It’s time for a pet microchip scanner built in to all smartphone so when Joe public find a stray pet they can scan the pet directly from any smart phone
Hi, You will need to register the microchip in your name then if the dog is lost and the micrcochip is scanned, when the person searches the microchip database it will show you are the registered owner for that dog/chip. We recommend registering the chip with BuddyID Microchip Registration: buddyid.com
It is usually a third party the info goes to. They can not legally give out your information to the founder of your dog so they will contact the owner from the microchip registration site. Your address is safe guarded. They may ask the founder of the dog if it is okay to let the owner know of their phone # to make direct contact. They do not give out information
They do not get your information directly from the scan , nor hand it out. The vet office that the animal has been scanned at contacts the microchip registration site then the site reaches out to the owner
Sheryl at Revival
Hello Edward, I'm sorry to hear about your missing dog. Unfortunately, microchips are not tracking devices. The microchips you place in your pets are for identification purposes only.
It means you have to go online and register the chip # with which the animal was given at the time. Some vet offices do it automatically, others tell you once they are chipped, they give you the number, and say go on this site to register them so it is in the database. It is free to do
