Hello and today I present my opinions about the covers (both original and redesign) of #TheLunarChronicles series by the talented and wonderful #MarissaMeyer. The series is made up of #Cinder, #Scarlet, #Cress, #Winter, #Fairest, #StarsAbove, and #WiresandNerves
PLOT: "Once upon a time, in the future . . . .
The Lunar Chronicles are futuristic retellings of classic fairy tales. In 'Cinder', a teenage cyborg (half human, half machine) must deal with a wicked stepmother, start a rebellion against the evil Queen Levana, and decide how she feels about a handsome prince. As the series continues, Cinder forges alliances with Scarlet, a spaceship pilot who is determined to solve the mystery of a missing loved one―with the help of a magnetic street fighter named Wolf; Cress, a computer hacker who is imprisoned by Queen Levana; and Winter, a princess who's in love with a commoner, and who discovers that Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress may hold the key to saving her kingdom―and the world."

Honestly the redesign is what caught my eye. I fell in love with just cinders cover and soon fell into the rabbit hole. I am so happy I found this series. 3rd book in and I'm dying from cresses fantasies of thorne

I know and I understand. I think I love them so much because they are, in my opinion, so different from the other YA sci fi covers out there. I'm so glad you found this series. I can't wait to hear what you think of WINTER.

I respect that. I love the original covers. The original cover of CINDER is one of the reasons that drew me into the books.

for the scarlet redesign, I think the reason it feels so off is that the brain loves symmetry. theres so much to look at and focus on on the left that the right feels off. I think shifting wolf up or scarlet over could've resolved it a bit.

I love scarlet's redesign more.. And cress redesign..cinder and winter I like the older version.. But really I love all the characters and their stories 💫😍

I prefer more simplistic covers personally, so I'm more on the side of the previous designs.

Do I have to read them in order? I haven’t read cinder yet but I really wanted to read the stars above

You do have to read them in order--Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, Winter. If you want to learn about more Queen Levana, you can read Fairest if you want.
As for Stars Above, to my knowledge, some of the short stories are set before Cinder and there's one or two set after Winter.

I love both but I think the only one where the new cover wins for me is Stars Above.
