Genshin only has 1 thing better than Wuwa - The R34 that comes out of it. Edit: I completely agree that Wuwa's models are far superior to Genshin's, it's just that a lot of the goats like vicineko aren't doing any Wuwa stuff. Genshin's got some REALLY good stuff purely because it's been out for much longer, so I expect Wuwa R34 to catch up, but for now, it's quite dry.

Like a lot of the changes in wuwa were literally something I sent them as a suggestion months ago and it was absolutely terrifying just how much of it they implemented that I wish I screenshotted my entire suggestion letter just to show how much fixes happened that matched mine. Not saying I'm responsible just moreso saying I felt actually listened to, as I had a literal page of suggestions and majority that I could remember writing down were fixed when I came back to the game. Heck even the minor annoyance I had of always having to switch to a gunner character because I'm an water/ice main and we dont have one for ice yet was fixed with my ask of a low damage shooting gadget. And the granblue fantasy system of skipping a cutscene still gives a summary was added too which I learned of after granblue fantasy relink and much much more things addressed. It's particularly why I hope they clean up the last few hitches with the camera/lock on and I forget what else so the game can just receive pure content updates with no more need of prior fixing hence forth(Obviously there'll still be a few bugs at times). I am actually extremely interested in their growth. I'm not even a gacha player I usually just play regular priced games and indies but this gacha game is starting to weasel its way for me.

I don't like either game stories but the "their girl" part made me realise how similar both games are in how bland they make female characters. I wouldn't even know which girl you'r refering to because the entire wuwa female cast are mc's groopies. They might as well be moving collectable figurines, each new female is just one more empty shell added to the collection of the harem. Same for genshin, choose your figurine : the dancing oranged haired one, the dancing white haired one, the brainless one that looks like a fish, the purple one who's personaity changes whenever the devs want, the depressed goat one, the sly fox one who only makes dumb choices in the story, the always smiling one (I'll let you guess that last one considering how many fit the description)

@@bomberist i said specially for the beginning, after the beginning is still very enjoyable, because once you know how the elements interact and you can gear your characters, genshin has like, 88 characters in total, the game is good at keeping itself fresh, and pretty much every unit is viable as long as you know how they interact with elemental reaction, i could hyper invest on my amber (starter unit) and do nukes with her CA and that team is unironically able to clear abyss, its up to the player. but ofc it can get boring if all you do is play the same 4 characters and spam Q and E, its your fault as a player, the game has dozens of characters to try and most of them are viable on a lot of teams (although obviously not the best choice still able to clear the hardest content)

Honestly that's why I main wuwa. I have only spent ten bucks on wuwa vs maybe 300 in genshin. I got all I desired from how generous kuro is. And I feel strong for f2p. I still vividly remember the Genshin daily mission where we have to escort a damn balloon like 5 mins just to get 10 primos. While WuWa only took 5-10 mins to finish all the daily and dungeons for mats together. Kuro devs really appreciate the player's time.
At the end of the day, people chose Genshin over WUWA. Twitch viewers: 10k for Genshin, 1.2k for WUWA. Genshin has more revenue, more players, and a more active community. Wuwa should have went with their own path which is creating an actual dark open world game with different gacha system and progression so you would have completely 2 different experience even if you play both. To be 100% honest in "Echoes vs Artifacts" argument. Genshin, as well as HSR have a W, because it lets you use unwanted 0 lvl artifacts to level up the artifact you want. In Wuwa you can only use the exp material for echoes. In addition, genshin lets you dismantle unwanted artifacts into exp materials for artifacts. I love wuwa, but leveling up echoes feels MUCH slower because of that.
I don't play genshin but since it's pretty much the same as hsr, for me getting desired stats in wuwa is faster than hsr. You don't feel the lack of relic exp cause you don't lvl up relics unless they have good sub stats. Also in wuwa you can use leveled up echos to lvl up other echo, but yeah it would be better if they let you dismantle not leveled up echos to get materials. Or at least keep giving events like the current ones which gives a lot of mats

