    This isn't about air quality, it is about driving small companies out of business so that only the big ones are left. The big ones can then increase their prices since they have a monopoly.

      its IS about AIR quality, older engines before 2010 , create more than allowed Emissions .
      they can swap out Engine for 2010 or NEWER engine.
      however BEV semi already Exist in 2023 , TESLA semi w/ 500 mile range , Class 8, 82k Gross.

      CNG, Hybrids & H2 made with Fossil FOOLS does not help.
      by , BANNING any HD truck w/ 2010 or OLDER engine , this saves on TOTAL EMISSIONS, and better for everyone.
      and BEV HD trucks already exist, with Tesla semi being the MOST efficient and HEAVY haul semi @ 82k Gross for 535+ miles.
      Longest RANGE too.

      @@markplott4820 very true. I have driven new complaint trucks and have left me stranded on the side of the road. And Tesla promised it's electric truck to be fully functional in 2017. The only thing that was able to haul was potato chips. Guess why a lot of old companies are just shutting down in a lot of states. Unreliable trucks that are too expensive to maintain

      Tesla also hauled FULL LOAD from Fremont to SD , Grapevine @ 4,000+ jf, 82k Gross for 500 miles , with 35+ miles Remaining , only one pee break.
      TESLA hauled FULL LOAD 82k Gross of Drinks & Snacks from Modesto to Sparks NV for the Semi event.

    So CA wants to improve air quality for future generations I imagine, but do they not realize that CA as a state is still supposed to sink into the ocean in like 35-50 years? So I think air quality & driving away small mom & pop trucking businesses should be the least of their concerns.

    It’ll come to Oregon and Washington too brothers and sisters. We gotta put our foot down and remind the goverment We The People make the rules. Prices are gonna skyrocket since there will not be enough trucks to transport goods. This law would put some of my family who own semis out of business possibly permanently. New truck costs around give or take $200,000.

      bro my fleet of 5 trucks all pre 2000 trucks and roll in to southern california twice a week from texas, i mean we never stop at the banning scale and dot can care less, CARB doesn't have the personal to stop the hundreds of thousand trucks going int to california daily. so don't see how that affects out of state trucks, yes locals can't get plates or permits but we will keep working

      @@YourLocalShooter Cally residents are for sure dumping that Sh*t hole state but they are migrating all over, west of the divide. Not just Oregon, Washington. Go to Idaho, Montana or Colorado. They are totally different states now with all the cally migration. You used to get a good idea of what state somebody was from just by there driving habits. Now every state citys roads and highways are like L.A. All together, this regulation, AB5 and the electric truck mandate coming down Cally is pushing truckers OUT. My opinion, Help California out, and JUST DON'T GO THERE. I know easer said then done.

      Yes there was, but it doesn't change the fact that trying to upgrade to these unreliable trucks is still a cost burden two small companies.
      Big companies pass the cost alone in small increments to where the consumer really doesn't notice.

Only goes 500 miles and has to be charged every night in order to get the so called 500 miles. So what happens if my freight goes further than 500 miles? Also what's going to be the resale value after the batteries are shot to shit. How much does it cost for the batteries to be replaced?

    There's plenty of old/new trucks he can buy that are compliant. 2010's 2011's etc are old POS's but still compliant.
