I really enjoyed your video clip and why you decided to purchased the xt5 for me the reason is that I don't want to transfer files to photoshop and work on them I just want to shoot and same day delivery to clients . I was looking for the Nikon or Sony or go back to Canon but accidentally I came across Fujifilm xt5 with film simulation and right away I told myself the XT 5 is coming home with me. And for videos Im thinking of getting the black magic camera 6k pro but here is the other situation that I face , in some places the cameras of this kind are not allowed only smart phones . So my iPhone 15 pro max will do the job .
Thanks. I get the attraction of the video and film sims with Fujifilm, it was important when I got my X-S10. But has i said, the film sims be came way less important has I used the camera. I don't think I wanted my new, high tech camera to give me photographs that look like ones i got in the 1980s with a film camera. But if you have the time, I found you can create your own sims or recipes to get jpegs straight from the camera that look like I want them to lok. But the post production processing is still my preference. As for videos, I use my iPhone a lot. I even bought a little hot shoe iPhone mount so I can video on my phone while taking photographs if i want.
Performance for price, lens selection and external controls are what drove my decision to buy my X-t3. The fun of using it keeps me with it. I got my X-T3 barely used in 2020 with the xf18-55 and the non-battery grip along with extra batteries for just over $1K. I couldn't even touch most other bodies for that price. It was still in the original box and still wrapped like new. I don't see myself "upgrading" any time soon either. It's still more than enough camera for my needs and it's so robust. I take it hiking all the time. It's "built like a Mack" as we say here in the Lehigh Valley! LOL! I almost bought the X-S10, but at first try it seemed to small for me. So, I waited. I'm a very patient shopper. And, the X-T3 popped up one day. Ughhh.... I'm looking out my office window as I type this and watching this snow come down. I'm so ready for spring!! Nice explanation video. Love the FD content. A former student of mine and his father do on scene FD photography here in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania. Wetherhold Photography. Cool stuff! Have a rockin' day.
Got to agree. Fujifilm has cameras in several "style" options (ie., XT, XH, XS and X100V), offers lots of bang for the buck and lots of room to grow. FYI, one of the things I like about my X-S10 is the small size, but it still has a great grip. I carry my camera around (with just a wrist strap) all the time so I like to 'smaller' cameras. And just a note, before Mack trucks were built in PA, they were built in my hometown of Plainfield NJ.
It's sort of interesting. Most of the other brands have treated crop as an also-ran or strictly as a pricing ladder to full frame. Fuji is the only one to prioritize crop. I have an XE4 and the 50mm F2. Together they form the bulk of my stills kit. So approachable and no need for a lot of editing. (For video though, all Sony.)
Totally agree. When I started out, I was initially attracted to Fujifilm by the price and size of their cameras. I just wanted something I could easily carry around and get good images (ie., better than my phone). Once I started using them, I fell in love with them. I love the styling, the controls, and the colors so now I am now all in. And just FYI, I think that was probably a smart strategy for Fujifilm. They were probably not ever going to be bigger than Canon or Sony, so instead, carve a solid section of the market with distinct, yet capable cameras. I still like Nikon gear, but I am putting money into Fujifilm.
I also have & love the X-T 1, better than the newer models. Since you seem to also appreciate it’s particular attributes, I would recommend to give an X-E2 a shot (an equal favorite of mine), which is basically the X-T1 innards in a very different body. & being as old as the X-T1, just as cheap 👌
I like (and use) the X-T5 a lot. The X-T5 does some things better than the old X-T1, but there is something special about the X-T1. I love its small size and every time I use it, I am so impressed with the images, especially the colors. I also really like the looks of the X-T cameras - they have a classic 35 mm film camera look - and they look good with the larger zoom lenses I typically use. I think the X-E2 would be a great 'pocket' camera with the right lens.
I started my deliberations about which camera to buy with Nikon zf, always wanted to own a legendary Nikon, but then upon days of more research I realized that this is going to be bulkier (I want a travel camera) and more expensive (with lenses) route plus those Fujifilm film simulations really appealed to me. I also suspected that in terms of ergonomics X-T5 will be easier to grab (zf is too retro in terms of its thin grip).
I liked my X-S10 and really thought my next camera purchase was going to the X-H2, then I used the X-T1 and really fell in love with the style and layout. That is why I ultimately got an X-T5. It has most of the same 'guts' as the X-H2 (including the 40 mp sensor) but with the dial controls instead of a more menu drive set of controls. If the controls and ergonomics are important, I would look at the X-T3 (or X-T30) or the X-S10. They are all around the same price. I also think the X-T2 is a great camera that you can find at a good priced used. Whichever way you go, you can start getting Fujifilm XF lenses. Great lenses that will work with any of those cameras.

Thank you! I like your firefighter focus. It gave me a warm feeling.
It has become a favorite part of my work.

How do you feel about the Nikon zf?
I love it. I have always liked Nikon equipment and I love the retro styling. It would probably be my tp pick of non-fujifilm cameras.
