Joined a Vibe group on Facebook and Josh ended up messaging me personally about questions I had on the Cubera. Awesome dude, and proceeded to let me know to keep an eye out for Camino Journey kayaks which is the new company he's got going since leaving Vibe.
Vibe has great customer service too. I emailed them with some questions and they got back to me right away with ACTUAL answers and explanations. Love Vibe. I do wish they were built in US.

I ordered my shearwater slate blue as soon as they became available I also ordered my wife a slate blue Sea ghost 110. this is the first time I have seen the new color on video and I am blown away how awesome it looks. Can't wait for them to show up and spring to get here. Thanks for the video and thanks Josh for building such a great company.
I really like the concept of this kayak and having things on as an add on. Someone could buy this kayak to get themselves onto the water and paddle it and if they decide later on they could add the pedal drive to it instead of going out and spending more money to get the same thing. Smart idea would have saved me some money if I knew about this kayak.

Bro I just made my first purchase I got it in slate blue it’s my first kayak and now I don’t even want another bass boat now my wife wants her one instead of me buying another bass boat thank you for this great video buddy I was gonna get the x drive but the dealer in America’s ga didn’t have anymore so I had to buy a paddle but I got the vibe paddle and man I’m going on the water again today with nothing but amazing vibes!!
brooo having a boat is just dealing with motor issues, i have two broken motors in the garage lol well 3 haha if the drive breaks you can still paddle, enjoy it

Love that you got a company rep to help set it up and give his perspective of the kayak. the shearwater hull looks like a cross of the Old salty and the predator Old Town designs. The best of both. Inovations were very good. I always thought more rod holders were a good idea. The different lashing abilities were outstanding. Looks like a good kayak can't wait for the review after about 3 months of use.

Hello Aliex. I am torn between the Recon 120 and the Shearwater 125. I will mainly bass and inshore saltwater with whichever one I get. What is you opinion. I kind of feel you can't go wrong with either for that type of fishing. This would be my first kayak purchase so trying to get some real world feedback
@@AliexFolgueira You definitely should. Pro and cons of each peddle system, flipper vs propeller etc. For the type of fishing I mentioned earlier probably more for the bass side of things where it gets pretty weedy does either one have a disadvantage as far as flipper versus propeller?

I really like how simple this boat is to rig. Having the ability to add the bixby, pedal or paddle right out of the gate is amazing. Maybe i could lucky enough to have vibe send me one of these, lol. I'm trying to decide on which kayak to get, this or the nu canoe unlimited. decisions, decisions...
And it is easy to go from paddle to pedal or motor in a snap too, keep working on it it took me 4 years to get them to send one 😎 I had to buy them before 😀
Aliex my concern is stability i do have bad wheels but peddling will help but standing occasionally is a must im 5'10" 265 im a fatboy Al but i need stability is this a great yak for that? I love the flexibility of interchangeable parts like pedal paddle and bixpi motor and open deck. Help me make sure i buy the yak i want and need brother. I was going for a big fish 120 but at 35" width its same as the shearwater im almost sold.

Aliex in my country there is a small group of people who say that the Sw125 is not suitable for the sea due to its very low keel and its seat too high. What's your opinion about it?
Vibe kayaks are cool. I tested a Vibe in the stream pond next to Holston River Outfitters. I backed out on buying when my money decided to pay for other things. The only thing I don't like about Vibe is they like to put an island in the middle of their boats. In this case its actually kind of cool being a fish finder box and pushed forward.
I don't use mine anymore, I had to have the seat all the way back and could not reach the rails. When I used it as a paddle only kayak it was fine as the seat could be more forward.
I’ve owned a VIBE seaghost 130 before I upgraded to an old town sportsman PDL. Looked heavily at getting the shearwater but with no reverse on the pedal drive I had to pass. If you buy a hobie pedal drive with reverse capabilities to use on the shearwater you’re in another grand. Plus accessories were on back order because of COVID and with all the additional cost of the accessories, buying a hobie drive....all in it was more expensive than my Old Town Sportsman 120 PDL and I’d have to wait to get accessories. Not knocking VIBE or the Shearwater. Great company that builds quality kayaks at a fair price. The fact that you can buy the base model and upgrade to pedal or motor is great. I understand hobie’s patent isn’t up on the reverse drive but that was the deal breaker for me on this yak and other manufacturers that are now using a hobie style fin drive system.

