Screw disclosures, can we start totally shaming influencers for having a full on orgasm every time they stick a new product on their face? Or being "scared" to try a trend? You've been doing this for a decade, I'm pretty sure that new pink bush isn't THAT special! Oh my gosh, it's so ridiculous 🤦♀️
Haha it's business people. If you were handed a shit load of money to promote you would do it too. Even a bad review give you publicity and likes! Welcome to life everyone duh! Stop hating and try the shit out for yourself and judge it. Don't rely on these RUclipsr cash money "influencers" buy what you want and you judge it yourself. Application methods etc everyone is individual to what works for them or not. This is petty! This is a competitive world and money is power with good or bad publicity period!
I've been saying this about Mikayla for over a year. As soon as she got "big" she 1,000% completely changed and was all about the money no matter how much she had to lie or deceive her fans.
I saw a vid of her bitching about how hard she worked that day. Something about starting at 9am, a couple of meetings, making a vid and the horrors, her day was over at 5:19pm. She was bitter on how “late” she worked. I saw that and I was like bish, I not done my 12 hour day after working one yesterday and another tomorrow!
She didn’t mind showing off her new convertible she bought. I have no pity for her “long” work day. Personally, I often think I would be sick to death of having to put so much makeup on every day…I wouldn’t last a week.
It always hurts me when these other people try makeup recommended by a shady influencer and they say "What did I do wrong?" It's so disheartening, I want to hug them and say 'no no, you did nothing wrong, it's those nasty influencers hyping up mid makeup for a paycheck '
Right but they see the girl lying above the eyelashes they see the girl lying about her accent, and then they still go and believe her and buy another product. At this point it’s their fault. Zero pity for them.
I always loved Nikki, she seemed fun and genuine. But I have to say, lately it's been really hard to take her seriously. Everything seems so fake and it's hard to tell what she genuinely likes and what she's getting paid to say. I miss the older style fun/creative videos. Not just from Nikki, but from 'beauty gurus' in general.
The "mega makeup influencers," are paid to hock products left and right so much, nearly EVERYTHING they review in a video, is a paid partnership. There a TONS of great reviewers out there, they just don't get the mega million views nor the mega million checks.
Guys, really, the fact that these people don’t care for lying should be the indicator to stop making people famous for having an opinion or reviewing products.
Yup. I don't even follow Mua's or influencers anymore, I just don't care, but I do love these videos because they're entertaining af! I don't get how people can lie and lie and lie and just cruise on by without consequence. Maybe I'm just tired and angry at the state of everything right now, probably am, but as far as I'm concerned capitalists can suck it.
honeslty dont trust transgenders who cant accept theyre trans, thats a huge red flag, both nikkie and Mikaela are trans women who have or had a hard time admitting that, and I see this pattern on people like them, also people who are publicly trans but hate to be called men, for example people like me or William Belli or Jeffree Star, are people who cant care less to be called by our male names or a he or she, we dont care and most importantly we never call ourselves women, I call myself g@y guy, Jeffree calls himself a dude, etc, these type of transgenders are the ones you should trust, I dont know why ya'll cancelled Jeffree, he was doing his job, a good job, anyways Nikita always seemed childish and annoying, dont trust those types of trans "women", theyre fake from the beginning as a red flag, you shouldnt be surprised about being fake for more things, and yes, Mikaela has a voice of a 14 year old boy who started his transition at the minimum point, in this case she will never admit it, how can u trust someone who cant accept himself on the first place? they will obviously be like that about other things too, theyre used to be fake
I believe she has some narcissism in her and she probably doesn’t care if she lies. She doesn’t grasp that all of the people who “looooove” her can go away as quickly as they came and they won’t be back!!!
What Mikayla done was absolutely outrageous. Influencers got cancelled for less... and the fact she didnt even address it just shows its all about the dollar for her and not about her fans... Green snake in the green grass.
Honestly who cares ? The world isn’t about mascara or makeup, there’s more important issues who gives a crap about makeup literally no one. People need to grow up and stop attacking people for literally nothing 😂 it’s her job to do this, and she gets paid hell of a lot. Obviously she is gonna lie I would do the same thing if I was an influencer.
@@indiamack4823 I’ve heard this argument over and over again. The FTC gives a crap, legally, for a reason. It’s not just about mascara it’s about false advertising. Ethics in advertising is a very big deal in the marketing world. That’s why the FTC has such strict guidelines that, according to a few lawyers now, she absolutely did not follow. She’s going to get fined one of these days. “Obviously she’s gonna lie” isn’t the standard we need to hold these rich assh*les to. They have the luxury of picking and choosing which brands to push, being a sellout is only going to end your career faster.
@@indiamack4823 If a mascara is 20 dollars, that could literally be an entire hour of someone's work and income (7.25 is minimum wage.) . While makeup is a luxury, what is not is the freedom to literally lie and mislead consumers for the purposes of making money. Dupont poisoned millions with lead by doing this and this is one of those rare situations where the slippery slope actually exists.
