Discovering the Bee Gees? Oh yeah. Robin and Maurice were fraternal twins. Barry is the only one still breathing, just released an album. They reinvented themselves at least 3 times. Saturday Night Fever blew through all the stats.
A couple of weeks ago Barry Gibb did an interview and said He and his brothers could not read music. He said he just found out notes have numbers. He said they never had training and did not know they were not suppose to be able to do certain harmonies. He said that they wouldd try to match different sounds or if one brother made a sound the others matched it. He said when they wrote songs they wrote the sound first and then added the lyrics to fit the music.
That's so funny. Honestly they probably became so good at this as they must have loved listening to music and practising and trying out different sounds, though they obviously have to have a very good ear for music and specially as they were creating their music without actually being able to read music. But perhaps that helped too, if you don't follow some notes strictly it keeps ypu more free and creative as no one can tell you it's not supposed to be that way, that's a wrong note.
These guys are brothers, raised in Australian, though originally from England. They were singing on Australian TV when they were young teens. Barry, with the falsetto is the oldest, and the other 2 are non-identical twins. They had a younger brother who had a solo singing career, but died in his 20's. These 3, Barry, Maurice and Robyn have always sung as a trio. They wrote their own songs. Sadly The twins have passed away and only Barry survives. They wrote and sang the music for Saturday Night Fever with the iconic dance done by John Travolta. I love your reaction!
Actually, they were born on the Isle of Man (a self-governing British Crown Dependency in the Irish Sea) but moved to England in the 1950s and then to Scarborough near Brisbane in Australia. Technically their nationality is Isle of Man but Australia is where they grew up and started their singing career.
These beautiful men were so talented with their song writing skills and their amazing voices. They were a big part of the 70’s that i grew up in. It’s great to watch younger generations listen for the first time to the music we took for granted. Thanks for sharing.
They are brothers... I think that's why their harmonies are so so so on point. They were harmonizing like that as teenagers and didn't even know what to call it. There is a fantastic documentary on HBO Max about them right now called "How do you mend a broken heart". The brother in the middle, Barry Gibb is the only brother still alive. They also had a younger brother, Andy Gibb who had a very successful solo career. So much talent in one family!!
If you want to see a really heart felt interview with Barry not long after Robin died. It is really presented well and the interviewer did an amazing job. Barry is such a lovely guy, so down to earth and genuine. ruclips.net/video/HxkSNV7HtYM/видео.html
Interesting enough, according to the new documentary, that Barry was a part of, Andy was joining The Bee Gees and died like the week before the official announcement.
@@lilyday115 yep that song and the rest of the yellow album IMO are far better songs than their most popular stuff it's all great still but I prefer everything on the yellow album to the ones listed above
I think reaction videos are free promotion for them and anyone. Honestly it is not taking anything away of even one person watches this and falls in love with thier music or product. They will go and buy it on spotify, or find cds, or find a way to go watch the original. Which just brings them profit. Why reaction channels get blocked is beyond me.
They were raised primarily in Australia, the two on the outside are twins (Robin and Maurice) and Barry in the middle is the oldest brother. He's the only left alive, they had a younger brother Andy who passed away in the late 80s. The Bee Gees, or the Brothers Gibb, started singing back in the late 50s and their style changed per the times. They were perfect for the disco era, Staying Alive, et al but do check out their music prior to the falsetto singing. They were amazing. Massachusetts song is one you need to check out for sure. When they sing their souls are all connected, it's magical. Love that your generation is getting to know my generation's music, we love sharing it with you!
I watched a documentary on them and they said their biggest live and influence was R&B. They've been a singing group since they were children. I loved your review .
They been singing since Barry in the middle was. 9. The twins. Robin & Maurice was 6. Crazy right , they are awesome💞💞💞. Love your reaction, and dang your cute. 💖
They had been singing together since they were kids. The twins Robin and Maurice at the age of 5 and older brother Barry (Who is singing lead) at 9. So it does come naturally to them. They didn't read a note of music but they wrote all their own songs as well as songs for other artist and played multiple instruments. They were truly one of the most talented groups of our time.
