@@Ghost_0716 Installation of bazzite was extremely simple, But I have to warn you Immutable can be a royal pain in arse if you know anything about customising or want to do anything on linux outside of what was bazzite made for. will be most likely problematic or almost impossible. To the install: They don't even have a liveboot environment for testing it, in the installation iso. It was an Gui Installer Similar to Callamares or could be callamares itself, doesn't matter it`s an GUI wrapped/auto-installer with almost no choice at all. Common practises used to install linux: Try disabling safeboot, if possible keep UEFI boot on before trying to install it, to avoid the need for later manual modification of grub or systemd boot. Otherwise Nothing special had to be done. I can't recall doing anything else than choosing to auto-partition nvme into ext4. At first I did try also btrfs but that seemed to be extremely slow, and unnecessary so I Reformatted it. I'd recommend this auto approach since bazzite does have read-only partitions and folders all over the place, this fact about the architecture did grow flustratting quickly on me. This is because of architecture and philosophies behind bazzite. I`d basically describe it as an equivalent of wsl2 on windows, You basically Can't extend its capabilities beyond things people have already implemented into flatpack or rpm-ostree. unless you rebundle, recompile & upload new repository, register it as a new bundle in rpm-ostree or worse commit to patriciate into bazzites own package management wrapper named ujust and commit to maintaining it ideally forever on. The main reason for it is The ISO you get at bazzites web is a state-locked clone/timestamp of maintainers linuxbuild {in principe locked core-OS},.CoreOS does rely RPM-OSTREE it basically does wrap every package Into it's own container then patches it, on top of their existing OSTREE for every single package as a separate. therefore once you make make basic configuration get yourself the most you`d like on a casual workhorse you`ll have a ton of podman/[Docker] containers running all the time and you just made non standard untested modifications, likely problematic at ujust upgrades. Not to forget distroboxes, Since Bazzite is Simply Architecturally just a distrobox container you can run as many kernels as you like, while theoretically can distrobox allow to escape the boundaries bazzite team set for us , Launching multiple kernels is basically running multiple linuxex at the same time side by side, as you can imagine this comes at heavy performance drawbacks even more that flatpak and RPM-Ostree. all that is the price you pay for the agnostic approach and Muted nature. I did mess around it for countless hours trying to not being mad and rather learn more about it instead. But in the end I did always hit the next wall, either by having to unlock /usr with ostree, which is easy enough, but any changes you make to it are temporary and will vanish once bazzite does release any minor update. As you propably did guess by now, The update happened around a week later and my Bazzite had a lot changes done to it and yes all of this 40h work I did was gone in seconds, Even worse I had no Idea about it so no dirty backup was done. So if you like bazzite go for it only if you really are creating a dedicaded gaming/home theater pc, it can also do docker well. Otherwise don't expect hosting anything. Basically I would never install bazzite to my main computer The usecases for lib OSTREE are clear. 1] Ideally a school classroom or any small business where multiple machines do the same work over and over. 2.1] Anything where you want a server build with full control 2.2] Multiple clients that are locked down in timestamp. these machines would behave as slaves. Everything is ruled by Server and there is no escape whatsoever. Slaves do upgrade themselves always once new timestamp has been uploaded to our own communal source Repository. and RPM-OSTREE update has been issued.
Bazzite should drop the Fedora installer and go with something as idiot proof as possible for non Linux initiated folks. That would go a very long way to more adoption imo.

I'm literally 5 minutes done installing it on the laptop I'm typing this on... Just need to install QEMU/virt-manager to get it back to being my "third line backup to connect to work" (Windows required for work telephony desktop app)
Only problem I'm seeing is it moans at boot about a TPM error and I need to "Press any key to continue". TPM is enabled in the BIOS, it's not a huge issue to me. If it gets fixed, yay. If not, no great loss...
I'm wondering... what's so bad about Razer? I'm asking as I am currently using both Razer Mouse and Keyboard. And I don't have any issues with them, other than having no software. So... is it the missing software that makes Razer extremely generic and therefore bad or is there another reason?
You want a challenge? Get yourself a Pentium M laptop, install 32 bit Linux and some GOG games like Fallout New Vegas! And you want some issues, try installing PopOS on a Dell Precision M6600 with a FirePro M6100 without it bricking the motherboard. I thought I goofed up with the first one but saw on the second one PopOS writes a firmware to the M6600 and the laptop has a hardware issue that does not allow the Dell Bios to complete. That means no bios access and no hardware diagnostics. Helldivers 2 reminds me ofStarship Troopers
In the near future I want to try this on a old Lenovo laptop that has Win 8.1 on it. I can't afford a new laptop and gives me a chance to play with Linux.
I disliked Linux till i tried Bazzite ob my ally. I use it as my desktop pc and i dock it more often than my macbook now. Speedy and good looking yet stable.
I bought Razer Hammerheads (wired) in like... when they first came out. Superb build quality and sounds good too! I've had the Razer Orochi v1 and Viper ultimate. Great mice. "Don't buy Razer" is a bad advice. You could just as easily say don't buy microsoft/logitech. All manufacturers have good and bad products. But yes, I totally agree, do not buy Razer keyboards.
Had the OG Razer Blackwidow since launch 2010, and it still works perfectly. In fact, you couldn't even tell any wear on the damn thing! I game a lot, raiding in Warcraft several days a week as well. All the other games I have played on this keyboard, as well as general computing it must easily have 20k hours on it or more.