@@InTheNameOfLife1 I get that, but that’s her problem she decided to lie she has to deal with the legal parts on her own. All I’m saying is every single influencer and brand you see lie about everything they sell or promote, we as fans or viewers of these brands and influencers know when they are lying. But we don’t need to throw it down their throats and get mad about it when their are real issues in the world that nobody is talking about enough, such as the earthquakes and the abusive of people in other countries. And the fact young children are getting sold to sex rings. Those are the issues we need to spread awareness about, I completely understand where you are coming from however In my personal opinion there is no need to go on about issues like this, hope you get what I’m trying to say x
1. She complained over when people said being an influencer is easy 2. Mascara scandal 3. Powder Foundation scandal I think it's enough to close her influencer chapter and forget about her, Jeffree and Kanye drama seemed more legitimate than Mikayla's whole career
Made sure I unfollowed her on every platform. This makes me really mad for some reason. Not even the best powder foundation can do that for you. No way.
Don’t forget about that waitress. She apologized and when the girl didn’t react how she wanted, she lit her on fire in a post, and gaslit her. Went back on everything she had previously said. Don’t know why no one is talking about it.
@@lmaonakime8860 you completely just missed the point of the comment. First, Mikayla gets to pick when she works, which the majority of us don’t get that privilege. Next, the FTC cares about false advertising. She didn’t need false lashes to advertise a mascara that was already good to begin with, which is sad.
I had to unfollow Nikkie because she was an unreliable reviewer. I couldn’t tell how good the make-up was because of the filters she uses. She also would talk about how AMAZING products are… but then I look at her descriptions and see she has affiliate links. It’s a bummer, because she is talented and delightful but I can’t trust what she says. 😢
From an outside point of view (never properly watched/liked/disliked Nikki)… I have noticed the reports about her actions have been steadily becoming more negative since the huge blackmail scandal came out. She might be dealing with a lot of pressure from different places and acting weird because of it… True fans might need to hold on a bit longer. People who don’t like her needn’t care 😂
@@Lucina.. nah it’s not recent. I bought a palette years ago because I saw her using it, and it was shitty af. I was just getting into makeup and didn’t know much, so I was pretty salty. from that point on I only watched her for the artistry, never for recommendations. it’s not about her fans or haters, it’s about regular ass consumers being able to trust popular reviewers and not getting duped out of their money.
That one fan/MUA trying out the product and asking “what did I do wrong” is EXACTLY the issue that Raw Beauty Kristi brought up: lying to customers who are just trying to find what works for them is going to make them ask what their issue is when the product doesn’t work as advertised. And 9/10 times they’re doing nothing they shouldn’t, the product just isn’t magic. And yet their fave influencer is making jump cuts and fibbing about a product just to make a couple more coins.
I remember in 2013 when I was 12/13 I’d save up to buy 1 makeup product a year and I remember being so sad when the £15 foundation influencers promised would hide my acne didn’t work. And for a while I was walking around with a green tint to my face bc I was told (again by influencers) if I put a mint green colour corrector all over under foundation would help hide acne 😅 so grateful for time, wisdom and decent influencers like Robert Welsh who taught me honestly what to be doing
@@macieg4052 I love Robert so much!! He’s that perfect combo of truly honest, approachable, and genuinely helpful/informative. Plus he’s the kind of MUA that I actually think I can take recommendations from 😆
@@flightofthexwings the way he’s been calling out this exact thing for years and creators like Mikayla. And he has been warning them too about doing stuff like this and burning your bridges because once that trust is gone and people feel like they can’t believe what you say it’s gone forever. And people will never really take you seriously again. And he has also called out lying about products for the same reason Kristi did! People trust you and look to for real advice. To lie to them and have them waste their money on something you know won’t work the way you say is so wrong. I love Robert so much.
@@macieg4052 Omg me and the "proactiv" brand trying to get rid of my acne. They had SO many celebrities advocating for them. That stuff literally burned my skin but theres me going "maybe I did it wrong? Or maybe thats what its supposed to do? I mean, look at the commercials". 🤦♀️
People are calling out influencers, but honestly the companies should also be held liable for allowing their endorsed promotions to be false. Rules and regulations are wayy to loose for this type of online content.
I use this foundation I use a wet beauty blender and I literally can't feel it and it looks like I'm not wearing anything. I always get compliments and people always ask me where I buy my foundation. When I tell them it's a powder foundation they don't believe it.
I don’t wear makeup that often anymore, but I feel like I never felt my translucent powder on my face. It’s sort of like the nose to me…my brain can ignore it if I don’t think about it. Now if I’m sweating and/or under some direct studio lights yeah I’d feel it more but I do feel it is possible for some to not feel powder. If something feels heavy on my face it’s a cream base.
@@lovelydarkness2010 the heavy cream base maybe cause it's a oil ingredients for foundation and concealer (never try concealer cause it's just a foundation on small tube)
THIS WAS THE PROBLEM. Lots of people after lashgate started with the "what's the problem with her using falsies?" The problem is people believing her, buying the products and expecting the same results. And they'll never get them, and they would start wondering *what did I do wrong* ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, it was an average or good product being portrayed as an excellent and incredible product. You'll never get the same results cause they were enhanced.