Suggestion for Vibe, keep your current business model with China for the lower cost models, but make one new model built entirely in the USA in one of the Southern states. The model could even be named something to reflect that state such as Louisiana “Bayou”, Florida “Everglades”, or Texas “Star”. The model would of course cost more because it would take more to make. Start a small production run as an experimental business model and good PR for the overall company. When I first started kayaking I wanted cheap to just get on the water to see if I loved it. After that I wanted quality, and was willing to pay more.
I'm super torn between this and a wilderness systems recon 120. After pedals are added.... They are about the same price - the recon is available locally though and the vibe....just isn't. Any words of advise?
Recon is more stable and have instant reverse, the hull is not as nice as the vibe and the seat is also lacking, my preference would be vibe with Bixpy but that’s me

I did buy one of these, before I bought the vibe I was really leaning toward the bonafide ss107. Glade I found this kayak because I believe this is a more versatile kayak.
I'm looking at getting the Vibe Shearwater because it has the ability to peddle and with my bad elbow not helping me paddle. I am seriously consider getting a Peddle Kayak.
I was going to buy one and couldn't get ahold of one because of covid, so i went with something else at the time. I might try this out when im ready to buy again.
I almost got a Vibe until I learned they are not made in the USA, ever tested out a Kaku Wahoo 12.5? That may be my next purchase, right out of Tarpon Springs, FL.
Hey Steve, Kaku makes some cool stuff but they’re made in China, too. In fact, the factory they use is only about 30 minutes from one of the factories that makes Vibe kayaks. Pre-covid I spent about 3 months every year working at the factory over there.

I have a Nucanoe Flint, and gonna be getting something longer to go with it, one that paddles well. Maybe their Pursuit, or that new Limited model. I called Friday and was told to call after 2pm. I did and it went straight to voicemail. I'm even offered to pick it up at the warehouse.
That is the point man living the dream until it kills you. The question is simply this did you appropriately a lot time discussion build and fish normally I would add in clean and cook but the build was the important part here. The instructions due to personal understanding of the kayak well that's the reason you showed up with the kayaks anyways my question was when will I be able to get a tear drop trailer for my kayak I would like to spend a week on the ocean I was thinking something like to Ocean Kayak and two teardrops but the tear drops linked together one of them can be for when you want to be Undercover and the other one can be a dock where you do your fishing and laundry and food prep Etc anyways you simply take those four kayaks and turn it turn them into a trimaran a double teardrop Center which will basically be a half covered barge and the Ocean Kayak as Outriggers and we can set those up with generators in the water all night long to keep the lights on of course they will also be charging I figure if we wake up one of those mornings during the week and decide not to make it a marathon day but to just enjoy that day and relax we can throw out the box kite and tack. I am an adventurer who truly believes that any Adventure can be fun and enjoyable if you design in your luck and build to fulfill your needs. I have already had a vacation much like this where I picked up a pair of mickmacks and ran them in tandem kind of like a Hobie Cat except that I used the sheet style from a Chinese junk. My wife & I toured three of the Great Lakes. That week we only put in for groceries.

you should include something like the landing gear with your kayaks.. these are heavy especially for a short, old, female muscling it into a vehicle

I did buy one of these, before I bought the vibe I was really leaning toward the bonafide ss107. Glade I found this kayak because I believe this is a more versatile kayak.

I almost got a Vibe until I learned they are not made in the USA, ever tested out a Kaku Wahoo 12.5? That may be my next purchase, right out of Tarpon Springs, FL.
Kaku are made in China too, what phone do you use ?
Hey Steve, Kaku makes some cool stuff but they’re made in China, too. In fact, the factory they use is only about 30 minutes from one of the factories that makes Vibe kayaks. Pre-covid I spent about 3 months every year working at the factory over there.

I have a Nucanoe Flint, and gonna be getting something longer to go with it, one that paddles well. Maybe their Pursuit, or that new Limited model. I was looking at Kaku thinking wow Tarpon Springs, love that area.

I called Friday and was told to call after 2pm. I did and it went straight to voicemail. I'm even offered to pick it up at the warehouse.

That is the point man living the dream until it kills you. The question is simply this did you appropriately a lot time discussion build and fish normally I would add in clean and cook but the build was the important part here. The instructions due to personal understanding of the kayak well that's the reason you showed up with the kayaks anyways my question was when will I be able to get a tear drop trailer for my kayak I would like to spend a week on the ocean I was thinking something like to Ocean Kayak and two teardrops but the tear drops linked together one of them can be for when you want to be Undercover and the other one can be a dock where you do your fishing and laundry and food prep Etc anyways you simply take those four kayaks and turn it turn them into a trimaran a double teardrop Center which will basically be a half covered barge and the Ocean Kayak as Outriggers and we can set those up with generators in the water all night long to keep the lights on of course they will also be charging I figure if we wake up one of those mornings during the week and decide not to make it a marathon day but to just enjoy that day and relax we can throw out the box kite and tack. I am an adventurer who truly believes that any Adventure can be fun and enjoyable if you design in your luck and build to fulfill your needs. I have already had a vacation much like this where I picked up a pair of mickmacks and ran them in tandem kind of like a Hobie Cat except that I used the sheet style from a Chinese junk. My wife & I toured three of the Great Lakes. That week we only put in for groceries.

@@AliexFolgueira They had slate blue and two other colors in stock for 3 to weeks but not Raven. Was waiting for raven. Their website showed out of stock for all colors as of 2/20. Was checking daily. I’m digging that slate blue though.

But then by time you buy the drive then the Bixby drive you are looking at and $2000 so at the end you are paying around $3400 to $4000 that's a lot of cheddar to out down lol
