- Here I'm comparing the HyperX Procast and the HyperX Quadcast S.
The HyperX ProCast is a broadcast quality condenser microphone with highlights that include a pop filter, shock mount and great style. It looks a lot like the original Quadcast and that's no bad thing as it's got a great aesthetic and good features too.
However it is an XLR mic so you will need a mixer or pre amp setup, you also need a boom arm and XLR cable. Naturally the sound you get out of it will vary depending on the environment you're in but also the settings you're using on your pre-amp. You might need to tweak the noise gate, compressor and other settings to get it sounding good. Though I found it mostly seems to block out sound and keep things quiet.

Bass on quadcast was a bit heavy for my ears, but when you switched procast it started to flow into my ears

What is the name of your bracket?
I prefer the sound of the Procast, but I also had the Quadcast S and used it for a couple of years before switching to XLR. The Quadcast S sounds great and is very versatile. I also compared the Procast with the Neat King Bee II and I preferred the Procast over it too. It doesn't sound quite as warm but it's cleaner and more detailed than the King Bee II imo.

Will you be using the procast over the SM7b? I am in the market for a new mic....so many choices. Currently I use SM58 and I really like the sound of beyerdynamic microphones (maybe m 201 TG is in the running-there is a cool big wind screen by shure that fits on it) but the gold standard seems to be the SM7b and hard to go a different route when people have such great success with it. (Though I don't like that you have to drive it so hard)

Hello, i just bought Hyper X procast and i didnt know i need to buy cable seperated but what cable should i buy? And what is that Razor box you are connected to with the mic?
You can buy any XLR cable for the mic, and the Razer box he is using is the interface the mic plugs into which then plugs into the PC. I use an Elgato Wave XLR interface with my Procast.