The problem is also the fact that so many influencers get called out for faking reviews and nothing seems to happen to them. Loreal loved the response of Lash Gate thanks to it being sold out currently regardless because everyone and their mother was wondering how much it works and added their two cents into the drama
@@mandyg46 It's interesting they loved it because since then I've heard not that much good stuff? Sure, people temporarily bought your product. No ones buying it ever again though and also telling everyone else not to
@@Frankendiaz actually what's funny is the product was pretty great on it's own. The hype isn't even dead yet and I know a lot of people who have tried it because of lashgate but now wear it. It's a great drug store mascara tbh. She didnt need to put falsies on in the first place which is a lot of the reason people are pissed off. She exaggerated the effects for a sponsorship, but she didn't even need to. The results could've spoken for themselves
This was my experience with foundation. I did ALL the things and it still did not look glass smooth in person. I wore it twice, decided I preferred my natural skin vs seeing any texture I have being MAGNIFIED by something that’s supposed to hide it, and stuck to eyeshadow/blush. Seeing influencers now showing off makeup in different lighting is wonderful ♥️. I’m sure it helps this next generation with realistic expectations.
whole time she was called out for doing fake reviews before she was famous, she just NEVER addressed anything she’s done throughout the years so ig it didn’t pick up controversy.
@@vvitch-mist20she used to make videos showing how beauty influencers would lie. one of her videos was on how terrible it is that they will put falsies on in a mascara video. a couple years later she is doing it.
Same thing with her accent like yea she downplayed it bc she thought she had to but now that she got followers and is consodered a major influencer I feel like she ramped up the accent the opposite direction. Like IDGAF that she had an accent but its annoying that she over does it
I wish influencers would just be honest. NO powder looks like this unless it's like Dermablend lmao... myself personally, I'm already picky about my powder foundations because I have drier skin and I know I would hate this. even my favorite powder from One/Size doesn't do what Mikayla and Nikki were raving about (and I PREFER that bc I'm not a full coverage girlie anyway)
As someone with dry skin, powder foundations are usually a HUGE no for me. The fact that people with oily skin are experiencing what I usually experience with this product, just shows how much this product is not worth the money. And the way they are hyping up this product as something miraculous, just reinforces the distrust I have with so many online content creators.
I have it and it’s actually good. Some powder foundations can be used wet. That’s when it will look like a liquid foundation. The problem here is that people trust reviews that are used with heavy filters on because they think the makeup looks flawless. If you can’t see pores it is t flawless. It’s fake.
I love Nikki, it's her job. Don't take their reactions literally. If its a sponsored post, think of it as a commercial you'd see on TV. It's not that deep imo.
unless people actually unsubscribe, unfollow and stop caring about these people they will continue doing what they want. why should they stop if every time they do something like that their views and earnings go skyrocketing?
I have this powder, and it's not terrible but it does NOT give the results that she's claiming. As an ex-makeup artist it really looks like she applied a cream product prior to adding the powder, which is what gave that full coverage effect, in my opinion. Powder foundation is never meant to look the way she made it look lol
Absolutely agreed. If I saw someone looking like that, I would not think they were someone I would trust for makeup advice. Even if that foundation looked like that in reality, it doesn't look GOOD. Yes, full coverage perhaps, but it looks so flat and lifeless and I expect it to crack as soon as she smiles. In person, a truly full coverage powder would be ugly and gross and feel awful on your skin. And I don't want to imagine what would happen as soon as your skin's natural oils get involved 💀
Love how you are exposing these people! Influencers are ruining us and specially the newer generation. They force us to buy their lies. Can you please do this exposing in fashion as well? There are influencers who tries clothing, uses paid partnerships but swears that they have bought all the stuff. Things are getting out of hands in fashion influencing as well!
I usually don’t get triggered by scandals from the beauty community, Mikayla’s flipped a switch in me though. I’m not saying I am demanding an apology, but when she ignored everyone talking about the lashes and shows off that she is going to extravagant hotels and buying fancy stuff using the money that she got because her fans made her popular, it was like she was giving a middle finger to her followers. Left a bad taste in my mouth and I blocked her. Here she is again practically giving us the finger saying she’s going to keep lying.
Honestly the fact her comments are still filled with "I love how she's so unbothered about the mascara. Queen Mikayla!" Sure Hon, keep supporting this tiktoker who could care less about giving you an honest review on a product that is not worth your money
@@ruwubi was wondering about that. Because like if people noticed it from her old videos, her explanation was she was self-conscious about her accent so she hid it and I thought well I guess that makes sense. But if people who actually knew her in real life, are saying this…Hmm. But it just sounds really over the top. Like she sounds like a 50 year old smoker from a movie about Boston lol. I just don’t think there’s any 24 year old that talks like that.
@@potato-whiz she's 24?!?! 😲 I thought she was much older than that DUE to her voice that sounded like someone much, much older. (I had no idea who she was until all this happened and exploded)
Anything maybelline has always broken my face out SO BAD so I knew instantly when seeing the videos on this product I was never going to waste my money on this product. Looks like I was one of the lucky ones to somehow know better. I even once bought a maybelline setting powder thinking it wouldn't be an issue since it was over the makeup and it STILL breaks me out after just one day of wearing it!!
10:29 I feel like this is too many comments to showcase at this point, like we get it girl there were lots of unhappy comments on Mikaylas post but I'm starting to zone out 😭
I miss the time when beauty stuff was tutorials or ideas. Now all they do is sell to us. I don’t trust a thing Mikayla says. I only trust the micro beauty people on tiktok now, and very few of them
if it wasn't because of her controversy i wouldn't know about Mikayla, in the end she is getting attention and becoming more famous for her lies. She knows how to get attention even if is negative.
