Brothers Moe and Shemp Howard join their pal, Larry Fine, to become The Three Stooges, which takes them from the stages of vaudeville to the heights of movie stardom, thought not without a cast change.

The only true Stooges were, Moe, Curly, Shemp and Larry Fine.... Their memories will live on forever....
Damn straight
@Godzilla - You mean Ted Healy?
@Godzilla, post however you wish.
Who are we to argue with an enormous fire-breathing reptile?
I would add curly Joe I liked him great movies in 1960s my era
Curly Joe did the best he could. They were old and they were going outside the stooges format with movies. He doesn't deserve as much hate. Besser should be scratched from these docs tho. He doesn't deserve the title stooge.
Imagine your father being moe and your uncles being shemp and curly!
Sounds like it would have been great.
@@KoshN
No doubt, Mac lol
That would be awesome
Oh hell yeah 😎
Super Awesome!!!! 🌞🌞🌞
I just find it kinda cool that the son of part of one of the best comic troupe in history is a cartoonist, like me. And a darn good one, too.
My dad was a huge stooge fan and I'd always watch it anytime I was with him. I'm 35 and through him I love the stooges and this is becoming one of my favorite series and it's only episode 2.
Any time I need a good Laugh, I Just pop in a Three Stooges DVD!
The Moe-Larry-Curly/Shemp episodes ALWAYS have me dying laughing. The quartet’s antics NEVER get old, even after 90+ years 😂😂😂😂
@@danbaranowski 2022 marks 100 years that Moe and Shemp first joined up with Ted Healy.
Amazing storytelling and wonderful production ! Great team of documentary artists .
Thankyou so much !!
I grew up in the 1960's, as a boy I watched Superman, Batman and the 3 stooges, my friends and I would constantly mimic them all but mostly curlys moves, like his shuffle, so many laughs, thank you for all the hours of entertainment. 🙏
Much gratitude for those that contributed to this series. Thank you so very much Paul. R.I.P Joan.
Been enjoying your documentaries out of order. I’m 44 and have been a stooge fan since I was 4. I had my Nana buy me my first 3 stooges biography book when I was 7 . It was an oversized yellow covered soft back book in black and white. I just looked it up and it was called The Three Stooges Scrapbook. I also still have my Moe ventriloquist doll. Thank you for documenting everything you know. Even though they were from generations prior I still feel very nostalgic when I watch them. Pure honest fun.
I love how they included some scenes from the 2000’s three stooges movie 😊
Love this series so far. Women Hater's is one of my favorite shorts!
Been loving seeing these.
0:41-3:15 music to my ears. I’m surprised Moe and Larry didn’t disband the Stooges after Shemp died because Joe was not a great Stooge; while Curly Joe was an okay successor to Curly and Shemp. Soon after I watched all of the Moe-Larry-Curly/Shemp episodes, Abbott & Costello and Laurel & Hardy fell into my slapstick circle
44:46-45:10 music to my ears 😂😂😂😂
I was surprised that they kept the train going till the end.
@@danbaranowski They could've, but they were still in contract with Columbia.
@@danbaranowski Moe wanted to disband the Stooges once and for all after Shemp died, but was talked out of it by his wife and Larry. Besides, Harry Cohn wouldn't let them out of their contract.
@@kennealy2148 And starve?
A documentary mini series on the Stooges. Who'd have thunk? Fantastic!
Rest in peace to Harry comb Moe Howard Larry fine
Jerome Lester Horowitz known as curly Howard.
Rest in peace to Joan Howard.
In rest in peace to the members that passed away and the stooges clan.
Shout out to Paul Howard for keeping the baton going.
And shout out to the curly g family tree for keeping the stooges alive.
The stooges will live on forever from the 1800s to today's generation.
WPIX-TV 11 NYC was the home of the tri-state area where the Three Stooges aired! It's kinda strange to not hear Curly with the high pitched voice he was famous for!
The best there was and best there is !!!! Moe Howard comedy genius!!!!!!
The answer is yes. My Stooges collection is pretty big ,started early 80 ,s collecting Been watching since 70,s
Love this series got to binge watch them all, thanks for sharing them...
There's a guy here that used to have an afternoon kids show on local t.v. and he used to run cartoons and 3 Stooges movies all the time and he could've easily been a twin of your dad and uncle Sam!! His name is (was?) Paul Shannon. I don't know if he's dead but, he probably is, by now. If you think, back in the early `60's he was at least in his 30's, he MIGHT be in his 90's, by now! For that matter, I'm sure he was even on stage with the Stooges the few times they played here and was very possibly the biggest reason they played here!
I just don't believe that Ted Healy was a monster. Moe remained friends with him and wept at the news of his murder. Helen wrote a poem in tribute to his friendship. All contemporary articles about him portray him as amiable. He loved animals. The only people who seem to have hated him were Frank Fay and L B Meyer. And, of course, Pat DiCicco.
Pretty good documentary series. First saw it on Decades Network in 2017.
Loving this series!!! I grew up watching the 3 Stooges and these guys were comic gold. You don't see the silliness and pratfalls like that today. These guys made people laugh for decades and I will continue to watch the Stooges while I am still on this earth. So, what is this movie with "actor stooges" that the clips are from?
22:33 Joan Crawford looked pretty good back then.
45:55 A young Lucille Ball on the far left.
Lucy was a hottie. 🔥 😘
Punch drunks is my favorite episode
I feel like Healy could have taken himself further if it wasn't for the jealousy.. he probably wanted himself to be the star and couldn't accept that "a few simple stooges," had more love from the people..
How come no mention of Bonnie Bonnell?
I staters watching the stooges when I was 4 or 5 at 700 am right before school never missed one time and copied moe hahahaha at school got sent home once cause of it I wouldn't change a thing I love moe and all the stooges nyuk nyuk nyuk
The theater marquee at the beginning of the video was in seattle .how do I know? Because the sign that says Bartell drugs. It's only in the seattle area.
Anyone know the name of the film where the clip at 27:24 comes from?
I'll agree on one Joe Besser was no stooge
Is that a moustache I see on young Moses H. Horwitz at 9:25 or is his upper lip dirty?
In my opinion women haters club was the best
Not just icons of comedy… the stooges are Alfa and omega of comedy if you don’t love the stooges … you don’t love America
You speak the absolute truth my friend.
Man, physical comedy wasn't really MGM's forte in the early 30s, in the way Columbia, Universal, Paramount or Hal Roach's productions were! They didn't make very funny pictures till the Marx Brothers started working at that studio, they couldn't even make good comedies w/Buster Keaton while he was signed there. They were better suited to light musical comedy than slap-shtick!
Whoopi Goldberg (Caryn Johnson) shouldn't be commenting on The 3 Stooges or the holocaust.
Damn! I was all set to watch this till I saw Whoopie Goldturd.... sorry... no way!
I’m just fast forwarding past that turd!
Yeah she's a corporate stooge. I still remember her crapping on Bernie Sanders and I'll never forgive her for that
Too bad. I used to love Whoopi till she got all “political”.
When will these people learn?
Wow, Ted Healy was such an asshole. He didn’t “fit” into the group, either. He just came across as an annoying jerk. Not funny.
So glad they finally got away from him!
Whoopi Goldberg isn't appropriate here :(
I fail to see how. She’s a Three Stooges fan, she’s knowledgeable about their career, she brings a lot from her own experience as a comedy performer…
What, exactly, is your problem with her?
Cringe.
