@@KR-jq6rugonna go out on a limb and say very little money is changing hands for pretty much any of the big ticket parts on any of these builds. The price limit is sticker price, not actual money.
The vendors are getting millions of viewers (not just here) seeing their product spoken about in glowing terms from high quality content creators. You almost can't buy that publicity. Very different to a sponsor spot.
The builders get gear to make content with.
Everyone wins.

The grease on the axleshaft is a great tip. I haven't thought about doing that in the past. Normally I just tell the axle to bite the pillow, cause I'm going in dry!

I have done MSHA training for all open pit mines for 12 years. Lots of good training for hazards that can get you in serious trouble. Let's see them toys. Stay safe

Colton glad you were able to get out of underground mining. So dangerous and unhealthy. My grandpa worked coal underground in Carbon County until he started having lung problems. Went to work in a sulfur mine and then ended up working above ground in Bingham. My dad worked underground up around Bingham Canyon in a lead mine. He was so glad to get out. Miners-tough job, tough men. I don’t understand why they aren’t allowed in bars.🙄

April 5th I hit 43 years old.
Last April 15th I had a widow maker hart attack and had two stints put in so I'm happy as heck to have made it this far.
Hope you guys are still trying to be healthy....as much as ya can.

@colton My family are mostly West Virginia coal miners. Im sure the lack of exposure to sunlight and vitamin d plays a huge part in mental status. Ive been in tipples, slate dumps, ran a continuous miner. Theres no way i could do it. Hats off to you, sir.

Colton: I hear you! Negative people are unhappy, what they do is what they are doing to themselves and they drag others into their misery.
Me: I try to be positive in every day life, if I encounter someone who is negative I try to change their subject matter like asking about something they are positive about. If for any reason they cannot be happy, I tell them I can only talk to you if you think positive.

@ Colton I'm a towerhand and we have to take an 8 hr refresher course and test on rigging and advanced rigging so I know how you feel I've been in the industry for 5 years

I wish I had the patience and knowledge Colt does when building front ends and rear ends. Not gonna lie, I keep them pretty well stock and when I ultimately break them, I just swap the whole damn thing out. lol. That goes for automatic transmissions too.
BTW: I was an underground coal miner in WV for several years too. Continuous and long wall. You’re right about how miserable everyone can be underground. I might add cut throat too. I started mining straight out of the army and it was quite a culture shock going from camaraderie between everyone you work with everyday to not being able to turn your back to anyone without them going outside and cutting your head off to the mine foreman. Especially on the production crew.