This is why I only watch Emily Noel, Zebrena, and Jen Phelps for makeup reviews. I can actually trust what they say. It blows my mind how much money some of these people make just for doing reviews. They lie, it's obvious they lie, and they still continue to rake in the money. It's BS
It's a crying shame. I remember the old days of RUclips, people genuinely liking and reviewing products I'd go out and buy them..95% of the time I liked them. Now? Forget it. Very few products I see on RUclips I go out and buy. I'll never buy anything off TikTok, forget it! Nikki along with many other influencers have changed. It's all about the dollar for them now, along with false advertising. Very sad. 😪
Between NikkieTutorials and Mikayla….they’re both very dramatic. Now I know that’s just their personalities and how they are, but there’s no need to overhype and over dramatize a beauty product, plus we can tell when there’s a filter on.
I am almost a 100℅ certain that Mikayla wore the Maybelline SuperStay Liquid Foundation for the before and after. Because there's NO WAAAY powder foundation would look that flawless, even though you apply it with damp sponge.
Yeah.. and if it came down to her getting a fine or a lawsuit for false advertising, she would be like " I didn't lie! I said it was Maybelline superstay foundation!! I just didn't specify powder or liquid" or something. Compulsive liars will make up anything to not get caught it lies.
I look forward to your videos. I thought the same things and there’s little to none influencers I believe in. Thank you for letting us know things that are true and we can actually see online.
Even if she was being honest people will always question how honest she really is. And that’s going to follow her no matter how much of an “unbothered queen” she is.
See, that is the difference. I was ignoring the Maybelline powder foundation when I saw Mikayla and Nikkie Tutorials rave about it, but then Robert Welsh tried it. No unrealistic expectations, he showed it gives a simple light coverage powder that really looks good and natural when that's what you want, and that's what I wanted (I can't use anything full coverage). So I bought it, and I'm very happy with it. If I had wanted what Mikayla showed on her video, I would have felt cheated.
FYI. the MAC powder foundation is really good (I apply it with a brush using circular motions). Yes, it's a bit pricey, but if you use it with a bit of concealer it should last you quite a long time. But keep in mind that powder foundation isn't for everyone!
That's totally foundation. It doesn't take a beauty guru or even a licensed beautician to see that! Putting water on powder foundation makes no sense, it will clump up. This girl lies about everything. Can we all just accept the fact that she's a pathological liar? All the lies will catch up to her. It's not a matter if the lies will come out, it's a matter of when!! It's happening now!!
It doesn't clump up. I use this foundation everyday and I use a damp beauty blender. It makes my skin look flawless it feels light and you can build it so easy. I love this foundation.
I love how she’s still promoting products 😂😂😂😂😂 gurl I want the audacity, she has the confidence of a mid man asking a 10 for her number 😂 these 2 have the same energy
i don't really follow beauty influencers that often but mikayla's foundation video came up on my feed a couple weeks ago and i immediately added the powder to my shopping list. brands like maybelline cost a ridiculous amount of money where i live because of exchange rates so it was something i could barely afford. thankfully something else came up and i decided to not buy it, and now i'm so glad i didn't because that would have cost me a lot. i didn't realise how much these creators could actually influence people until now, this is wild. i thought the whole lashgate thing was a bit too exagerrated but now i'm starting to understand why...
Nikkie and Glamzilla both do this too and it aggravates me. They’re both entertaining but them over exaggerating products makes me distrust them both. And Nikkie also hides behind lighting and filters so the product looks nice but in real life, it looks like shit.
I miss that era when there was just actual makeup tutorials and fun, now there's just "trying this or that product"... I really don't wanna know 50+ products that do the exact same, and even get lied by people who try them out!!! 😭
I feel you. The market is over saturated with products and consumers are more than ever. Alot of people do want to know, a product in one category, seems the same as the rest in that category, so is it Any different (usually because the claims say so) we need real people with texture, real descriptions of product formula, why they like and don't like the product etc. Oh and trust, there's so many people doing tutorials and fun. "Shop my Stash" might be a good place to look for these kinds of videos.
In 2020 (after the 2019 James x Tati x Jeffree x Shane drama) I turned to Nicki as the last unproblematic authentic beauty guru out there. Her positive high energy and now gone honesty were what made me love her. In recent months I've realised what a great actor she is, if you're not very into the beauty community and you saw Nicki's promotional videos for Maybeline, you would most likely belive what she does and sais is the truth. So disappointed!
You should check out Nikkia Joy! She has a very similar energy to Nikki Tutorials but she's actually honest about her opinions and rarely does sponsorships.
@@luckysweety4293 after that I really started to not trust her anymore because she ‘loved’ every product in the video and she was sponsored knowing people hate Shein for being so bad for the environment.
I’ve had this product for weeks and it absolutely does NOT offer this much coverage. If you have super hydrated skin prior to putting it on, I feel like a brush works best…but use sparingly. Do NOT cake it on. It offers medium to light coverage. What I feel like works best is a nice light BB or CC cream first with a damp beauty blender, then use this with a brush but do not cake it on. Idk that’s what works for me. I like it, just not solo with a damp beauty blender.