This is my favourite reaction to this fabulous group. You threw in a couple of gems there. "Who raised these dudes?" "These guys weren't invited to the cookout, these guys hosted it". "These guys are smooth. Some honey smoked ribs, no grilled chicken. These guys just don't miss" and yep, you definitely are glad thus guy is not from your generation. I remember the tongues-hanging-out adoration Barry Gibb incited, just by being Barry Gibb. You nailed it my friend. And the harmonies are just heavenly. Love this group. Thanks again. We need more Bee Gees beautiful music.
Oh my God you crack me up! And to hear all these older music classics we grew up with 40 years ago being discovered and enjoyed by the younger generation just gives me chills. Love your videos!
Everyone gives barry, the guy in the middle, props for singing those solo high notes, and they are for sure justified. BUT, props NEED to be given to the man singing the high harmony on the verses, Robin, everything he sings in this song is higher than what barry (guy in the middle) is singing.
Oh Robin's voice was so beautiful, soulful and haunting, and very strong up to the end. He was vastly underrated but he could make you cry with his voice. And the Sun Will Shine, Really and Sincerely, In The Summer Of His Years, I Started A Joke. I Can See Nobody. Oh, I could go on
I lost my mind when I heard this song for the first time about 2 weeks ago. I called my daddy and fake cussed him out because he never played it for me before. Now I got it on repeat. 😭🙌🏽 I love this damn song. 😂😭
Barry, the only survivor of 3 younger brothers, still has that beautiful falsetto. They grew up where my grandmother was born. The local council even re named the street they lived on to Bee Gees Way, and erected a statue in their honour. 💙

Hope you enjoy them.... Thanks for the reaction of the BeeGee’s 💕💕

Susie Q ..... Yes I know that and I’m aware of how long they were out and how big they’ve always have been.... But I was a preteen and a teen in the 80’s and that’s when I was aware of who they were and loved their music..... The disco era was so big and they were a big part of that.... And I do know that Robin had a lot of the hits... They each all had quite a bit of music under their belts..... I just was so fond of Barry..... And even though I started out liking them a lot at 10 years old ..... I never stopped.... But yea I’m very aware of all of that.... And to me I happen to think that Maurice had such a beautiful voice..... I will always love the BeeGees!! And I’m so glad that a lot of others recognize who they are and that they’ve also wrote a lot of songs for different artist to sing them..... Danced with many young ladies back in the day to music like this. Even with some who I rarely associated with . Back then it didn't really matter . Good times.
Followed them since i was 10 years old and 42 years later still in love with their music. Its absolutely flawless. Love your reaction dude. Im a white woman and your reaction is adorable.
It's like they invented harmony. Live band, no auto tune, no computerized voice enhancement and one mic for all three of them. Back then (1979). singing was just pure, raw talent. By the date of this recording, the BeeGees had already been singing together professionally for 21 years when Barry was 12 years old and the twins were just 9. All of the Gibb brothers including little brother, Andy, could sing in that amazing falsetto voice. But Barry was the master. He was able to exorcise more control over it. The Gibbs were, in my opinion, the most multi-talented families in music history. They wrote their own songs as well as writing songs for many other musical greats. This song was included on a compilation album to benefit UNICEF. There were many artists who recorded songs on the album, but the BeeGees gave all the royalties from this song in any form. In, at that time, an unprecedented move, they also gave UNICEF the publishing rights to Too Much Heaven. To date, Too Much Heaven has raised over 11 million dollars for UNICEF. In 1967, they wrote a song called To Love Somebody which appeared on their third album titled BeeGees 1st, but their first internationally, as the first two albums were only released in Australia. BeeGees 1st was released in July '67. Otis Redding was set to record To Love Somebody on his next album. Sadly, Otis was killed in a plane crash, Dec 10,1967. I thought for the longest time that they didn't record it themselves until after the death of Otis Redding. Their brother Andy Gibb had a very successful solo career as well until his death on March 10,1988. Just 5 days after turning 30. Andy had developed myocarditis, inflammation of the heart, which was brought on by a viral infection While most people recover from myocarditis, Andy's body was unable to fight the infection due to his history of drug use. Soo sad!
