Mitchell Ryan as Burke has been really good these last few episodes & it's good to see Vicki taking charge recently rather than playing the helpless victim all the time.
the PHOENIX story is wrapping it up soon. ..... really liked it this time around. Very good acting by Diana Millay. She had a great command of her tone of voice.
How could Roger be so dense as to believe Laura's ruse of agreeing to leave without David when she has been a broken record up to this point about needing David and refusing to leave without him. Even threatening Roger, to testify against him, and send him to prison for manslaughter. Shows how cunning Laura can be, changing tactics to throw them off guard.
Burke still hasn't forgotten why he's in Collinsport, though. He's been quietly buying demand bonds and shares of Collins Cannery to put a financial wammy on the family.
WTF? It's never a good day at the manor when Vicky is the voice of reason in the house. Is there a stand selling dosed brandy on the way from the manor to the cottage? Both Roger & Burke tramped down to Laura's cottage full of pee & vinegar, yet somehow she bats a few eyelashes, sheds a few crocodile tears & they come back to the house like pacified pussycats. One minute it was "Laura will never give up without a fight". The next it was " Oh I believe everything she says". What about the Doc, Mrs. Stoddard...etc? How conveniently that is all forgotten in the moment. Men! Don't they know crying is one of the oldest tricks in the book? That comes in the teen manual for suckering a man for goodness sake! LOL.
I was Born June 14, 1967...just think I was in my mom's belly, when this Episode was made. I Love this Show...49 years ago.

Totally agree. I wish the show could have stayed in this tone instead of going "operatic"
These men on here aren't the brightest bulbs in the box.
Laura can tell Roger anything!

Laura gives me the creeps - the way she materializes out of the shadows.
She's much creepier than any other future character on this show.

Building to the climax!
The actress who plays Laura looks pregnant in that long black dress
She was, she had a son on June 7, 1967
She is pregnant. That's why she's leaving the show.