What is the issue with Nvidia cards? Is just your inate ability to break things? Admittedly, I haven't tried Nvidia plus AMD GPU but Nvidia plus Intel Discreet GPU works just fine on most Linux systems these days. I've had zero issues with Nvidia and Linux for years now, maybe even a decade or so. Even Debian realized their founding principles allowed/encourage providing propriety drivers. Only the FSF and it's zealots have such issues with "proprietary" drivers and blobs. Which makes no sense as we have always relief on proprietary closed source components since the dawn of computing.
Maybe you should actually USE the os for a while before telling everyone how they need to switch lol. It doesnt work with nvcc which makes running ALVR (to use a quest headset with steamvr) completely impossible. And the way they set everything up nothing works thanks to all the flatpaks etc. Bunch of bullshit.
Something has to be wrong with this deployment thing, or bazzite servers its getting data from might be dying or something because i literally installed 4 windows 11 from power up to desktop in the time this took. Thats almost 8 times the data. U can use slots while covered by gpus by the power of low profile PCIE extension cable thing. Also what the hell are you talking about, wayland is the biggest linux failure in years. Imagine if Apple or Microsoft released a patch to their os that for OVER A MTHF YEAR made literally half of games unstable stutter feast, made it impossible to have administrator rights in your file browser and broke keyboard and mouse shortcuts to all hell so even the basic functionality like push to talk inst working, and crashing even build in desktop apps that are supposed to be build for it. Even to this day, even in Plasma 6, which is build for wayland, all you have to do is play a bit with positioning of panels, try to customise some stuff and voila, u have artifacts or the desktops just dies. Its literally beta software that shouldnt have been released to public at all. Its not helping linux adoption.
> wayland is the biggest Linux failure in years Yeah. Is still far of reaching the same level of functionality than X11, but almost nobody maintains X11. > Its literally beta software that shouldn't have been released to public at all. Its not helping Linux adoption. A lot of distros aimed to starters have enabled X11 by default, a good example is Mint. And yes wayland is still far from being feature-complete, but how else you speed up the development without releasing it to the masses to pinpoint possible issues?
bazzite is bugged ....its desktop graphics flickers while watching videos on a browser... stick with ubuntu or fedora that are a little bit more polished
"We all bought Razer products" ... I never did. I never was a fan of the over-the-top designs of their products including pointless features like RGB lighting for a ridiculously high price. I guess that at least partially explains why I don't have a PS5 as well... although in that case I have a longstanding grudge against Sony since the mid 90s. This RGB crap seems to be getting more mainstream and cheaper as a result, but I still don't like Razer's sharp overall design aesthetic (and still high prices for the mediocrity you get).

When trying to install Bazzite on my mini PC i kept getting a "device active" error message and now I can't boot into Windows anymore. Any advice?
turn off windows fast boot
I hate updating my OS any more often than twice a year. Sometimes I'll even go LTS only.
So this won't work for nvidia gpu
Nvidia is not open sourcing their drivers.
Loading, loading, loading ...
Keep those doggies loading ...
In the near future I want to try this on a old Lenovo laptop that has Win 8.1 on it. I can't afford a new laptop and gives me a chance to play with Linux.
Bazzite link not working..not even the github link work....
Is there a playlist anywhere of your background music? Absolutely loving the first song.
It updates on every reboot.. it pulls a fresh image from git...
anecdotally, I've been playing HD2 on Garuda on X11 just fine
I disliked Linux till i tried Bazzite ob my ally. I use it as my desktop pc and i dock it more often than my macbook now. Speedy and good looking yet stable.
Great and informative video! Have you considered joining the Bazzite Team?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Yay.
hikariknight was the one that bombed you off the cliff lol
what the... it' my 3rd time breaking bazzite without intention to do so 😅
how does this compare to nobara ?
I think Nobara is better
@@beatsdtx06 thank you for taking the time to answer i been thinking about dumping windows and trying linux out and was considering nobara or bazzite
Idk why the FPS drops to 20 in game mode LMAO
Allways remeber - GTX 1660 have a USB-C port, which brakes 50% of Linux Installations
huh...I just installed Bazzite 1 hour age.
Do you have dual monitor is every thing working fine?
1:05:48
nothing really seems that odd about your system.. other than maybe 1 nvidia 1 amd gpu but n ever had issues with that either
I dont like the distro I prefer pop os but I have to admit bazzite works almost flawlessly with my games without tweaking them
HELP ME PLEASE GUYS 😭
Can someone help me ?

Thorium Appimage is probably the easiest way to go
yep it's good stuff
Install takes forever because it's so big.
RTX 40 series runs better on Linux today then any AMD card, just take the propriotary driver.
Its not helping linux adoption.
> wayland is the biggest Linux failure in years
Yeah.
Really did you try other browsers ?
I'm willing to bet that is an NVIDIA issue.
@@XeZrunnerour some Wayland bs👀
100% nvidia issue and would affect any distro where you use nvidia and wayland until the next nvidia driver release and xwayland update
And yet, here I am, watching this very video in Thorium, running on Bazzite, on a Razer Blade Stealth with nVidia graphics, with no flickering.
I guess you live under a rock
Meanwhile in the real world I just use my Mac and get on with work. You on the other hand just screw around.
Why is he in DOS?