It’s so sad that her fans are out buying these products and are expecting them to be amazing. And The fact that her fans actually stood up for her when she just carried on like nothing happened is so crazy to me.
@@meme-bu8qu some people need to learn what? It’s like if Hank green was promoting a good physics course, you buy it and it’s garbage. Or if Jazza promoted a really cool art tool and it turned out to be ass because he lied about it. You can’t expect people to buy things they’re interested in which was guaranteed as high quality by important and experienced people that they trust. Wow.
This is why I don’t follow or watch people who use filters when it comes to foundation reviews. I’m not “using filters sets unrealistic beauty standards” I’m just like “dude I want to know how this is going to look on my dry ass skin I don’t have time for this filter bs”
I guess Tati is the only OG influencer I can somewhat trust because she hardly ever takes sponsorships and she has nothing to lose or gain from reviewing makeup/skincare products since she no longer has a makeup brand. From the beginning she’s always been helping us save money and only recommending products she truly loves and chooses from a range of affordable to high end products.
Here's a great idea, stop trusting random rich "influencers" on the Internet. Unless they are showing you start to finish putting a make-up product on, don't trust them. Stop trusting people who don't know or care about you- I'm sorry but the wealthy do not care about others, it's just a dishonest hustle for them.
The only ones I listen to now are raw beauty Kristi and Robert Welsh. That's it. Robert actually didn't mind this powder, but he is super super oily... and he moisturized a ton as well because he knew it was gonna be dry. But yah.. i trust both of them because they turn down so many sponsors and will only work with companies they like and trust, and who will let them be honest. Or they just go out and buy the products themselves.
I'm sorry, but it feels like people forget "buyer beware". If it looks too good, if the person recommending it gushes too much... the product is a lie. I saw that vid (I'm not a subscriber) and what stood out was lack if skin texture (pores) and lack of under eye bags (you know the place where undereye connects to upper cheek) and lack of any shadows. Conclusion: it's aggressive filters and bright studio lights, not the "miracle powder". I barely even saw the partnership text, but it didn't matter, I didn't trust that "review'.
Personally think Nikki would sell her soul if it meant she was getting sponsors and deals. Because it validates her. She’s always over reacted with really mediocre products. I think the beauty space now, the big wigs who get all the views etc, they’re liars. All they care about is views and likes. That’s why I now keep to the small reviews OR the OG’s that have always told it how it is.
It’s hard to review products because our skin all reacts differently to products. So some people with dry skin can only handle certain products so it doesn’t look flakey and dry. More oily skin can handle a dry powder.
So what? She's a maybelline partner , and she's pushing a crap product. It's all the same bag of lies - I will unfollow anyone who is pushing products that are not any good
I'm confused what her being a partner has to do with her lying through her teeth? Unless you mean it's ok because she's a partner? Or that she has to lie because she's a partner?
@@Rainielovealways If you're partnering with a brand -- whether it's a product collab or via incentives -- it's more than understandable to think a reviewer is lying about that particular brand. It's one reason why I always liked Tati because I know she never did affiliate codes (unlike Nikkie) and I don't know of any partnerships she's had. (I could be wrong?) Nikkie was one of the ones pushing Morphe and did affiliate codes with them, and a lot of people lost trust in her. Also there's a difference in "products aren't going to work for everyone" (which is true) vs. a product just being outright bad. Also sponsored posts from SM influencers always make me cringe. Even moreso for beauty or skincare because people legitimately watch for ideas of what to buy.
Listen to this : I ran to the drugstore to buy this product BEFORE lashgate cuz : Mikayla and Niki can't both lie, no? Fortunately I had the chance to test it before purchasing it. It kinda works provided that you have absolutely no skin texture AND you combine it with EXACTLY the right amount of moisturizing. It's a very technical product that requires a lot of skill to apply it correctly. But even then no way in HELL does it offer the amount of coverage that you see in Mikayla's video. I was busy wondering HOW on earth she achieved that effect, when lashgate came in full force. Look in my opinion both products WORK, provided you know how to use them. I don't understand WHY she felt the need to fake it
I worked as a telemarketer, selling spectrum's awful streaming service that i hope shut down, and I've learned that if someone talks like me or my coworker talked when we were trying to make a sale, to not trust their review. I liked mikayla but started getting REALLY sus from her reviews and started avoiding products she reviewed. Edit: If I sold that "free week" of streaming to you, I'm so sorry. Like, genuinely. I ended up quitting because I couldn't stand that I was scamming people.
I hate spectrum but it’s the only internet that is in my budget and services my area. I think one other company services. Not to mention their streaming or tv deals or whatever. Bleh.
I find it hilarious that all of the 'OG' beauty guru's are trying to call others out for false advertising, etc. When the vast majority of them have committed the same acts. At this point, anyone who wants to buy crap from influencers, need to do their own research; instead of running out to buy the product immediately.
@BigBootyTrudie Get ReSeArCh from actual MUA that aren't tRyInG to SeLl you a PrOdUcT. Ask friends, read reviews. There's a myriad of ways to educate yourself, other than just influencers. Also, I never said them lying about mascara, foundation, blush, wasn't irritating... They're literally the used car salesman of TikTok and YT.