Bee gees are the harmonic expression of heavenly realm, this might be my favorite song of all time. It's on that eternal realm level, breaks all boundaries all races, all cultures.
I love how you say you want to play this at your wedding in ten years, when the song will be 50 years old. This song came out in 1979. It's already 42 years old. Lol. THEY ARE TIMELESS!! RIP to all of the Gibb brothers who are no longer with us ~ Robin, Maurice, and Andy.

But perhaps that helped too, if you don't follow some notes strictly it keeps ypu more free and creative as no one can tell you it's not supposed to be that way, that's a wrong note.
They played by ear, which is amazing in its self. Their talents were unlimited
Are you sure? "He saaid"? Lol jk that's badass
They were the soundtrack of the seventies. Saturday Night Fever
Thanks for this wonderful song and reaction.
There's something unique to siblings harmonies! Beautiful! 😻
They always harmonized perfectly...but it wasn't till the 70s Barry discovered he could also sing stong falsetto...the rest is history
The Brothers Gibb were raised in Queensland Australia after emigrating from England.
Ahhhh. But also Lakemba in Sydney. Similar ages to my mother at the time.
They started as the “Bee Gees” in Redcliffe, Queensland, Australia
These brothers have a phenomenal connection, it’s why they sound so good
They're brothers who have sung together since they were children.
when all 3 brothers get that vibrato in sync it's food for the soul!
Barry is back at top of the world music charts in 2021 with the Greenfields album
My father got it for his birthday.
Great music resonates across all races because the themes of love and heartbreak are universal.
These beautiful men were so talented with their song writing skills and their amazing voices. They were a big part of the 70’s that i grew up in. It’s great to watch younger generations listen for the first time to the music we took for granted. Thanks for sharing.
Men with charisma, showing confidence, expressing melodic romantic words will capture women every time! Lol
Not to be forgotten, they were damn sexy, too 😊
How you doin, doll?
I saw Barry in concert in Chicago 5 years ago. He was incredible.
I could sing with my siblings and we wouldn't sound like this. You be covering your ear. This was one talented family
If you want to see a really heart felt interview with Barry not long after Robin died. It is really presented well and the interviewer did an amazing job. Barry is such a lovely guy, so down to earth and genuine. ruclips.net/video/HxkSNV7HtYM/видео.html
Glad u r enjoying our generations music. Feel in love to this song, still am 46 yrs later... how ? It's the music man!
Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb, Robin Gibb. Then there was Andy Gibb who was on his own. The Gibb brothers are amazing!!!!
RIP Andy, Maurice and Robin.
Interesting enough, according to the new documentary, that Barry was a part of, Andy was joining The Bee Gees and died like the week before the official announcement.
“Nights on Broadway” is my favorite Bee Gees song! They started singing together in the 50s. They are also masterful songwriters.
Mine too!
@@sole.81 isn’t awesome?
It's amazing that this fine group has lasted the test of time, a half-century later~
Bee Gees Songs, "Stayin` Alive", "Jive Talkin`", "Night Fever", "How Deep Is Your Love", "Night On Broadway" and more.
To Love Somebody. Required Bee Gees listening.
@@bradycook593 Add "Gotta Get a Message to You" and "Emotion"
And i started a joke
Manhattan, Robn, te one that was on the left, does that song greatly.
@@lilyday115 yep that song and the rest of the yellow album IMO are far better songs than their most popular stuff it's all great still but I prefer everything on the yellow album to the ones listed above
This song is one to just hold your lady close and let the feelings come through and embrace the moment!
