IWon't have a boat trailer without one. If you fish solo it's really great. I moved the winch post forward when I put it on my Ranger. On my 194 ChampioN it worked without moving it. However the boat was plenty forward on the trailer. Put a short rope with a hook on it for the latch handle. Makes it a lot easier to pull on the way to the drivers seat.
I agree! I won't have a boat without it. I'm an older guy so anything to make it easier is welcomed. Thanks for the great suggestions! My brother uses a short rope on his Champion bass boat as well. I'm hoping to get on the lake next week to use the system some more. Do you stll have your Champion? Thanks for watching! 👍
New subscriber here I just want to say im glad I came across ur channel. I love all ur boat content. It's always good to watch a video on somebody else doing the work that ur about to do on ur boat. To show u some tips and tricks on how to do so. I'm glad I stumbled across this video and look forward to more content. Keep up the great work and dedication to the channel content. And much love to ya from Maryland❤❤❤
Thank you so much! I'm thrilled you like the content! I always try to go the extra mile to provide helpful and hopefully enjoyable videos. Thanks for watching!! 👍
Well, with this device you won't have to! The Drotto is designed to hold up to 7,000 pounds once it locks into place. You can pull the boat out of the water at that point and then attach your wench strap and emergency chain later. I only attached the strap and chain because I was already standing there. Thanks for watching!! 👍
@@ranger178 , good question. Ultimately, you'll have to get out of the boat, but you don't have to worry about attaching the wench strap or emergency chain. The Drotto is rated to hold up to 7,000 lbs which is way above the weight of most boats. Another good thing is the Drotto positions your boat on the trailer perfectly every time. That's a bonus right there! It also rides better driving down the road. No more struggling to get your boat positioned on the trailer correctly. The Drotto takes care of that!
It actually does the opposite. If you look at my boat, I have damage from the previous bow roller. My brother has owned one now for several years and has zero damage. Thanks for watching! 👍
That boat launch looks familiar lol. Hate loading my boat, thanks to your video I’m looking into one !
I take it you've launched there a few times. lol I'd feel naked without my drotto! Makes launching easy for us old fellas! Thanks for watching!
I installed one on my trailer two seasons ago and has worked perfectly ever since.
That's great! It just makes loading and unloading so much easier! Especially when the boat ramp is busy. Thanks for watching! 👍
Really nice installation! Good instruction
Thanks! I wish I would've included footage of launching the boat with the drotto. I may do that in another video. Thanks for watching! 👍
@@HawksDIY hope to see it! And thank you for the sub!

We added steps to load and unload, never get your feet wet again! We love our Drotto!
That's awesome! I think the Drotto is well worth the money. Such a good investment for your boat. Thanks for watching!! 👍
Interesting device.
Yes it is! My brother has one on his bass boat so I've used them for a while now. They work great! 👍
The tabs on the filler washer were to keep you from sticking your fingers in the hole to line it up.......just sayin.
Yeah, I realized that after I did the video. Learn as you go. Thanks for watching!! 👍

That thing scuffs the hell out of your bow!!! WTH??
No, the scuffs were there prior to the install. The scuffs were there before I purchased the boat. Thanks for watching!
@@HawksDIY good to know , will this handle a 25’ sea ray sundeck 240?
@@back2basics668 , yes, you'll have to measure your bow roller bracket on your trailer to know what model to purchase.
@@HawksDIY thanks man great video btw!
@@back2basics668 , thanks! 👍
Looks like it’s gonna scratch your boat to hell and back
