It's always good to hear a little history about Jamie's career. Sad the ole truck is just sitting but still a great story. I'm glad Jamie takes the time to do these videos.
Jamie seems like the type of guy you could sit down and drink a beer with anytime. You would never get bored listening to him I'm sure. Friendly self made guy. Love hwy thru hell too.
Love these old GM Medium Duty Trucks. Absolutely bulletproof.
Enjoy your videos, keep them coming . Davis family.
Nice remembering old days. It's nice of you to tell the history of towing. We can't get to where we are going if we don't know where we have been.
Deregulation trucking has not served the public well. We were much better off when Motor Carrier Commission required proof of need, rates for trucking, towing, buses and taxis. Ensuring that carriers were protected from undo competition, this also protected the public from fly by night operators and carriers in small communities...
In late 70's drove 64? KW with Holmes 750 one day for Superior Towing in North Vancouver. They were stuck as none of there drivers except the owner could drive 5 and 4 transmissions. Don't think there are many drivers left who can drive with elbow thru steering wheel, hand on main stick and other hand on A-box and NOT using clutch. You needed to control engine rpm with one finger pulling gently on the sticks until feeling the gears snyc, complete shift and back on the power. It was pain if screwing up getting the main and A-box in neutral at same time. It took me a long time to master 5 and 4, learning on 1967 KW with NTC 335 and 5 + 4. Later driving 13 speed Road Ranger was like heaven!
What a great old truck. Would love to see it going down the road again. If not that, clean it up and put it out front as an advertisement. Thanks for another great video. Stay safe.
Really like your videos and stories Jamie...when I started trucking out of Vancouver in the 60's Busters was the most prevalent towing operator and everytime i watch your stuff i can't help remembering their presence in that city. 👍
Another great video and story. Always look forward to them, keep up the great work Brianna. Take care everyone!
Thanks Jamie, I love hearing how you grew the business.
I used to have a c65 Chevy w Holmes set up. Dolly wheels, the whole show. Wish I had another.
Please make videos restoring the old trucks!!.. we enjoy this and want more
I had a 1978 ford f700 with a weld built 16 ton twin boom wrecker, what a beast wish I had kept it!
Interesting.... I just retired ( for now ) from 37 years trucking.... one of my first trucks I drove was a 1976 Chevy C - 60 very similar to the wrecker shown in this vid. It had a 427 with an Eaton 5 speed / 2 speed electric shift axle. I drove that old truck from 1985-1987... all around Seattle with a 20 foot Ocean container on the flatbed ... would make pickups..... Then, in 1987 I talked a lumber company into hiring me to drive semis... But...cool tow truck...Very cool... I remember that cab very well...
Great show love 2 c u and the crew doing 1 of the toughest trucking jobs keep up the good work and great show's!!!!!!
Love your show Jamie Davis you're the best I'm a big fan
Neat truck. Glad you still own it.
Good morning Jamie and Brianna . Love the stories and enjoy the show. I have a boss that did the same think. I work for a small trans company here in Ontario and we used to do a lot of Food Product at one time. So he Had an Old Chev truck like yours and was all painted up and restored but never saw the road again. Last summer he cleaned up our back yard and was crushed and hauled away.
Hey Jamie, nice to see and hear ya stories again ! I no it’s your busy time but we really enjoye the truck, shop talk and family stories, keep videos comming!!! Maybe u do a RUclips live for us??? That b kewl!!🔥🔥🇨🇦🔥🤙🔥
Love your passion of Heavy Equipment
Nice to hear history you been around long time are getting rotator to add to fleet
That's super cool very good video!
I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for that. You have a lot of projects on your plate but that would make a nice little show truck
No no it wouldn't ...it needs to be taken to the scrapyard and crushed its junk!!
That International beside it has my eye. Got a sweet spot for those S series ones.
I had fun growing up in my uncle's wrecker.i learned to work it.
My dream is that I would like to be able to live there and drive you Mr Davis.
Love the old 🚚
Good morning
Well Jamie I thank you for the morning video 👍 I think it's time to slowly finish your first wrecker. Maybe just make it a show truck or free advertisement? Well you have a good day 😎
I think Jr. should restore that truck and do some light towing to get his feet wet. Would love to see that!
Hey guys:) merry new year. Would you guys ever do an in-depth tool box and shop tour? Keep it classic Jamie!
Decent Jimmy Decent
Like a rock You Have the best Reality Show On TV
Keep it and restore it as a marker for where it all began. Good memories
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Good looking old truck
MORE ON THE TRUCK!!!!
Wow Jamie I have been watching you for a long time and didn’t know about ken wow sorry to be the last to know here in central Florida you are a great man in my eye as a very small tow company.
Would be cool to see it running and towing cars but I can see that you guys have a lot of projects. I am the same way too.
That's sad that the truck is just sitting there rusting away, some of the truck is done it would be nice to see it all finished and on the road again
I love driving anything old and reliable.
Aaaaah. What a beast 😎 Unfortunately we can't have anything that triggers the senses in Europe, would drive a big v8 if it wouldn't cost so much to just get it on the road. Greetings from Belgium Jamie!
It be great just to see it restored as a show piece of where it all started. Put it in parades.
Have a very happy new year 2021, may all your wishes and hopes for the next year come true, and stay healthy and happy, with best regards from Ernst from Augsburg / Germany
Such a great old truck! I feel with the history , time and money spent already why not just get it running and operable?
Jamies a hoarder and prefers to throw good $$$ after bad and then bitch about it
@@coachjm310 I'd disagree with that assumption.
