  • Jesus said to a deaf man with a speech impediment, "'Ephphatha,' that is, 'Be Opened." The man's ears were opened and his tongue released. He was healed. He deals with us in the same way, and in doing so, he curb stomps Satan. I explain how in this sermon on Mark 7:31-37.

Thank you Pastor for the proper administration of the word. The Elders in our LCMS circuit meet weekly (at least some of us). A few months back we had a conversation how we don't preach or teach enough on spiritual warfare. Almost as if we don't acknowledge the forces and tactics deployed to deconstruct society, our homes and churches. When these discussions don't routinely take place, it's as if the enemy isn't at our doorstep or the enemy isn't an immediate threat. When you have a threat or enemy, it is only natural to study the characteristics of said enemy and teach in this case the flock on how the enemy attacks and then strategize to combat said enemy. We have seen a mass erosion of society and it's as if the laity either doesn't know how to respond or that they have been gradually calloused to many matters that present on a daily basis.
I hope you have a moment for quick theology question...When did Revelation 12:7-10 chronologically take place? He tempts Eve in the garden. How is it possible for Satan to be in the court of God in the book of Job if he was cast to the earth below? I've searched for scripture on this matter, or is this a Deuteronomy 29:29 item.