Gacha Mechanics: Definitely no brainer, WuWa is infinitely superior here. 100% guarenteed weapon banner, purchaseable character dupes (2) in the store, less amount of pulls to hit pity etc.. Parkour and open world traversal: again WuWa wins. Infinite stamina outside of battles, wall running etc... Open world material grinding: Again WuWa better, in-game materials tracker, materials reset daily. Combat: subjective I guess, but I most definitely prefer WuWa's combat. Graphics: 1.3 solidified WuWa as the superior looking game for me. Character models are honestly insane in WuWa. Music: Only category I give to Genshin, not to say WuWa music is bad but coming from PGR is definitely not as good as it could be. Story: I'm sorry even with 1.0 in WuWa being atrocius I still enjoyed it a lot more than Genshin due to no paimon and no character standing yapping like crazy, also skip button with story summary in WuWa so it's an easy win for me. Min max mechanics: I prefer WuWa echo system to artifacts in Genshin, I feel it's easier to get a character up and running in WuWa than it is in Genshin. Quality of life features: Come on... Kuro absolutely destroys Hoyo here. There's no way where Genshin is a better game in any universe to me.
This isn't dick riding for genshit, but the elemental system, regardless of how good or bad it is, is more enjoyable then the standard slop of other gacha's that have none. Its at least a nice change of pace to an otherwise monotonous "No reactions" games. If it was like that then, you'd just instantly swap out old characters instantly with new ones, cause they do the same job better, period. Not like most don't do this already but it would be even more abundantly clear to see, it would reduce the value of characters + it would give even less incentive for new players to ever touch old units/veterans to ever build older units. This would cause the issue of useless characters that just use up space and it would just look horrid for a new player to see that every character that is at least 2 years old is literally unusable or obsolete. It would only become worse and worse as more regions come out and see that out of 7 or 8 regions only 1 is still good and the other is eh whilst everything else is literally unusable or just dead content, but that's just an observation plus personal opinions from having played gacha's like that.

I pretty much agree on all of his points except artifact-echo systems, they're basically both an rng grind and getting the piece with the right main stat means nothing cause substats matter (in fact they matter even more in wuwa if you look at the distribution of their values). With that being said I honestly think genshin is miles ahead in terms of story, world and ost which is the main and perhaps only reason I continue to play the game.
@@toukoenriaze9870 in genshin main stat is roughly 50% of the overall artifact strength (it's about 9 substat rolls vs 3-4 base substats + 5 rolls = 8-9 rolls). In wuwa you can have up to 42 CV on one echo from substats only while the main stat is 44 CV; throw there some other useful stats like damage bonuses, atk or er and your main stat ends up less than 50% of an echo value. So what I said is true.
It's the opposite, they matter less in wuwa than genshin since with garbage substats you can compensate with skill, while in genshin if you have garbage artifacts there's nothing you can to except grind again since you won't do damage with garbage substats

I saved up all the free standard banner curency in WuWa and got one of the standard weapons to R5 today. I still havn't exchanged my free 5 star weapon either.
The problem is that Wuwa isnt really doing much better than Genshin and cant keep up in other regards at all. So if you say that Genshin is a bad game, you automatically say that Wuwa is an even worse game. Another point is something that people that do not actually play the games do not get (and there is lots of people that only cry online and dont even really play): Wuwa is not F2P friendly. Sure, the weapon banner is 100% but you are borderline forced to pull for the sig weapon for each character because the difference between that weapon and "F2P" options is the worst amongs the big 4 gachas right now, BY A MASSIVE MARGINE. So yeah, only 80 pulls instead of potentially 160 pulls but those 80 pulls are borderline mandatory without permanently feeling like the character is lacking extremely. Another way how people are absolutely clueless and only take things at face value.
I like you to do the new abyss with just free characters in genshin so just traveler, barabara, amber, aloy, noelle, collei and same for the théâtre. Genshin CAN T be clear with free characters who are simply outdated. Stop coping, the dif is WuWa respect your time compare to genshin. Gacha games are always side games and can t be main games. WuWa assume to be a side game and never force the players to do core or unecessary long quest just to look good for the investissors. the only thing i like about Genshin Impact is their music and graphic colour pallete. Story-wise? slightly better. i think it's due to the cultural references that I enjoy. but other than that? Another thing to add is I saw so many people say you get more relic XP in Genshin. But that isn't true. It just feels that way because they stacked up a backlog of relic XP from grinding for days/weeks with 0 good relics. WuWa you can get 3-4 solid echoes (correct main stat on-set) accidentally just walking around in less than an hour. I can't level my echoes cus I just have too many of them. I have no problems leveling Hoyo artifacts because well... You get one every week/month. It's not because they give more XP, it's because you get less gear. If you start a fresh account, as I have, in Genshin you will feel it and you will go do the artifact XP route for that extra pinch of XP