Why do we still trust these beauty influencers? For those saying, it doesn’t matter…it does! For those boys/girls that are learning how to do their makeup but end up asking themselves, what did they do wrong and then feeling discouraged because they were lied to matters! When I was first learned how to do my make up… I felt so discouraged because I would watch make up gurus with large pores go from applying make up that somehow made their pores disappear… I wondered what I was doing wrong and it discouraged me to the point where I no longer wanted to do make up… it was only when I got older and tried again that I realized that they were lying about products and they were using beauty filters that would blur their skin… So again, it matters… Because one false review could be enough to discourage someone for a lifetime!
I know a lot a ppl don’t care for Jeffery Star but I think he gives the most honest makeup reviews! Just my opinion from what I’ve seen on his RUclips channel! He did a review on dollar generals makeup brand and he was honestly impressed by how good some of their products actually were but he didn’t try to dis them bc they were dollar general products
I myself use the Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear liquid foundation. For a drugstore foundation, it does have really good coverage and honestly is one of the closest matches I’ve found to my skin tone. I haven’t tried the powder one, but for it to look like a layer of paint on her skin, everyone should’ve been skeptical from the beginning. Maybelline and other drugstore brands do actually have some really good products, so I don’t understand why she feels the need to lie??
What’s crazy to me is that at one point ppl actually held them accountable but now with this whole “fan culture” no one holds them accountable anymore. It really messes up the beauty community because now a bunch of products are being pushed that we really can’t trust will work.
This is why I don’t buy products that influencers use. I will judge my own purchases if I don’t like it, it is given away. I don’t listen to any influencers because you get into mind set of wasting too much money because they hyped it up even when you don’t need the product. I’m just going to say this buy products that Interest you to use and look at the ingredients and what skin type it’s good for.
I never followed mikalya she always seemed manufactured to me. All this doesn’t surprise me. It’s even worse cause I saw the mascara review the night she posted it on YT Shorts and without my glasses on I saw it and made a mental note to look into it cause it looked amazing. Then the next morning I awoke to see the backlash. proved my instincts right, that’s real real sad
Omg! Thank you Tea Spill 🍵❤ That’s why I only check Robert Welsh videos for make up, he is honest and gives every product a second chance if needed. He tells you if it works better with brush, beauty blender, etc.
I KNEW this was gonna be the next video of hers to be picked apart! Yes! Before the whole mascara thing, I was watching that Maybeline powder foundation video and got so mad.. I bought it (before I saw her using it, thank god!) cuz I’ve heard that it was the best one out there. Good price, covering redness and also good for different skin types, oily skin, dry like mine and even combined. And when I tried it one... it looked like my skin was extremely flaky and like it was gonna fall off my face! Every little line, pore, imperfection I have was 100 times worse looking after.. I was sad, mad and disappointed af. And then I saw this b doing that video.. The ONLY way she could’ve looked like she did by using the powder is cuz she used a foundation for a base and the powder over. I tried it and it looked similar to hers but only from afar.. On a closer look, I looked so so baaad. So dry, cakey and flakey at the same time. I washed it off and threw it in the bin. Sad they are lying like this and people are spending their hard earned money on products that they think are gonna be amazing but actually are really bad.. Shame on all of them! Disgusting behavior!
This is why I trust sophdoeslife, she also did a spon for this product but she was very open with the fact she prefers powder foundation for spot concealing (which she has stood by for years) and this product is good for that! It's so easy to do sponcon without selling out
I love Soph. She loves the Superstay liquid foundation in the bottle. And I got it due to her recommendation and I agree it's so good. The powder however no go.
My girl saw that video of the foundation with Mikayla and instantly went to go try it out...she thought she was just doing something wrong. Just showed her this and she feels happy to know it wasn't her fault but disappointed because she fell for the false advertisement. Edit: she's not even a Mikayla fan, she uses Maybelline as her back up cheaper make up and hadn't given that a try. Seeing that pushed her to go ahead and try it and was highly disappointed.
The fact that Nikkie is already so rich and continues to lie to her followers like this is so disgusting... The level of greed is just way to high. Didn't learn anything from her past
Whenever an influencer overreacts in their product review, I automatically distrust their genuineness.
Nikki REALLY overdid it.
Right? Like she snorted that stuff......
she has HUGE contract with the brang, it was same with her allegedly makeup for wedding.
For reals...She always does omg...🙄
Whenever they break out the "Disney Channel" overacting, I immediately distrust everything they say. It's not even worth finishing the video.
I really like Nikki but I don't believe anything she says.
Yeees, I understand being afraid to look like a clown but it isn't live, you can not post it lmao
The repetitive *gasp* they make when they put the product on and the “OMG you guys......”
This is a competitive world and money is power with good or bad publicity period!
at this point i’m just gonna assume she lies about everything

It's already the way she says it: "TRUST! *splutter*"... fake af.
Litterally
Yeah, this is bs
I've been saying this about Mikayla for over a year. As soon as she got "big" she 1,000% completely changed and was all about the money no matter how much she had to lie or deceive her fans.
Period! She did change lol
I saw that one too. She should see what real work actually is
She didn’t mind showing off her new convertible she bought.
@@HEKATESDAUGHTERyeah, there’s a point where I loose pity for them. Why believe and trust someone who’s been known to lie about basically everything?
