How To: Remove/Replace an S14 Fuel Sending Unit or Float

In this video, we show you how to remove the fuel sending unit or fuel float from your s14 gas tank. This can be a difficult task if you can't see how it works, so we cut open a broken tank to show what it looks like inside.

Thank you! Was super helpful, see if I can fix the sender now. One tip, tie a string to the screwdriver! I dropped mine into the tank! Took me 30 mins to get out with a magnet and a flexible rod!

Tried to do this a few times myself, it's so ridiculously difficult. Also tip for people.... drill a hole through the handle of the screwdriver and put a string through it and tie it off incase you drop it

So question the gas tank I bought doesn’t have a sending unit or metal tab. BUT some how it still worked perfectly before I pulled it out of the car, so I got a bad gas tank with a metal tab and sending unit to install into my good gas tank. How do I get the metal tab out?

helpful video. for those wondering about this, the metal bracket that holds the sender has two bumps on it on the outer sides of it. it's a U shape and there is abump on the left and right side of the U that you need to move the sender over.