Tbh Genshin's Dev team just sucks at making the game, there's just a recent bit where some of the DEV team hosted a Dev talk and invited one of my friends, they went in with 13 specific questions that were specifically changes and additions that were involving the game (Note: the devs specifically stated that this was stuff AFTER Chapter 7.) and out of all the players who attended it they all had the same thoughts and concerns (Basically they said all 13 points my friend had written down for this) and out of all them ONLY 2 stuff were confirmed, Reserved Resin and changes to Chronicle wish, No new endgame in the works, absolutely no events turning to end game, no new geo reaction, NOTHING majorly impactful then reserved resin which isn't going to do much... So in conclusion Genshin Devs had no intention to make the game better in these with the excusses they make was one of two things "We don't think its needed in this game" when its stuff that the players WANT added to keep the dang game afloat after all the story is over, and the more BS one "We fear this will raise the stress of our playerbase." there's no excuse they make now that just outright puts a target on their back and a fire up their butt... Tectone if your seeing this message say it aloud for all your chat to see cause I really hope that WuWa comes to console so that it can show Genshin Dev's what they're made of.

DLC under like $8 dollars a pop and you got a stage, new music, and the character. QoL? That depends on the player, Visuals? A big no to that. Character Design, ok, I'll concede? Combat? No, the combat is too different between both to compare. And no contrary to popular belief, WuWa isn't harder than Genshin. Yes hologram bosses are hard, but they are also optional content. When it comes to the actual end game both games resort to HP sponge and time attack mechanics, and both have mid difficulty. It's important to remember that visuals doesn't mean graphics. WuWa has better graphics because it's newer. But Genshin still pulls ahead in visuals(art direction and photography)

Just because something is out of trend, does not mean it's an automatic 'dead game' (as implied by your subjective phrasing from the main comment). Just look at FGO, the game that predates both. It's literally the same as you've described above; just lost a lot of relevancy since Genshin appeared, but the game hasn't died out, yet. Let's speak objectively, then. Characters to collect? That's literally what both games are doing; by their nature as gacha games. The story is meh? This is highly subjective; I can say that Wuthering Waves is bad because of it's lack of in-world depth of it's expansive lore, but same could be applied to Genshin; it peaked at Sumeru and Fontaine, but somehow.. flopped in Natlan (too cheesy of an interaction between the heroes, the absolute disappointing reveal of Capitano's character being isn't ruthless and cold as was expected as 1st of Fatui Harbinger..) not to mention Inazuma, Liyue and Mondstadt as well, they too have issues in the story. You're correlating story progression on how it affect trends, while various variables are at play. Genshin Impact's early boom is caused by COVID when it breaks out, reaping a lot of revenue and relevancy since the start of lockdowns worldwide. If the reverse is applied to WuWa, it would happen exactly like Genshin did, just with differences in philosophies and ideas between the two.
I play Genshin instead of WuWa or HSR or PGR just because Genshin is a fantasy without all that sci-fi and tech stuff that I hate with all my heart. If only we had another game that is like WuWa or HSR or PGR but in fantasy setting with swords, magic and stuff like that, I would've switched to it immediately
As an avid genshin player I agree with these points I played wuwa too but I didn’t find it fun cus I alway had to go to hard pity for my five star and weapon and then I lost the 50/50 each time which caused me to burn out due to exploration to get enough astrite and ultimately cause me to quit. Counter argument for Wuwa weapon banner being better than genshin, in genshin you never need to pull on weapon banner. Wuwa has one good f2p 4 star weapon being variation and everything else is dogshit, genshin has fav, sacrificial, widsith, thrilling tales, etc, many good f2p weapons
The reason people don't pull on the Genshin banner isn't because the 4-star options are really that good, but rather moreso due to the 5-stars costing too much. The difference between a 5-star and a 4-star weapon for both Genshin and WuWa are roughly the same, being about maybe 15-20%... In WuWa, you just tend to go for the 5-star weapons, because they are actually cheap to get (even the Standard 5-star weapons are basically free to you). As an example for Genshin, even after 4 years of adding new weapons, Arlecchino's signature 5-star weapon does 100% damage, and the only 4-star coming even close is a R5 Blackcliff at 81%... And this is definitely not something you get as a F2P due to only being buyable in the shop. The actual closest F2P option is at most maybe Blackcliff R1 with 76% or Prospector's Drill at 74%... And this isn't just the case with Arlecchino. Even just Checking Mualani, her signature weapon is placed at 129.3% and the closest F2P option is the Widsith R1, at 93.2%... That's almost a 40% difference in damage... Genshin has the exact same issue with 4-star weapons, just that it's not worth it to go for 5-star weapons in comparison...

