As an owner of the Pelican Catch 130...I have given this thing hell with no mercy. The original drive sucked but the replacement one has no issues at all. I have loaded this thing where you cant even see the kayak when ive gone kayak camping . I could paddle or pedal this thing all day long . Freshwater , saltwater , inshore or offshore never had any problems. Love my Pelican Catch 130.

Hello Aliex thanks for your great videos.
I have pelican catch 130 and i tested it on big waves inshore (about 6 ft swell) facing waves and it didn't flip over with the feeling of total control over my pelican in this big swells.
I had a small issue with the long bolts inside the drive fins and i fix it by myself.
It is a great kayak for the price range and it is very rigid.

I have The pelican 130 it’s a great fishing platform even for my 280 lb Atlas figure. The fwd rod holder is a big plus . Under the seat scuff makes for a great transducer placement And is protected by the whole design plenty of water drainage through the Drive adapter. I have not had any drive issues probably only because I use a modified water snake with an insert. Drive is back lol . The Vibe looks like a great kayak as well with a lot more features and is faster but it sits lower in the water . With all that said I’m going to buy my wife the vibe when its really for me 😀

I've owned the Dorado, a bunch of cheaper kayaks and the catch 130. I love my catch 130 it's light enough to take anywhere. Just bought the big fish three water heavy is all get out! But I like it better than I did my feel free Dorado. And I bought all these because of your reviews! Thank you! I would recommend the pelican catch 130 to anybody, as long as they're not wanting to stand up fish....

Great Video. Your right about crazy times. . The Vibe seat and Perch are big time back ordered, but like you said, this thing is next level. and the whole reason I am going Vibe. This company has great ideas. I am kinda a Hobie snob so it takes alot to get me to change but Vibe has garnered my attention! I do love the simplicity of Pelican. I would own a Pelican if I had a bunch of kayaks like you but I have to be a little more picky since 3 kayaks is pretty much my limit.

I have a shearwater 125 and it’s an okay kayak. The rudder and steering needs an update. It has a lower profile than my Bonafide 127 so it’s better for drift fishing as the wind doesn’t push it as much. The drive is nice for bass fishing. I prefer the Bonafide but each has it’s own strengths.

I've had the shearwater for 2 years now and I've beat the hell out of it and it's held up really well. My biggest issue, and this is no fault of vibe, is that it's really heavy and really damned big. Obviously this is great when your on the water because you have tons of space and stability, but storing this thing and dragging it to the water can be a huge pain. Even with a cart or landing gear. Again, not an issue if you can just back your truck up to where you want to launch or have the space, but if you don't, be prepared for some headaches.
That said, it's stable all day long on the water and has amazing storage options. I'm yet to go out and NOT have someone comment on how it looks. The pedal drive is nice but definitely takes up space. I've been hitting very shallow marshy backwaters so far this year for big channel cats and bowfin and this thing has allowed me to get into some great areas for them and pull in some absolute units. Vibe customer support has been really cool to work with too
Expect long wait times though for delivery. My x-drive system was ordered in December 2021 and arrived in late April 2022.

I had the Pelican Catch 110 and sold it to buy the Old Town PDL 106. Sooooo glad I made the switch because the Pelican Catch didn't have the reverse for the pedals. Aliex, I know have both these kayaks. I like the Catch 130 but it is slow and catches the wind real easy. My Shearwater I have only been out on it two days (around 7Hrs total). I have to say that the Shearwater feels more stable with the seat in the high postion than the Pelican in the stock position. The Shearwater is fast and doesnt catch the wind as much. But with the Shearwater you are going to have a wetter ride due to its lower profile. I would defiantly recommend either one!

Scuppers? The Pelican seems to only have 2 in the center and rear. The Vibe hasa full set. I looked up the Pelican and they say the drive pod is not water tight. So water can drain out there. But, that means water over the bow must traverse the boat to the cockpiut to drain. Could mean a wet day for the rider. The pelican has a lower overall capacity rating than the Vibe. The Vibe has 50 pounds more capacity. I read the customer reviews for the Pelican, most are centered on the drive. Even the new drive is mentioned as being faulty. I don't like the Vibe to start with. But, in a shoot out with the two I would take it over the Pelican.