@@coachjm310 actually, some people prefer to invest in and rejuvenate old equipment
Yes
I hope it sees the road again some day
HELLO JAMIE ITS IS RANDY AND MERRY CHARISTAMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR THANKS JAMIE 1 #FAN'S RANDY
Hello Brianna, just wanted to wish you and your family a safe and Happy New Year and also a big Happy Birthday to you. Now get your driver's license and get to driving that Tow Truck.
Would love to watch that get restored some day
PUT IT BACK ON THE ROAD !!!!! CHRISTMAS PARADE
Can you do a tour of your recent tow truck that you drive
Heya all the way from Ireland !! I'm wondering if Gregg still works for you ??
Nice to see a Irish guy on the show !!!
What year and model is that? I just bought a 86 GMC c7000 chip truck front end looks very similar.
Get that truck going 🤙
That is a great story, will you get a tow truck like quiring towing.?
Hi Jamie ...I have a question . Maybe i missed an episode but have yourself and Al ever did a recovery together on the series ? If not how come ??
Love your old truck . Is that a gas engine or the old 4 cylinder Diesel GM often used back then ?
Nice video guys, what's the story on that international next to it?
Isn't that the truck Ken slide down the hill in during a episode of highway thru hell?
Jamie where did the Western Star rotator end up did you sell it or is it in Alberta or do you still have that operation?
If I had the time I’d come down and try and deal with you to buy that truck from you and finish restoring it and get it working again
wish you can get this truck back on the road Jamie that way it and 47 can have work to do.
That would be awesome to see it on the road again one day next to 47
I think you all should resume the restoration Good luck
I know its not the same thing but we still have our original horse box just sitting around. So many memories travelling about the country in it. I would love to be able to have it done up and running again. If only funds allowed. Its just glorified storage now
It's still in good shape, far better than the couple still around in Winnipeg that are rusted beyond use.
There's a lot those wreckers around in the 70s you hardly ever see them anymore
Jamie finish restoring that truck and get it back on the road. Get that Holmes 600 pulling cars out of the ditch again like Truck 47 (its brother) lol
Split rims👍
Hey what up JD u guys should try and get that old first truck of urs going again and just use it for Ur Big Bread trucks out there medium duty work with that old girl put a sling on it Get it back Road worthy and safety wise fot DOT and u can Remanis that truck from when u bought way back in the day Right i love u channel ill learn a few things from u on here ok Tow safely and stay safe out therr and happy Holidays to u all i use to do that towing back in the day niw iam driving semi all over the Northeast getting that good Bank ok love ur Towing vedios and ur stories about Towing ok Have a Good one see ya
Finish it James...
Really like these videos, why did the truck go no further is it just something you ran out of time on or was there a structural or mechanical reason that stoped you returning it
Sounds like ownership of the truck is the reason he never finished. Belonged to his dad.
Where do you buy your red h ivis safety coveralls
When will we see the next season of Highway Through Hell?
Have you been to tow truck hall of fame in Chattanooga Tennessee
🐻🐻❄
You need to build a garage to part your antiques in.
I guess you have time now to go through all of the old vehicles you have that have sat in your yard for many years , sad it didn't see more of the road >
I miss your show on Netflix but they have rescue 401 near Toronto but that show is not as good as the one you had. I watched all the episodes and felt like I was a part of your family. Have a great 2020 Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Truck looks like its in great shape why not run it or sell it?
Time to get it out and finish it for parade use
If the truck is mechanically sound, along with the wrecker unit, why not finish it off? Looks like it would still work well for smaller jobs.
Money.
i wish adam would come back
Question, wheres Bruces Truck now?
Like a rock that dont move 😆 friggings turds
Sir Jamie !!! That ""OL"" chevy Wrecker that you see in the desert ,,is that why you would like it to restore this 1 on the video ??? Great updates & Thanks !! ""KEEP IT SAFE ""!! Have A ""MERRY CHRISTMAS "" With Family & Friends !!! Too bad you ain't gona finish what you started even though you don't have the title for it !!!
Well sell it
Where’d the show go? No more Netflix or TWC?
Should sell it, how much?
We need a new video.
Feb 19 2022
shoulda had Earl Scheib paint it for $29.99!!
Jamie get that truck going and use it as a yard truck for moving stuff around
Reading the comments we all seem to say the same thing , no disrespect but why is it sitting rotting , easy to say to you to spend your hard earned on an old motor I know ! But it would make a good discovery series ( seriously) Jamie renovates his first truck !
Needs some red paint
I'd rebuild it and just use it as a Sunday driver or as a keeper.
Put a good chassis on it and your rollin now. Then give to your son and let him build it out for himself. He can use it or sell it. His project vehicle just like dad
Jackie
Would be cool to repower it with a 3116 cat or something reliable
yeah good idea lay off some guys and put the $ towards this bad ass truck that couldn't pull a wheel barrow out of the garden
@@coachjm310 if all you have to say is bad things about Mr. Davis and his company, why troll his page dude? There's many collectors that desire these, especially having holmes units.
@@coachjm310 because this coach goof is probably just a 12 year old boy in moms basement.
Theoriginaljohnnycocozza not trolling Mr. Davies just commenting on your idiotic idea of advising him to sink about $15 large into installing a 3116 Cat . Into this old wreck. It's guys like you with no $$$ in the picture that come up with these ??? Ideas when you know he is short on $$$$
@@coachjm310 I didn't say it needs to be don't tomorrow did I? No sir I didn't. I have plenty of projects. They get attention when I can give them attention. One of which, is a 50' ford wrecker. I don't jeopardize my finances working on them.
Enjoy the video !! But way to short !!
very simular to truck 47
Everyone who's ever been involved in unsticking a Cat D6, raise your hand.... We had one whose operator had backed it off below the waterline on a drained lake. Talk about stuck!

Why is fine with you how not on Netflix
Enjoy these videos and the stories. Why not paint it up and use it as advertising outside your merchandise store.