Edit: I completely agree that Wuwa's models are far superior to Genshin's, it's just that a lot of the goats like vicineko aren't doing any Wuwa stuff. Genshin's got some REALLY good stuff purely because it's been out for much longer, so I expect Wuwa R34 to catch up, but for now, it's quite dry.

Like a lot of the changes in wuwa were literally something I sent them as a suggestion months ago and it was absolutely terrifying just how much of it they implemented that I wish I screenshotted my entire suggestion letter just to show how much fixes happened that matched mine. Not saying I'm responsible just moreso saying I felt actually listened to, as I had a literal page of suggestions and majority that I could remember writing down were fixed when I came back to the game.
Heck even the minor annoyance I had of always having to switch to a gunner character because I'm an water/ice main and we dont have one for ice yet was fixed with my ask of a low damage shooting gadget. And the granblue fantasy system of skipping a cutscene still gives a summary was added too which I learned of after granblue fantasy relink and much much more things addressed.
It's particularly why I hope they clean up the last few hitches with the camera/lock on and I forget what else so the game can just receive pure content updates with no more need of prior fixing hence forth(Obviously there'll still be a few bugs at times). I am actually extremely interested in their growth. I'm not even a gacha player I usually just play regular priced games and indies but this gacha game is starting to weasel its way for me.

I think my feelings on the matter are clear.
I don't like either game stories but the "their girl" part made me realise how similar both games are in how bland they make female characters. I wouldn't even know which girl you'r refering to because the entire wuwa female cast are mc's groopies. They might as well be moving collectable figurines, each new female is just one more empty shell added to the collection of the harem. Same for genshin, choose your figurine : the dancing oranged haired one, the dancing white haired one, the brainless one that looks like a fish, the purple one who's personaity changes whenever the devs want, the depressed goat one, the sly fox one who only makes dumb choices in the story, the always smiling one (I'll let you guess that last one considering how many fit the description)

@@bomberist i said specially for the beginning, after the beginning is still very enjoyable, because once you know how the elements interact and you can gear your characters, genshin has like, 88 characters in total, the game is good at keeping itself fresh, and pretty much every unit is viable as long as you know how they interact with elemental reaction, i could hyper invest on my amber (starter unit) and do nukes with her CA and that team is unironically able to clear abyss, its up to the player.
but ofc it can get boring if all you do is play the same 4 characters and spam Q and E, its your fault as a player, the game has dozens of characters to try and most of them are viable on a lot of teams (although obviously not the best choice still able to clear the hardest content)

Also 90% of WuWa content being about how it is better than Genshin doesn’t help making it look any better.

While GI players r still busy fighting themselves and enjoy their journey in Natlan, wuwa ccs acted as if they don't have anymore content so they have to farm some hates to catch some attention, which makes them look cheap imo.

