Being a retired Customer Service Manager that sealed the deal for me. One other responded a few days later and referred my back to their website, the other never got back to me at all. It didn't matter at that point. I had already ordered the Drotto even though it was the most expensive. Glad I did. It works perfectly and is a quality product.
You made it look so easy to just slide the boat back on the rollers....I tried today with all my might and some help and could not get it to budge. What gives?!
Seen lots of times in person if u fish when its below freezing they freeze up always pur ur safety chain on when u go up the ramp seen it in person multiple times drottos coming open because they didnt latch cause they were frozen
My Shorelander trailer has a width that is a hair under 3" more like 2 7/8 in width. I may have to do a little bit of expanding on the trailers gap to make it work... I'll consult with someone at Waffle House. Them boys know everything!!! 🤣
So you cant visually confirm the boat is locked in. I guess you have to wait until you pull up ramp and if your boat isnt laying on the concrete its locked in. You could trying powering back off the trailer to see if its locked in but thats a lot of stress on the d wing, winch tower, and latch mechanism. Im curious about whether the spring tensions holds the latch claws open or keeps them closed, because it does make a huge difference. what happens when the spring tension on the latch wears over time. The latch claws should also over lap each rather than just closing together. I dont like to be a negative nancy, but I see to many flaws in this system. Im just not trying to see my 85k Pheonix laying on the concrete one day. No thank you.
It literally says in the instructions that you shouldn't pull your boat out of the water without attaching the winch strap. You're suppose to pull a few feet forward so you can attach your winch strap and tighten without getting in the water. You do this before you pull the rest of the way out of the water.

Haha this was me today too! I ended up jacking the boat a little to relieve pressure on the rollers. Gabe me just enough room to install the Drotto.
I was thinking the same because I’ve tried to push the boat back before and I swear it didn’t look that easy lol

Does this latch work just as good on an aluminum eye which is a little thicker than a steal eye?
Why do some Drotto photos/ videos have a roller, and other's do not?
Why didn't you install the roller that came with the kit, that is sitting on the back of your truck at 1:43 and is shown in the video at 3:35?
They are installed for front heavy boats that catch on the way off the trailer. Have seen other videos where it’s explained.