I absolutely love when the younger generation digs deep into the 70’s and 80’s and find what amazing music we experienced
You're in luck. BEE GEES rarely get blocked and they have 22+ albums full of hits.
1912 Mining Disaster, I started a Joke, Spicks and Specks, Massachusetts, How can You Mend a Brocken Heart..... It is quite a catalogue.
Watch their HBO special. By the time this song was a hit they’d been singing for over 20 years.
All three had beautiful voices. Each a talent on their own.
Robin had the most beautiful voice in the group, lots of vibrato.
Such tight vocal Harmony.
The song is itself is heart piercing. BeeGee perfection.
I don’t know what I’m enjoying most, listening to the BeeGees or watching your reaction. 😁
The Gibb brothers were a phenomenon that will never happen again in our lifetime. Thank God they produced such beautiful music.
This reactor, with showing sensitivity, versatility, charisma and open to all genres,is going to blow up!
One dude looks like a Monty Python actor... the other looks like a 70s tech nerd and between them is a god in mortal form ...
I know what you mean. While most performers today are a fast food snack, these guys are dinner, dessert, and a glass of wine by the fire after.
LOVE the Bee Gees. Glad they younger generation is getting to hear them sing. Wish the were still alive.
"I'm hosting the cookout"😄😄
This is a good one. Disco was a history making era, and this song opened up some eyes. Thank you.
Great reaction young man. Someone from a totally different generation appreciates this as the talent that it is. Barry is FINE and can sing!!!!
The brothers Gibb, legends in the R&B game not to be confused with disco
Spot on.
The bee gees are a major music must. I loved them back in the day. And recently i been craving their music. This is awesome.
Everyone gives barry, the guy in the middle, props for singing those solo high notes, and they are for sure justified. BUT, props NEED to be given to the man singing the high harmony on the verses, Robin, everything he sings in this song is higher than what barry (guy in the middle) is singing.
I agree, Robin's falsetto was often underestimated. A lot of people don't know, that the falsetto in" Living together" is his and not Barry's.
@@lunarebeccaada4191 thank you! Robin needs more recognition like this!!!
For the record, all three do sing in falsetto
Charles Daunt - And Robin had a soulful vibrato that neither brother....or anyone since.... could match.
The BeeGees had amazing songs, and they also wrote a bunch of hits for others. Heartbreaker by Dionne Warwick is so good!
Barry, the only survivor of 3 younger brothers, still has that beautiful falsetto. They grew up where my grandmother was born. The local council even re named the street they lived on to Bee Gees Way, and erected a statue in their honour. 💙
I really enjoyed watching your reaction.... The BeeGees will always be one of a kind.... I love em!!💕 I loved hearing how much you liked that song..... They have so many hits.... Please check out ... How Deep Is Your Love.....And ....Alone......Also.....Jive Talking.....Well actually also check out the full concert “One Night Only” from 1997 in Vegas.... Their music really has you thinking.... When Disco was out in the 70’s they were a big hit! So you could look up.... Staying Alive... And You Should Be Dancing....And more... But they also had a younger brother Andy Gibb who was a singer too..... Look him up also....His songs were... I just want to be your everything.....Words.....Don’t Throw It All Away.... Hope you enjoy them.... Thanks for the reaction of the BeeGee’s 💕💕
Lisa Lauderdale Trusty - They had big hits in the 60's and most people now aren't even aware of them. Back then Robin and Barry shared the lead. Their first hits were with Robin on lead. He had, IMO, the best voice of the three.
They will always be the best in the music industry to me.....💕💕
@@lisalauderdaletrusty5703 - I'm an oldie. I was a teen in the 60's, born the same year (and day) as the twins in 1949. The first Bee Gees song I heard was in 1968 and sung by Robin and his voice blew me away. OK, I'm guilty, I'm a Robin fan, LOL. My second favorite was Maurice, an amazing singer and even more amazing musician and arranger. I'm glad more people are aware and becoming aware that the Bee Gees were three tremendously talented brothers each with their own special talents and contributions. Cheers.