To be 100% honest in "Echoes vs Artifacts" argument. Genshin, as well as HSR have a W, because it lets you use unwanted 0 lvl artifacts to level up the artifact you want. In Wuwa you can only use the exp material for echoes. In addition, genshin lets you dismantle unwanted artifacts into exp materials for artifacts. I love wuwa, but leveling up echoes feels MUCH slower because of that.

I don't play genshin but since it's pretty much the same as hsr, for me getting desired stats in wuwa is faster than hsr. You don't feel the lack of relic exp cause you don't lvl up relics unless they have good sub stats.
Also in wuwa you can use leveled up echos to lvl up other echo, but yeah it would be better if they let you dismantle not leveled up echos to get materials. Or at least keep giving events like the current ones which gives a lot of mats

Gacha Mechanics: Definitely no brainer, WuWa is infinitely superior here. 100% guarenteed weapon banner, purchaseable character dupes (2) in the store, less amount of pulls to hit pity etc..
Parkour and open world traversal: again WuWa wins. Infinite stamina outside of battles, wall running etc...
Open world material grinding: Again WuWa better, in-game materials tracker, materials reset daily.
Combat: subjective I guess, but I most definitely prefer WuWa's combat.
Graphics: 1.3 solidified WuWa as the superior looking game for me. Character models are honestly insane in WuWa.
Music: Only category I give to Genshin, not to say WuWa music is bad but coming from PGR is definitely not as good as it could be.
Story: I'm sorry even with 1.0 in WuWa being atrocius I still enjoyed it a lot more than Genshin due to no paimon and no character standing yapping like crazy, also skip button with story summary in WuWa so it's an easy win for me.
Min max mechanics: I prefer WuWa echo system to artifacts in Genshin, I feel it's easier to get a character up and running in WuWa than it is in Genshin.

If it was like that then, you'd just instantly swap out old characters instantly with new ones, cause they do the same job better, period.
Not like most don't do this already but it would be even more abundantly clear to see, it would reduce the value of characters + it would give even less incentive for new players to ever touch old units/veterans to ever build older units.
This would cause the issue of useless characters that just use up space and it would just look horrid for a new player to see that every character that is at least 2 years old is literally unusable or obsolete.

I pretty much agree on all of his points except artifact-echo systems, they're basically both an rng grind and getting the piece with the right main stat means nothing cause substats matter (in fact they matter even more in wuwa if you look at the distribution of their values). With that being said I honestly think genshin is miles ahead in terms of story, world and ost which is the main and perhaps only reason I continue to play the game.

In wuwa you can have up to 42 CV on one echo from substats only while the main stat is 44 CV; throw there some other useful stats like damage bonuses, atk or er and your main stat ends up less than 50% of an echo value. So what I said is true.
It's the opposite, they matter less in wuwa than genshin since with garbage substats you can compensate with skill, while in genshin if you have garbage artifacts there's nothing you can to except grind again since you won't do damage with garbage substats

I saved up all the free standard banner curency in WuWa and got one of the standard weapons to R5 today. I still havn't exchanged my free 5 star weapon either.
The problem is that Wuwa isnt really doing much better than Genshin and cant keep up in other regards at all. So yeah, only 80 pulls instead of potentially 160 pulls but those 80 pulls are borderline mandatory without permanently feeling like the character is lacking extremely. WuWa you can get 3-4 solid echoes (correct main stat on-set) accidentally just walking around in less than an hour. I can't level my echoes cus I just have too many of them.
I have no problems leveling Hoyo artifacts because well... You get one every week/month. It's not because they give more XP, it's because you get less gear. If you start a fresh account, as I have, in Genshin you will feel it and you will go do the artifact XP route for that extra pinch of XP

Tbh Genshin's Dev team just sucks at making the game, there's just a recent bit where some of the DEV team hosted a Dev talk and invited one of my friends, they went in with 13 specific questions that were specifically changes and additions that were involving the game (Note: the devs specifically stated that this was stuff AFTER Chapter 7.) and out of all the players who attended it they all had the same thoughts and concerns (Basically they said all 13 points my friend had written down for this) and out of all them ONLY 2 stuff were confirmed, Reserved Resin and changes to Chronicle wish, No new endgame in the works, absolutely no events turning to end game, no new geo reaction, NOTHING majorly impactful then reserved resin which isn't going to do much...
So in conclusion Genshin Devs had no intention to make the game better in these with the excusses they make was one of two things "We don't think its needed in this game" when its stuff that the players WANT added to keep the dang game afloat after all the story is over, and the more BS one "We fear this will raise the stress of our playerbase." there's no excuse they make now that just outright puts a target on their back and a fire up their butt...

