      Damn straight! How “Hey Moe! Hey Dad!” never won an Emmy(s) is beyond me. This series is almost as funny as the Moe-Larry-Curly/Shemp shorts, if not more 😂😂😂😂

    As a kid, Shemp was my favorite. He was just so funny in his movements. Of course, I liked all of them, but later I really liked Larry because of his position. And this commentary on him 3/4 of the way through this episode is really awesome. And his voice was always my favorite.

    • @annode
      @annode Год назад +2

      Shemp and Larry are my favorites too, but I didn't appreciate Shemp fully until I was older. Larry is great because he can really take a hit! His reaction when he gets hit is always hilarious. He really looks and sounds like he got hurt. His floppy hair flying back and rebounding gives an extra dynamic to the hit. And he always looks unexpecting just before he gets it. Haha

    • @thriller985
      @thriller985 Год назад +1

      Shemp is the goat. You know what you gonna get with curly. He's funny as hell but predictable. Shemp was a loose cannon 😆 and his hair made everything look brutal. Like the difference between a wrestler with long hair like triple H getting hit vs stone cold getting hit. Trips will always look better because his hair is gonna go wild from impact.

    The Three Stooges make me laugh more than any entertainer ever. Moe is the funniest stooge. Spread out! . It wasnt just his slaps. Moe makes me lose it and I cant stop laughing even after its over. Curly and Shemp do the same and sometimes Larry.

    Enjoying this immensely. What little there is of moe speaking off the movie set he strikes me as a down to earth guy with good common sense. Without any doubt curly was the inspiration for break dancing.

    • @annode

      Curly on breaking...agreed. Some of the Moe pictures look to me like the impetus for the early Beatles haircuts.

    0:41-3:15 music to my ears. Soon after I’ve watched all of the Moe-Larry-Curly/Shemp episodes (DeRita was okay, never liked Besser), I’ve watched Abbott & Costello’s Universal’s horror/comedy movies like Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein (along with Wolfman and Count Dracula)/Invisible Man/Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde/Mummy and Mexican Hayride/Go to Mars/Naughty Nineties; followed by Laurel & Hardy’s Oscar-Winning short The Music Box
    15:12-15:47 slapstick at its finest
    27:07-28:58 up until I saw Slap Happy of Hey Moe! Hey Dad!, I had absolutely NO CLUE that Joan Howard Maurer & Phyllis Fine were extras in Pop Goes the Easel 😱
    36:56-44:44 music to my ears 🎼

      Watch Abbott and Costello's "Hold That Ghost" (1941)! *Shemp makes an appearance.* Also, Joan Davis is GREAT with Lou Costello. I generally don't care for the musical bits except when Joan and Lou dance together (Comedy ensues.) and usually fast forward through them, but I like the comedy parts. It's ~90% comedy.

    Rarely do the people around the Stooges laugh at what their doing, but there are a few shorts where they do, and it feels very unusual to see them taking notice and actually laughing.
    Another rarity are a few shorts where they are speaking jazz lingo, what we would call 'jive'.
    They speak that way all through the short(s). If anyone knows which ones they are, please tell me? Thanks.

    Imma get some flack for this but... Pound for pound the greatest laughs the earth has ever know is the three stooges and the jackass crew. I've never laughed so hard repeatedly so much per min as those two legendary crews. And dare I say if it wasn't for the Stooges there would be no CKY/jackass. Bam slapping Ryan Dunn = Moe slapping curly. The baby powder to the face (the antique) of a sleeping Raab Himself is = to a pie in the face from Moe. The pranks on the unsuspecting public is = to the stooges disrupting high society. The humour and one liners of the jackass crew is = to the witty banter of the stooges. Jackass is the last of the long branch off of the stooges.

    Abbott and who? Laurel and who? The Marx Brothers who? None of them could hold a candle to the Stooges. However, how did Whoopi’s Goldberg get included in a Stooge documentary? Hard to handle as she makes me physically nauseated just looking at her. I just turn the volume down on her parts. She seems to like them, does she realize they’re white?
