Marcel Dettmann - Stone Techno 2023 - ARTE Concert

Marcel Dettmann règne sur la scène techno depuis les années 90. En résidence au Berghain, il est l’un des grands noms de la techno moderne. Ses créations oscillent entre techno contemporaine et pré-techno, offrant une esthétique singulière à la fois brute et sobre, aussi intense qu’imprévisible.
Tout en tissant des liens avec les institutions berlinoises que sont le Berghain et le Hard Wax, Dettmann est resté fidèle à ses racines est-allemandes et s’est toujours efforcé de renouveler la musique électronique, notamment en mêlant la techno et les arts visuels. Sa passion pour la musique électronique est née très tôt, dès sa jeunesse à Berlin-Est - bien que la new wave, le post-punk et l’indus figurent aussi parmi ses influences majeures, bien avant qu’il découvre la techno et qu’il y trouve sa voie. Depuis le début des années 90, il fait partie des artistes et DJ phares de la scène techno berlinoise. En 1999, il est le premier artiste résident au club berlinois Ostgut, puis rejoint le Berghain qui lui succède en 2004 et où il n’a cessé d’être le bienvenu.
Les productions de Dettmann pour son propre label, Marcel Dettmann Records, les sons qu’il propose aux platines du Ostgut, tout comme ses compilations et autres mixes pour fabric, Music Man, !K7 et Dekmantel, proposent une esthétique singulière qui oscille entre techno contemporaine et pré-techno, que l'on peut apprécier dans le cadre de ce set festivalier.
Concert filmé le 8 juillet 2023 à l'occasion du festival Stone Techno au Zollverein, site inscrit au Patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO.

In Zeiten von 150 BPM Intros und Instagramposts, wo nur Break nach Break und Handup gezeigt wird, ist es schln zu sehen, dass Marcel Dettmann einfach einen scheiß darauf gibt und einfach genau das Gegenteil tut - wohlgemerkt das Publikum feiert mindestens genauso und sieht deutlich sympathischer aus^^ Marcel du bist und bleibst King. Niemand macht so lässige und zeitgleich so nasty mucke wie du. Lieb deine Mucke seit 20 Jahren und vermutlich für die nächsten 50. Das neue Release ist auch einfach wieder so bockstark. Letztens erst alle 4 Nummern in 2 Sets gespielt.

Am I back in 2003 (without the 140 BPM) ? Wow, , until today I did not realise that I was missing the repetitiveness and druggy side of Techno, especially when it's so nicely done. Thanks Marcel, hope your views spread out to other DJs. What an AMAZING set.

Rave and crave. The all knowing sensation of insanity and neurosis of the human mind rearing its head around the corner.