Susie Q ..... Wow!! Then I bet you did know a lot about them that I wouldn’t of had..... I can honestly say I love them all ... Even Andy Gibb but much favorite of all time would be Maurice💕 I even thought he was so sexy! But they are all great singers.... It’s just at 10 and 11 years old in 1980 I started really listening to them and Barbara Streisand and Neil Diamond and Barry Barry Manilow ..... Actually too many to even say.... But I was about the only kid that loved and appreciate it good music!! I’m glad to know that you were there in the 60’s as they started singing..... Thanks for the conversation... God bless you....🙏ALWAY’S🙏!!💕💕
Your “stink face” is priceless!🤣
"Honey smoked bbq ribs"
Love it......lol
I was born in the early 70s and I remember turning the radio on and hearing their music all the time! No computers or auto tune, just raw talent! These 3 boys used to sing together as kids in their bedroom and their mother thought they were listening to the radio! They were born with a true gift!! R. I. P. Robin and Maurice!! We love and miss you!!❤️🫶
Just imagine dancing to this with your girl in your arms Vibing on each other and vibing to the music , Those were great days and great girls.
Loved your reaction to this! Greatest group EVER!
You crack me up. You're right, Barry stole millions of hearts. Beauty unmatched.
Young one, I love your reaction to the legendary BeeGees. They were raised by their parents and became singing sensations as children. They had many huge hits in every decade, wrote hit songs for other big stars and movie soundtracks. Everybody who loves music should listen to the Saturday Night Fever movie soundtrack (mostly BeeGees songs) and watch their video of their live performance in the 1990s called One Night Only. You have no idea how influential their unique sound and song-writing has steered modern music. Blessings!
I just found you this morning you just made this 70s childs day, dont care what any one says Bee Gees pure talent....💝 your awesome, keep enjoying the best generation ever , love was our thing....
100% agree on the Taylor Swift thing, as most singers & music today is like grilled chicken.
I'm 55 and had a crush on Barry (lead singer) when I was 13 (LOL). WE had the best music!! It really make's me smile to see a young man enjoying the music we loved. #MusicUnites
Thank you!
I think we all had a crush on Barry ❤
Dad, Hugh was a big band leader and drummer. Mon, Barbara was a singer.
Your reactions are excellent, joyful, and to think, you got a life of exploring great older music ahead of you. God Bless You and your family.
I love seeing this generations reaction to the Bee Gees cuz i was a kid when they were out and i had such a crush on them
I love the BeeGees and it is so sad that Robin and Morris passed away 🥺💔🙏 the will always be remembered and it's sad to know that now Barry Gib is alone without his brother's 🥺💔🙏there angels to me 🥺💔🙏
I can’t believe anyone has never heard of The Bee Gees! Their music is all over the radio stations and movies. And why would anyone think they’re black or women?
It is so great to see your reactions. I luv you for loving this music. The music world is your oyster...enjoy it all. 🦋
Back than we do the slow dance for this song.
Danced with many young ladies back in the day to music like this. Even with some who I rarely associated with . Back then it didn't really matter . Good times.
Back in the day... At the roller rink... It was the couple's only skake song.

They may not be from your generation hon but you put this song on and slow dance with the one you love and the song will take you there...💓
This was my band growing up in the 70's...had albums, posters everything
Never tire of Barry's amazing voice and their songwriting!
It makes my heart so happen that there is another person to add to the BeeGees Fan family. Oooohhh The BeeGees make my life so happy
The Bee Gees are amazing for ever.
Their brother Andy was a real star by himself..
Great reaction! You should definitely check out their song, Jive Talking, you’ll love it.
Soo sad!
Young man back in the days when the Bee Gees were at their height we used to call them the panty dropping a group and you can see why
I see you nephew. This auntie loves your channel. ❤