I always loved Nikki, she seemed fun and genuine. But I have to say, lately it's been really hard to take her seriously. Everything seems so fake and it's hard to tell what she genuinely likes and what she's getting paid to say. I miss the older style fun/creative videos. Not just from Nikki, but from 'beauty gurus' in general.
Same, I’ve watched Nikki from near the beginning and it was a lot of morphe then it got better but now it’s hard to take her seriously.
The "mega makeup influencers," are paid to hock products left and right so much, nearly EVERYTHING they review in a video, is a paid partnership. There a TONS of great reviewers out there, they just don't get the mega million views nor the mega million checks.
No one remembers the time she was "kidnapped" by this brand? (A lot of fake sponsorships)
This is why, dislike him or not, Jeffree Star is good to go to for reviews.
Yeah I love Nikki but I can't take her videos seriously anymore. I don't like shortform content reviews anyway but like... idk.
Ding ding ding!!! This!!!
I feel like she did this because of the reputation of her lying and she knew that this would go viral.
honeslty dont trust transgenders who cant accept theyre trans, thats a huge red flag, both nikkie and Mikaela are trans women who have or had a hard time admitting that, and I see this pattern on people like them, also people who are publicly trans but hate to be called men, for example people like me or William Belli or Jeffree Star, are people who cant care less to be called by our male names or a he or she, we dont care and most importantly we never call ourselves women, I call myself g@y guy, Jeffree calls himself a dude, etc, these type of transgenders are the ones you should trust, I dont know why ya'll cancelled Jeffree, he was doing his job, a good job, anyways Nikita always seemed childish and annoying, dont trust those types of trans "women", theyre fake from the beginning as a red flag, you shouldnt be surprised about being fake for more things, and yes, Mikaela has a voice of a 14 year old boy who started his transition at the minimum point, in this case she will never admit it, how can u trust someone who cant accept himself on the first place? they will obviously be like that about other things too, theyre used to be fake
@@indiamack4823 you are so typical -you liked to be lied too
The fact that Mkayla hasnt even addressed or apologized about her lying about mascara shows she has NO integrity
The question is, why people still believe in a known liar 🤥???
1. She complained over when people said being an influencer is easy
2. Mascara scandal
3. Powder Foundation scandal
I think it's enough to close her influencer chapter and forget about her, Jeffree and Kanye drama seemed more legitimate than Mikayla's whole career
Made sure I unfollowed her on every platform. This makes me really mad for some reason. Not even the best powder foundation can do that for you. No way.
Don’t forget about the fake accent 😂
Don’t forget about that waitress. She apologized and when the girl didn’t react how she wanted, she lit her on fire in a post, and gaslit her. Went back on everything she had previously said. Don’t know why no one is talking about it.
That’s not even bad💀 people jus overreacting
I think she over reacts when she’s talking, I find that super annoying…
@@emege93 yep! She's always been like that. I never followed her because of that.
I’ve never taken advice from her. Her reactions are not authentic
As soon as I saw that click I thought of Kristi! She’s so right and it’s sad to see it play out
I remember in 2013 when I was 12/13 I’d save up to buy 1 makeup product a year and I remember being so sad when the £15 foundation influencers promised would hide my acne didn’t work. And for a while I was walking around with a green tint to my face bc I was told (again by influencers) if I put a mint green colour corrector all over under foundation would help hide acne 😅 so grateful for time, wisdom and decent influencers like Robert Welsh who taught me honestly what to be doing

And they'll never get them, and they would start wondering *what did I do wrong*
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, it was an average or good product being portrayed as an excellent and incredible product.
The problem is…. Having to explain the problem when it’s blatantly obvious.
The whole reason she got famous was because she was honest and was giving legit reviews. Fame changed her for the worse

Whoever trusts and follows Mikayla, 😂😂😂 I don't know why and who to blame if you are disappointed. Look at her!!!
It’s fake.
I got the L’Oréal foundation powder to set my face and is actually good. Wouldn’t recommend to use it as an actual foundation tho

I love Nikki, it's her job. Don't take their reactions literally. If its a sponsored post, think of it as a commercial you'd see on TV. It's not that deep imo.
It's worth the sticky fingers discount tho 😏
unless people actually unsubscribe, unfollow and stop caring about these people they will continue doing what they want. why should they stop if every time they do something like that their views and earnings go skyrocketing?
I have this powder, and it's not terrible but it does NOT give the results that she's claiming. As an ex-makeup artist it really looks like she applied a cream product prior to adding the powder, which is what gave that full coverage effect, in my opinion. Powder foundation is never meant to look the way she made it look lol
i don't wear makeup and even i can tell that's just a cream lol
Plus, if it was JUST powder, where'd the foundation on her nose-ring come from? Last time I checked, powder doesn't stick to steel. lol.

I work at Walgreens, this product has been returned SO MUCH during the past few weeks. 😅
You can return open makeup at Walgreens?
i don't really follow beauty influencers that often but mikayla's foundation video came up on my feed a couple weeks ago and i immediately added the powder to my shopping list. brands like maybelline cost a ridiculous amount of money where i live because of exchange rates so it was something i could barely afford. thankfully something else came up and i decided to not buy it, and now i'm so glad i didn't because that would have cost me a lot. i didn't realise how much these creators could actually influence people until now, this is wild. i thought the whole lashgate thing was a bit too exagerrated but now i'm starting to understand why...
