Always love your playing and tone, but so glad to hear you preach not to be afraid to repeat the same riff over and over, as many demo players will keep switching riffs/leads/chords while sweeping the pedals knobs.
Great lesson as always, Cory. At this point, your archive of free lessons is bordering on philanthropy! 🤣 I always look forward to sitting down for half an hour or so and working through the new content.
Corey that Les Paul has a special blessing and spirit about it. Unless you ever find and can afford that extra special original 59 maybe 60 model, I think you have a lifetime keeper.
Man, you really tore it up on that opening Billy G. inspired solo! Those riffs were galloping across the fretboard headed for the finish line. Great playing Corey and terrific lesson.
When i listen to billy , its like taking a walk thru his influences jimmy reed, john lee , muddy , jimi , magic sam. . My favorte zztop stuff are his boogie drenched riffs and pinch harmonics played and placed perfectly . A master of dynamics and tone and phrasing
Funky Kings is one of Billy’s best funky rock compositions. Loved that you got to it. I always thought it would have been perfect if the outro was 10 minutes longer. Lol Thanks for the upload. Enjoying the channel.
Anything Billy...and i'm here......:-) i know we've heard it before...but it's soooo good..... and also, i find Billy's style reasonably well to play myself.....
Another killer dual-purpose vid, Corey. J Rockett pedals have great build quality and tone mojo. The Archer Ikon hasn’t left my board since I bought it, almost always switched on.
Thanks Corey, I think you might have helped me realise why I can play the La Grange 1st solo but not the 2nd....the change of timing you mention seems like it might be the key I've missed. Looking forward to sitting down with my guitar and attempting this.
fantastic tone touch & killer pocket Corey !!!! the pocket the Rev has that unique rythmic thang he has you deal out real nice too !! 👌I do like the Rockett El Hombre pedal 👍👍👍
Corey, this is a cool pedal and great lesson on the great Billy Gibbons! I have just noticed in your playing how you often play very comfortably behind the beat. Sounds very chill and funky. How did you develop this in your playing? Love your vids dude!
Sounds good. When you play live do you crank your amp(s) and turn the volume on the pedals down, or do you run your amp at a lower volume and crank the od volume more?
The cleanest player alive....Great pocket....Everything always is so tight when you play.....You could be playing something dirty like this? and its so clear.....
Corey, I know you talked about "driving" the Two Rock and this pedal was too much for the Blues Jr., which as you know, is what I have. but do you consider this J. Rockett El Hombre, strictly speaking, an overdrive? Or is it a distortion pedal?

Really good lesson....great way to start out the weekend!
Oh this is golden - absolutely the sound of the Reverend Gibbons!👌🤘

Thanks! This is probably as close as I'll get to a 59!
I agree with that!!! Every time I hear him play this guitar I think wow, that is the best sounding Les Paul I’ve heard

Billy is one of my favorites, the groove doesn't get much better. Thanks Corey!!

I love the Archer too. I was watching this video wondering how the two would sound together.
I am really happy with the Working Class Guitar VIP subscription, Thank You !

Very welcome
Justv another awesome lesson from Corey..thanks dude!
Another one to add to my watch later collection in hopes I’ll have time to explore and practice! Thanks for another great lesson!
You got it!
Cool lesson on both, tone and soloing. Thanks.

Alright alright alright!
Dude you're ruling on that intro!!!
🙏🏻
Very interesting lesson. Would be nice a course on rhythmic phrases/patterns for soloing :)
Great suggestion!
Corey, this is a cool pedal and great lesson on the great Billy Gibbons!
I have just noticed in your playing how you often play very comfortably behind the beat. Sounds very chill and funky. How did you develop this in your playing? Love your vids dude!
Thanks! That's a tough question. I try to listen to the kick and snare and fall in between them. That's the short answer I guess!
I think it sounded great when u played fast over that progression.. mixing the 8th notes with the 16th notes would be great to! Great lesson Corey!
Great lesson too, whatever your playing ability!!
Yeah good sounding pedal for the "El Hombre" tone Corey. Sounds like the crunch channel on a Mesa Mark V with the gain set low :)
Yes it does! It really does!!
Right on!
Sounds good. When you play live do you crank your amp(s) and turn the volume on the pedals down, or do you run your amp at a lower volume and crank the od volume more?
I try to get the best/biggest base tone from the amp first. Then have pedals match volume or just slightly louder than the amp.
@@coreycongilio thanks
Les Paul was BARKIN boy! Nice playing dude
haha thx!
Great playing ! 👍🎸
Thanks, Stu!
The cleanest player alive....Great pocket....Everything always is so tight when you play.....You could be playing something dirty like this? and its so clear.....
Hey! I appreciate that
Oooooh, that’s nasty!
The Bloomfield drive is one of the best amps out there Clean channel or drive channel? It's got a honking drive channel 6L6's ?? Thanks sounds great
yes, 6l6
Amazing!
J. Rockett makes good dirt pedals!!
Cool pedal!! Great lesson Corey🌶🌶cool strap too, brand please?
Not sure on the strap unfortunately
Corey, I know you talked about "driving" the Two Rock and this pedal was too much for the Blues Jr., which as you know, is what I have. but do you consider this J. Rockett El Hombre, strictly speaking, an overdrive? Or is it a distortion pedal?
I’d consider it an overdrive
I can hear Texas !
Some Nasty Dogs and Funky Kings 🎸
So Billy does nee such a pedal?
Or did he do everything without, hm?
Can’t go wrong with some reverend G !
👍🔥🔥great song rock
What kind of Gibson is that you playing?
Murphy Lab 59 LP
Oh yeah
Smoking!
wow you can do a lot with whole count 1234 then do a rip then 1234 rip I think I learned something tonight .
Billy in a coffin 159 can't decide
like eliminator pedal more.
billy uses a fuzz set mildly
Other guitars ?...pickup types ?... no ?
Great playing but it doesn’t have the meat of those early albums