When it comes to the actual end game both games resort to HP sponge and time attack mechanics, and both have mid difficulty.
It's important to remember that visuals doesn't mean graphics. WuWa has better graphics because it's newer. But Genshin still pulls ahead in visuals(art direction and photography)

Speaking on trends, what is 'trends' by your definition? Just because something is out of trend, does not mean it's an automatic 'dead game' (as implied by your subjective phrasing from the main comment). Just look at FGO, the game that predates both. It's literally the same as you've described above; just lost a lot of relevancy since Genshin appeared, but the game hasn't died out, yet.
Let's speak objectively, then. Characters to collect? That's literally what both games are doing; by their nature as gacha games. The story is meh? This is highly subjective; I can say that Wuthering Waves is bad because of it's lack of in-world depth of it's expansive lore, but same could be applied to Genshin; it peaked at Sumeru and Fontaine, but somehow.. flopped in Natlan (too cheesy of an interaction between the heroes, the absolute disappointing reveal of Capitano's character being isn't ruthless and cold as was expected as 1st of Fatui Harbinger..) not to mention Inazuma, Liyue and Mondstadt as well, they too have issues in the story.
You're correlating story progression on how it affect trends, while various variables are at play. Genshin Impact's early boom is caused by COVID when it breaks out, reaping a lot of revenue and relevancy since the start of lockdowns worldwide. If the reverse is applied to WuWa, it would happen exactly like Genshin did, just with differences in philosophies and ideas between the two.
I play Genshin instead of WuWa or HSR or PGR just because Genshin is a fantasy without all that sci-fi and tech stuff that I hate with all my heart. If only we had another game that is like WuWa or HSR or PGR but in fantasy setting with swords, magic and stuff like that, I would've switched to it immediately
As an avid genshin player I agree with these points I played wuwa too but I didn’t find it fun cus I alway had to go to hard pity for my five star and weapon and then I lost the 50/50 each time which caused me to burn out due to exploration to get enough astrite and ultimately cause me to quit. By no means do I think wuwa is a bad game but personally I prefer genshin
It's sadder when you compare Genshin with a game from the same company HSR. They gave a free limited 5-star when we didn't even ask for it and he's busted if Feixiao didn't exist.

Counter argument for Wuwa weapon banner being better than genshin, in genshin you never need to pull on weapon banner. Wuwa has one good f2p 4 star weapon being variation and everything else is dogshit, genshin has fav, sacrificial, widsith, thrilling tales, etc, many good f2p weapons
The reason people don't pull on the Genshin banner isn't because the 4-star options are really that good, but rather moreso due to the 5-stars costing too much.
The difference between a 5-star and a 4-star weapon for both Genshin and WuWa are roughly the same, being about maybe 15-20%... In WuWa, you just tend to go for the 5-star weapons, because they are actually cheap to get (even the Standard 5-star weapons are basically free to you).
As an example for Genshin, even after 4 years of adding new weapons, Arlecchino's signature 5-star weapon does 100% damage, and the only 4-star coming even close is a R5 Blackcliff at 81%... And this is definitely not something you get as a F2P due to only being buyable in the shop. The actual closest F2P option is at most maybe Blackcliff R1 with 76% or Prospector's Drill at 74%...
And this isn't just the case with Arlecchino. Even just Checking Mualani, her signature weapon is placed at 129.3% and the closest F2P option is the Widsith R1, at 93.2%... That's almost a 40% difference in damage...
Genshin has the exact same issue with 4-star weapons, just that it's not worth it to go for 5-star weapons in comparison...

I agree with u 80-90% in this video. I do find myself spending more money in WuWa these months compared to HSR/ZZZ. As for Genshin, I stopped spending almost 2 years ago.
