I was shocked to hear that Melanie passed away. I never saw or heard any mention of this on the news. She was a girl from Queens, NYC who was so talented and never received the accolades she deserved. Writing songs that were part of the history of Woodstock and that generation, certainly made her one of the legends of that era. So sorry to hear of her passing.

She also wrote Lay Down (Candles in the Rain) that was written after her experience at Woodstock. She was a trailblazer and an important singer/songwriter. Her passing should have been part of the MSM News.

Everytime we went somewhere on our bikes, I would take the lead and 'Leader of the Pack' would be going through my head and I would pretend to "rev my bike" with the bike handles, lol. I had a bit of a freak out last autumn when I realized that in a year and a half (fall 2025), it will be 100 years ago that my father was born. That made me sit down abruptly, lol.
his show still plays on Antenna TV during the weekends although any nudity is blocked out lol. I remember watching it back in the 80s and it still makes me laugh today! It is sad he ended up dying alone in his home after he had entertained so many people throughout the world.

I was a huge fan of the show when I was a kid, got the episodes from a collector, and still watch them sometimes. I knew Herbert Cowboy Coward since 1967 when he was our neighbor. He and my dad remained friends after he moved across town. He made a movie with Bill McKinny in 2006 called Dean Teaster's Ghost Town. I also worked on the movie. He was quite the character. He was also being treated for cancer.

I didn't see the Melanie death in the news. I grew up to Dad playing her, and of course, the wurzels doing 'brand new combine harvester' to Melanie's 'brand new key'. It's a real memory for me, down to the pink album cover. RIP all

I knew Herbert Cowboy Coward since 1967 when he was our neighbor. He and my dad remained friends after he moved across town. He made a movie with Bill McKinny in 2006 called Dean Teaster's Ghost Town. I also worked on the movie. He was quite the character. He was also being treated for cancer.
