Many round knives being made today are not ground correctly. I noticed your's had a continuous bevel, which is great. The knives coming out today are a wedge, which will never cut well.

Unbranded on aliexpress. You might be able to find it, but I haven't seen it there for a while.
Thank you. I would imaging these knives are the biggest cause of cut hands and fingers. I have one, but am reluctant to use it.
It depends on your attention to safety. It's a push cut blade, so your hands should always be behind or at the very least to the side of the direction of cut. Break those rules and you'll pay. Otherwise, it's a very safe and highly effective tool.
Please do a video on choosing a new round knife. There's a few makers and brands making them at a variety of prices, but no info on them anywhere. Everyone talks about old makers no longer in business but noone talks about current ones. Like most things, the modern makers aren't at the same level as the classics but we can't just buy a classic. We are stuck with the new ones. I don't want to waste valuable money on trying every brand.
Maybe the new ones need new edges? Maybe somone makes one far superior to the competition? What do we need to look for? Are the variety of sizes specific to certain uses? I've got so many questions but I can't find answers anywhere on RUclips or in internet searches. Occasionally I find old forums talking about them but they are at least 10 year old threads on dead forums. PLEASE HELP!!
Yeah, I think it's one of those tools which is both iconic, and unpopular. So not many makers are producing them now. At the same rate, not many makers know how to produce a good one.
I have a Barnsley knife that is crap, a small Chinese made knife that's wonderful but no longer produced, and one German made 'Don Carlos' round knife that has excellent steel, but needed it's edge reprofiled out the box (not a small job).
I would be interested to check out the (new?) round knife produced by Wuta Leather. If I needed a replacement, I'd probably get that.
@Leathercraft Masterclass- Online Video Courses I bought an "Al stohlman brand" knife and put it to the stones and its really good on 3-4mm and I'm addicted to the style of knife now. I just don't feel keen on another multiple hour session grinding another down further. I found somone selling a NZ makers old stock (im in Aus) for a couple of hundred $ I might try? I come across some very well used classic old brittish made knives in poor condition going for the $200 mark but not sure they're worth saving in thier current condition. Nice for an historical collection though. Might have to bite the bullet and find somone to make me a custom job?
