, I really enjoyed it.
Just started it a few minutes ago! Love it.
have fun!
We need both a new judge dredd game and a new Punisher game
After missing it completely in my childhood (cusper millennial), I credit you and ShillUp entirely with converting me into a Robocop Stan. Played the game FIRST, weirdly, then watched both movies (I’m told we don’t talk about the third). Do that movie episode!
What are your thoughts on avatar frontiers of pandora
This game is a banger
Still here Jake! Totally 💯% got you're back plus I love talking Alan Wake 2!!! Can't wait for the 2 dlc to come!!!
Quite possibly the best Robocop game that we will ever get.
Better to wait 35 years, than to never get it at all...
Disagree, I won't play this shit because it will just damage the robocop legacy, looks fucking awful dude
I loved my time with Robocop it was relaxing, oddly. It felt like a tech demonstration but it was still fun? I platted it and I've gone back through the campaign again. Usually the writing would put me off but there was something charming about it?
Four great movies were born in the 80's - Terminator, Rambo, Robocop and Predator... These guys have had a bash at 3 of those. I wonder if they'll get the chance to have a pop at Predator.
Robocop is their best effort, they seem to have improved with each game. Love this game despite the flaws (I find the auto-9 sounds a bit too bassy), you can tell the devs are actual fans.
Please do a movie video please thank you
Needs a vr mod so you can really be robocop
Nice, I had Robocop on the NES too, one of the few NES games I beat.
I am a Terminator & Robocop Fan . Great to see what Teyon is doing these days... I bought terminator resistance with the DLC annihilation line along with Robocop Alex murphy edition . I am so loving this. Would love to see Alien vs Predator by Teyon on your channel. btw Terminator Survivors is coming soon.
Hey man i gotta tell you, you are probably my favorite video game content creator and this a great example of why. Before watching this video I had never seen any of the movies or played any of the games. I have since binged the original trilogy and i loved it, I haven’t gotten the game yet but is at the top of my list just gotta save some money and wait for a sale. You always have a great take on games even when our taste differ you explain where your opinions come from in such a good way that I can tell if I will agree or if its just not for me. Keep doing what you do it’s great comfort and gets me really excited about the stuff I love.
I am not a robo cop fan and didn't even know there was more then 1 movie. I got this for free and popped it in. I freaking love it! I immediately bought the 1st movie in 4k and I can't find the 2nd one on anything but dvd 😢. This game made me a fan.
They gotta try judge dredd now
I wish it was third person
You’re the best Jake!
I wanna see a Terminator set in the 1980s. You play as future soldier and father of John Connor, Kyle Reese, voiced by Michael Bien, sent back in time on a mission to track down and find and protect Sarah Connor from an Arnold Schwarzennger T-800. Follow the plot of the first movie but could add so much more layers as you progress your way through a semi open world but linear experience.
I love this game
You can tell this game was a labor of love by the developers and I have loved this game so far.
My mom had an Atari 2600 growing up. My first council was in NES back in 1992
This game has made a HUGE point to be made with the state of video game production when it comes to IPs.
Teyon proves that it doesn’t take 100’s of millions to make a game that can stay true to the source material and make an enjoyable game.
As much as it is awesome to see the beads of sweat running down Spider-Man’s butt crack, I would take a hit in fidelity over more of these AA games.
I truly enjoyed playing this game. For all its flaws, it made a life long Robocop fan have a smile on his face as the part man, part machine, All cop walking battle Tank.
Interested in your thoughts on the max Payne remakes with the very recent passing of James McCafery and how you think remedy should move forward. I personally can’t see or imagine anyone else as max payne
I loved the slow piano cover of the theme used on the main menu
It did what very few video games have tried to be in the last few years........to just be a video game. It was janky and I did not care. It was just pure fun and enjoyed every second of it.
The boss fights were so incredible. We should praise AA games more. And Teyon's improvement since Rambo to Terminator to Robocop is also really stellar.
The scene in RoboCop when he first walks into the station is amazing. The other officers were like WTF.
TALK ABOUT HALO
Excellent. I've been on the fence about getting it. I too am a huge Robocop fan. I was 11 when it came out (yes I'm old lol) and remember seeing it in the theater for the first time. I think now after hearing your thoughts and knowing that you are a Robocop fan too, I'll just pull the trigger and play it.
You could always spin up the Basil Poledouris soundtrack if you want the theme to play all the time. It's a great score.
Robocop 2014 was a massive mistake. He looked like a man in a suit. At least with the first movie, with the effects on his face it made it so much more real.
Personally I've never seen the robocop movies but have always been intrigued, I would love to hear you go on a deep dive into it.
I was born in 1977 so rented out all the 80's classics as a kid from the video store Robocop, Terminator, Predator all the horrors good time's before people bothered about age certificates. I'm definitely the target audience for this, and it's a great robocop game it really nails the brief. You could argue it's an average shooter but it's fun just being robocop and throwing perps around never gets dull.
If you could talk about classic robocop, predator, and commando movies, that’s be great
I have so many good memories of playing Robocop vs. The Terminator on the Sega Megadrive!
Hey Jake I have a video idea recommendation. I'd like to hear your video game Christmas memories. Whether it be specific holiday themed game releases, childhood christmas gifts, mulitplayer holiday themed seasons, etc
What's that no soundtrack deal? I thought I was hearing it the whole time...dup duup dup duup dup duup dup duup. DEAD OR ALIVE, YOU ARE COMING WITH ME.
I loved this game. I've been through it twice. I'd really like to see new game plus.
Shoutout to the Robocop theme for the Gameboy game too, wildly good lol.
Over the top
If you can give Tickets for wrong parking, i am in.
I know you can.😊
They really included the cucumber shot. Outch!😂
i dont remember on which video you said it but you said "please go and buy robocop" and since i too grew up watching the films, i did, and i had a blast. the game does a great job at showcasing what robocop is really all about. i dont have any major complains, the game is very, very good and alot of fun, i was surprised on how good the city looks and how well they were able to capture the anarchy element going on around you, i really hope they make more games and i would also like to watch a video of you talking about the robocop movies.
YES please, RoboCop movie review sounds awesome.
And YES please, to the "Terminator: Resistance" question.
I just bought the game so far so good waited for the sale so I have been waiting to play this for awhile. Good vid!
I want the developers to keep doing RoboCop stuff, but I also really want them to do something with the Judge Dredd IP.
That would be so sick.
thanks
