Congratulations on your weight loss adventures. I'm a native & resident of suburban Charlotte, NC & it's nice to see other locals sharing their weight loss experiences. I'm beginning my third week on 2.5 mg Mounjaro for my recent Type 2 Diabetes diagnosis. I've lost 17 lbs. thus far & have many more to go. It's certainly contributed to my healthy eating regimen and my clothing fits better already. I've experienced manageable nausea, mild fatigue & constipation, & intermittent insomnia. I crave and indulge in occasional spoonfuls of peanut butter and Showmars Grilled Chicken Salads...I wholeheartedly advise you to try their salad!🥗😋 I welcome the side effects as a sign that the medicine is doing its job. Although I've always had an eye towards healthier living, I've fallen short in my longtime struggle with obesity. As a middle-aged Black man with several comorbidities & a statistically higher mortality rate, I'm taking this good health adventure very seriously as I'm certain you are. @@thedownsized my husband is on Ozempic he was diagnosed with diabetes he’s lost 63lbs and his weight loss has leveled he’s at his goal weight for now I have always been on the compound medication I’m working on 28 more lbs to get to my goal weight, my loss has been slower I’ll get there thanks for the reply

I see sooo many negative and discouraging comments on videos regarding weight loss. It makes me incredibly sad and angry. I try to stand up and advocate. But it gets exhausting trying to inform ignorance 😢 (even my own insurance co, Kaiser, who does not cover these drugs, but my PCP does write the prescription… Sent out a newsletter last week to all of the members saying that these medications are not helpful and they are not safe and people will gain the weight back and people should just diet and exercise or use phentermine! 😡 I tried phentermine three different times and lost ZERO pounds). And I see people constantly commenting on obesity videos: “obesity is not a disease” or “just put the fork down” or “obese people are just lazy” and on and on and on. 😡 Also, people (including Kaiser) tend to lump all “injectable weight loss drugs” into one category that they refer to as Ozempic. 🤯🙄 I’m on tirazeptide! Not semaglutide. I stared Zepbound (out of pocket 😢 but with the savings card) May 3rd. I’m 53-years-old. Down 17 lbs in 11 weeks, though I fluctuate. At age 41, I weighted 140. I went from a “normal” BMI to “obese” as soon as perimenopause started. And no amount of calorie counting or consistent/obsessive exercise helped. Zepbound is finally helping! And I still count calories and workout 45-90 min a day, 6 days a week. But now, I finally see results for all of my efforts! 🎉 Do you ever get trolls here? Rude naysayers? Can you just delete them? How do you cope with all of the misinformation out there? I want to advocate more, but people are sooo incredibly, depressingly offended by these drugs. I get way too emotional about it! 😩😡😬😂😅 (Sorry for the long rant and multiple questions 😊). (and thank you so much for being here! I especially love whenever you report recent news regarding these medications!)

It’s our mission to tell the world about these miracle life changing drugs. Not everyone wants to hear about them. But the truth is that Obesity is a disease. It’s not a moral failing. It’s not our fault. Diet and exercise will NEVER work to get all the way down to a “normal “ weight. But we will keep repeating it! That’s why we’re here. ❤️
this is Christopher - yes it can be terrible out there. We have simple become fearless and positive about it. Some days it’s more challenging than others. Most people in real life won’t be mean.
