    “Welcome to the 1925 Bahner House rich and stately with unique Conway history. This wonderful home reveals great architectural appointments for a two story American Tudor influence. This majestic structure rises amidst the 2 acre property located in the center of Historic Conway. The current owner is part of the history of the original owner, Gustavus Lundsford Bahner. This 5 bedroom home has 3 baths with genuine hardwood floors. You will discover the solidity of this well built quality structure featuring Stem walls for the footing which provides a level of strength and quality. “
    Well…. That’s what the Zillow listing says anyway. We think there is SO much more to say and show about this architectural treasure! This is actually a Tudor Revival, with incredible Spanish and Mediterranean influences. It’s a style we rarely see in the South, and has been immaculately maintained.
    But wait, there’s more! This amazing historic home holds a very special place in our hearts and in our neighborhood. The builder of this home was also the builder of our own historic home! Our home was actually built where this home now sits. I’m 1925 our home was loaded up on logs, and hitched to a team of miles, rotated 180 degrees and rolled where it is now. The eldest son of the builder of this home was gifted our Scottie as a wedding gift, and then a new home with the finest most up to date amenities built in its place. We LOVED our neighbors who lived here for decades, and maintained this home beautifully. This home needs NOTHING! This is NOT a fixer upper or a DIY project. This home is fall in love and move your things in ready!
    Take a trip back in time with us today!

    My goodness, Laine, what kind of comments are you receiving?! It’s so sad that you feel you have to scold and/or lecture us all because of what I hope is a small percentage of negative comments. You are a beautiful woman, hard working and knowledgeable with a devoted husband. Revel in the positives and try to ignore the negatives! I was so happy to see someone else who appreciates original windows ! We’ve been told so many times we should replace our original 1913 windows for home value (we do have storm windows ) They’ve done a wonderful job preserving while updating. Love the pantry fixture and the paint color ! For the record other than Sundays and Fridays out , I dress the same most of the time ! What a special history

    This house is a delight! This has many of the details I’ve seen in Chicago bungalows built during the mid-1920s. They had a combination of painted and stained wood, oak and pine floors and linoleum (which is NOT the same thing as vinyl flooring) in the kitchens. You look comfy and casual in today’s video, Laine. I hope you recover quickly and well. Thank you for showing us this lovely home. I am always ready with my coffee on Thursday mornings to hang out in this community!🌸

    I thought your outfit was cute😂! Hope you’re feeling better.
    This house is very familiar to anyone in the older parts of the northeast but not at its wonderful level of preservation. Lots of things got “updated.” And now we’ve entered a terrible period of remuddling for millennials that’s as bad as the 1970s.
    For modern people these are very comfortable houses. The room proportions, the detail etc make then much homier for us than earlier styles. Although the owner of that house is lucky to have a reasonably sized kitchen. Many kitchens were shrunk when gas displaced huge coal stove battleships and middle class homes often had Irish maids.

  • @kennethstuckey7823
    @kennethstuckey7823 Год назад +7

    Laine, there is absolutely nothing wrong with how you are dressed, nor did you have to explain why you are dressed that way to anyone! You look fabulous, as always! What's more important is that you are healthy, you are on this video, and you are doing well!
    That house is spectacular. The exterior bricks are beautiful. The only thing I would change inside that house is the kitchen (1 example: french door type glass cabinets would make the area larger and compliments the french doors in the house), one of the bathrooms, and really make the side porch into a real 4 season area. I would also renovate that basement to house a games room, a powder room, and true mechanical/storage areas. I would enhance the outside gardens with additional landscape options. As it relates to your statement about painted woodwork, people also need to know that folks in the early 20th century often painted their woodwork because they wanted their homes to be light and airy and not dark and dreary; especially a home like the one we just viewed which has windows galore. I enjoyed the video!

    Beautiful home and reminds me of my parents first home built in 1923. It wasn't a Tudor revival but woodwork was painted, but had beams on the ceiling of the main living room. Hardwood floors throughout except one room had fir floors. This is a beautiful stunning home and anyone should be thrilled to own it. If a house could speak it's history would be a treasure trove of secrets.

If anyone is judging your looks and not the home, it's because they are jealous of you and what you've made for yourself. Your showing beautiful homes, not running a fashion show lol. The only thing i would note is the lack of hard surface driveway from the street through the port cocherre and on to the garage. I know it rains quite a bit down there and im sure you get some snow so driving on the lawn would be rather destructive of it.
    I'm glad you are working to preserve this place in it's original state.

Lyle (The photographer). Grew up in my house... at one point the roof was tiled with red rounded tiles.. so I have always thought of it as a craftsman bungalow with Spanish touches... keep up your lovely channel and I will keep watching...

I have a vlog for friends. What you are doing is for strangers more than anything, and don't you forget it! You are helping strangers by teaching, cheering us up with your feisty explanation. If you ever want a poncho, say the word, and I will get one to you. I have been giving them away to people in the hospital or breast feeding for 15 years. Sheets in hospitals are never long enough to cover the shoulders! What I like most about my ponchos? Either the silk for the diamond poncho, or the pockets with the ponchos made with pillowcases. Pillowcase ponchos are fully lined.

    Well dang, Laine! I thought you looked beautiful! Haters gonna hate no matter what. I love this gorgeous home and I’d love to be your neighbor. Now that y’all are MS residents you should tour the Eudora Welty home in Jackson. It is beautiful.