Nikki is as bad as Mikayla, people don’t throw nearly as much hate at Nikki because they are afraid of being called transphobic.
Mikayla is a master at making bad products look good on camera (only) to sell it to you
hard same with Nikki
She uses other better products and pretends it’s the one she’s selling, using cuts and camera angles, etc.
Nikkie and Glamzilla both do this too and it aggravates me. They’re both entertaining but them over exaggerating products makes me distrust them both. And Nikkie also hides behind lighting and filters so the product looks nice but in real life, it looks like shit.
Do ppl actually buy the products?! That's so dumb
Some of these like the mascara are actually good but the powder is not for everyone I guess, still great tho without considering Mikaylas fake review
Still don’t understand how anyone could be a “fan” of this disgusting creature to begin with
I feel the same way 🤨😐🥴
In 2020 (after the 2019 James x Tati x Jeffree x Shane drama) I turned to Nicki as the last unproblematic authentic beauty guru out there.
Don't forget her sheglam fake review video
@@luckysweety4293 after that I really started to not trust her anymore because she ‘loved’ every product in the video and she was sponsored knowing people hate Shein for being so bad for the environment.
Ever since she joined tic-tack.. she went downhill.
U should check out jen phelps and makemeupmissa. Love them.
Morphe brushes are awful, shedded terrible. That’s the only thing of there’s I’ve tried but never again 1:25
It’s so sad that her fans are out buying these products and are expecting them to be amazing. And The fact that her fans actually stood up for her when she just carried on like nothing happened is so crazy to me.
People saying “it’s mascara it’s not that deep” but the thing is she lied to her fans , was called out on it, and didn’t even address it 🫠
@@Lomasalmonerna yep exactly!! I basically got harassed by her fans on tiktok because I commented something similar to that.
I would feel bad for the fans, but some people need to learn the hard way.
On April fools day, all tea channels should coordinate to spill the tea on each other in a new upload at the same time 😂
These creators being shady… don’t they understand that’s literally ruining the entire thing that BUILT their platform?? Support and trust? Yikes.
This is why I love Robert Welsh!
What?? she was at the heart of the Original RUclips DRAMA 😂
girlll😭 tati might be worse than mikayla atp
@@bettawitch4606 but I’m talking about her makeup reviews, plus she’s stayed drama free since her return back to RUclips
She looked like the Phantom of The Opera at 0:13
*In Bob The Drag Queen's voice* "Drag her... Destroy her... End her career..."
I just don’t trust her anymore, she lied to all of us she’s just after the money smh 🤦♀️ 😢
Not me actually considering buying that powder 🤦🏼♀️ thanks for saving me £12 lol!
I still remember sponsored youtubers prior to 2015 getting absolutely destroyed by their viewers over it. People were very intolerant and very cruel.
It’s hard to review products because our skin all reacts differently to products. So some people with dry skin can only handle certain products so it doesn’t look flakey and dry. More oily skin can handle a dry powder.
Influencer = snake oil salespeople.
In Nikki's defense, ONLY IN REGARDS TO MAYBELLINE, she's been a Maybelline partner for years and has done a ton of videos specifically for them
@@justhereforthedrama you're right, I thought of that a few minutes after I commented.
I'm not defending her lying. I'm only commenting on her disclosures.
Bleh.
Honestly at this point the people who still buy stuff off of her recommandations are just laughably gullible lmao. Fool me once, fool me twice…
Who wants to be lied to? All Mikayla does now is talk about her new invitations and her stuff!!!
It’s so sad some people are thinking they are doing something wrong or their skin is the problem 😢
This is why I watch RUclips more for reviews. I love a 10+ honest review where we see what it looks like from start to finish and the wear test x
Yes me too!
I really love your videos
They are simple and straight to the point !!
I have to agree with you. Other ones don’t capture my attention much, but I can sit and watch this one with no problem
What’s crazy to me is that at one point ppl actually held them accountable but now with this whole “fan culture” no one holds them accountable anymore. It really messes up the beauty community because now a bunch of products are being pushed that we really can’t trust will work.
As problematic as he may be the *ONLY* “influencer” I trust when it comes to reviews is Miss Jeffree Lynn Star.
Omg! Thank you Tea Spill 🍵❤
That’s why I only check Robert Welsh videos for make up, he is honest and gives every product a second chance if needed.
She keeps on GiVING!!! 😭☠☠☠☠☠☠
I just can’t handle her voice
This is why I trust sophdoeslife, she also did a spon for this product but she was very open with the fact she prefers powder foundation for spot concealing (which she has stood by for years) and this product is good for that! It's so easy to do sponcon without selling out
I love Soph. She loves the Superstay liquid foundation in the bottle. And I got it due to her recommendation and I agree it's so good. The powder however no go.
I like her as well. Her, Robert welsh, and raw beauty kristi are the three I trust.
It looks like she used a liquid foundation then used the powder on top to make it look like it’s “full coverage” or something
that is ABSOLUTELY what she did
Yessss
I have the powder. It was pretty good.
I LOVE Nikki but she’s ALWAYS been hiding affiliate links and disclosures
The fact that Nikkie is already so rich and continues to lie to her followers like this is so disgusting... The level of greed is just way to high. Didn't learn anything from her past
