Running Twister OS on your Raspberry Pi? How about creating a similar experience for your desktop PC or laptop. Twister UI will do just that, and in this video we look at installing it on top of Manjaro which, being a rolling release, means you'll always have the latest and greatest available software.
As well as changing the appearance to resemble that of Windows 11 using ThemeTwister, we'll look at accessing a network share on your local server or NAS (Network Attached Storage). We'll also see how to set up your (wireless) printer, and take a tour of the AUR (Arch User Repository). Then, to finish, we'll quickly consider the key features of each version of the Twister Operating System.

Excellent video for someone coming from Pi Os or Ubuntu... Like all your other videos all command well displayed on screen and easy to jot down notes.. Whats even better they seem to always work.. Thank you for your effort....

You're welcome :)
Great video on Twister UI!, Thank you for making content about linux. Please keep making them :)
You're welcome. Thanks for your support :)
Very good video just installed it on a sony vaio (old vgn) this may help anyone who finds the touchpad works but not the mouse CLICK,just open mouse and touchpad click AlpsPS/2 Alps GlidePoint then Touchpad and tick the box Touchpad to click. Now the click will work why was it not clicked by default?? Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks for sharing the mouse click fix you discovered on your laptop :)
You could also drag the file directly into the terminal and it will execute automatically.
Nice tip :)
Today passes Gnome Boxes virtualization on RUclips.
My plan is to install Manjaro and the Twister UI over it.
With that I want now also use Gnome Boxes in where I install Windows 11.
One of the advantages is that you cab use the Linux folders easaly in Windows.
Ik look an ideal situation for Working with 2 operating systems on one computer and switch quickly between them.
My main question is now: "Will work Gnome Boxes still work after I installed Twister OS ??"
If you had Gnome Boxes already working on Manjaro then installing Twister UI shouldn't prevent it from running. Hope that answers your query.
Good to know twister ui works on manjaro, but i use mostly i3 anyway... Man you put too much effort in your videos! If you want the channel to grow, set your focus more on the marketing side of things ...periodic content, hot topics, patreon, in video adds etc.
A tiling windows manager - you must be a real Linux enthusiast :)
@@bytemypi2918 not actually! I3 is a hell to configure, and the first half hour is learning the keybindings. After that is a breeze. There is a nice tutorial of i3 install in raspberry pi os from novaspirit youtuber and from an afro youtuber of i3 in xfce.
Manjaro sway for the pi is great out of the box even from the imager
@@RafaCoringaProducoes I'm not overly familiar with i3, but I'd heard it uses a lot of keyboard shortcuts.
@@bytemypi2918 not many: alt + enter terminal / alt + shift + q close / alt + number change workspace / alt + shift + number send to workspace / alt + arrow change program in focus / alt + arrow + shift change program position / alt + d open Dmenu or rofi / alt + shift? + R rezise program in focus
Ive heard twisterOS isnt open source anymore... Im curioud trying twisterUI soon cause xfce+vala global menu is a hell to setup alone lol
How do you open multiple instance of a program in LXDE? I would like to open the program obs with multiple instance.
Is there a reason you're using the LXDE desktop instead of XFCE?
@@bytemypi2918 I am still learning linux. I watch your video on installing Ubuntu. In the video you suggested to use the light weight desktop lxde. I have setup xcp-ng and create a Ubuntu server 20.4 to stream obs-studio to RUclips. I am waiting to stream 2 live RUclips at the same time but it requires two instances of obs-studio
@@bytemypi2918 how to uninstall LXDE?
@@sidneyking11 Ah that makes more sense. I assumed you'd be using the XFCE desktop since you posted your comment on the Twister UI Manjaro video.
To run two instances of OBS studio simultaneously I'd suggest giving the Cinnamon desktop a try. You can install this with the following command:
sudo apt install cinnamon
Once its finished installing, restart the computer and choose the Cinnamon desktop from the login screen. Note Cinnamon will use a lot more system resources than LXDE.
Hope that helps :)
@@sidneyking11 To uninstall LXDE, type in the following:
sudo apt remove lxde-core lxappearance
Hope all goes well :)
i must "pop in my password"
Works for me :)
