They say things come in threes, and boy aren't they right? This week we kick off our time with three absolute TRAGEDIES, the worst of which is the absolute shattering of our turn-of-the-century light fixture which is one of a kind can't be replaced. Fun times. And then we just KEPT finding ridiculous disasters all around the house. A breaker box that looked like it had been installed by a drunk bridge troll, copper pots thrown onto a box of Victorian tiles, and random holes poked all over our newly finished drywall ceiling...
But let's get to the good part! THE KITCHEN RENOVATION IS BEGINNING!! This formerly dark, awkward and dingy space is about to get the facelift of a lifetime. How do we work around a space that started with five doors and two windows? Carefully... you do it carefully.
We start off sharing how we install the drywall on the ceiling, solve the issue of a bathroom door IN the kitchen and replacing partially rotten original flooring. HINT HINT: you do NOT have to replace your whole floor! As ever, we march boldly forward into another huge DIY room renovation, and just keep hoping that it all works out in the end.
