His "Blues at Sunrise" is the perfect live album. A true master!
Your lessons are presented in such a way that makes it perfect for studying. I really appreciate what you do, man! You’re one of my favorite players!
Yes Corey! Preach 🙌
Just broke the E string doing those bends and it felt real good thank you!
Albert King is my favorite blues guitarist.I had the opportunity to see him play in concert in 1990.He was great.
I bought three of Cory's guitar lessons on True Fire. They were a pivotal point in my guitar playing. I was so frustrated with blues rhythm lessons until I discovered them. Now we get these great RUclips videos for free. I'll definitely be purchasing more videos in the future and appreciate all of this free bonus content.
Love your channel Corey! I always learn so much about pedals or guitar licks, thanks for putting this out there
great great attack on relatively simple notes, phrasing is everything and yours is great.
I appreciate that you have chosen the position of instructor and you do your job very well. Thanks, Corey.
This three-string style is a great introduction to lead into other strings. Keep it simple!
Corey, your passion for guitar, knowledge of blues and amazing playing are truly inspiring. You make a person grab his guitar and practice. Thanks!!!
Ah that’s very kind. Thx!
I grew up with Live Wire Blues Power, one of my desert island ten for sure. Thank you Corey for this super visit with Albert!! More visits with this King would be great.
Will be doing more Albert for sure!
Great video as always Corey. Having a great time going through your past videos. So many gems! Thank you for your amazing content as always 🙏

Fantastic lesson Corey ! Great job.
Just came across these lessons, great teacher!! I've been playing 30 years and I love his down to earth style and passion for the blues! Hail to the King!!!
Wow, thanks!
Albert King! Amazing guitarist playing so much with so few notes .and to be so relevant. Thank you for diving so deep into his style. I've been able to play his licks w/o flowing. I think this is it!
Loved it and shared it!... Always top-notch info from you Corey... Thanks man...
Présentation extraordinaire du phasé sur 3 cordes; Bravo et grand merci .

My pleasure!
That tone is sweet. So cutting. Great lesson
Love this in the style of. A few good licks, some theory and history. And some great ideas.
Best lesson on Albert King! Makes so much sense now.
Thanks!
Wow someone who knows about music and makes it understandable. Thank you.
I really appreciate this stuff, more musical than flying around with the pentatonic scale
Spectacular tone Corey and of course your playing as well.
thx so much
I have enjoyed everyone of your presentations. I have learned so much from your channel that I decided jump right in and get your lessons on your website. Your love for the instrument is contagious.
Thx so much!!
THANK YOU FOR BEING SOO INTUITIVE
Great lesson thank for connecting things for me👍🏾🎸
I like everything about your lessons.
Excellent thanks 🙏🏾
Nailing that vibrato!!
thx my brotha!
Awesome! Thank you!
You bet!
Great stuff man. You get Albert!
Thx so much!
This is great because I have been playing left handed upside down for more than 50 years. This is a good way to explain phrasing, which in the blues, creates distinct styles and sounds in the individual player. I met Albert in Santa Cruz, Ca., back in the mid seventies, when he played at the Catalyst.
Wow that's awesome!
I purchased Lovejoy in 1971 and Albert has been my favorite since then.
Thanks for another great lesson Corey - much appreciated! I had the pleasure of producing a show with Albert King in Scotland in 1992. We had a good house and he played great, of course. Sadly he was to die just a few months later at only 69. RIP Albert.
A very well presented lesson that made perfect sense and was easy to follow.
Exceptionally interesting. Really appreciate the way you teach the lesson. Please do a lesson on the BB box.
Good lessons, natural teacher.
Thank you! 😃
These are some of the best instructional videos I've seen on RUclips, your TrueFire stuff is top notch too - really enjoying your trading solos course! Absolutely killer player too

Hey Corey Thanx for giving props to the great Albert King & his influence on another great...Stevie Ray
Very inspiring lesson Corey! This helps me to nail down some blues concepts that I have been lacking. Thanks
Great to hear!
Great stuff that vibrato is bang on
Love these videos man! It’s like putting on a pair of glasses after you’ve stumbled around most of your life! Keep it up Sensei!

Nailed it
Such a good lesson. Thanks!!!
Glad you liked it!
Great lesson.
Thx!
Thx a lot for this explanation 👍 really helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Corey, awesome lesson, thank you! The great Albert King is probably the most difficult style guitarist to teach. Lans Lopez can play with that feel very well.
thanks man, great
New Orleans Heat is one of my favorite albums.
always an amazing teacher.... thats the AK box ; )
Wtching this with a huge grin on my face! The Blues: you need it!
Awesome!
Great teacher, flows excellently! besides a great player, really really good teacher.
Wow, thanks!
His other killer bring it home lick is the descending g,d,c,b flat,g cut back to b flat back down to,g, dd his classic sort of turn around ending his i, iv, Mahor chord playing the mIII, then to dominant 7 on the 5th which is designated ss v7. Brilliant take on predictable blues making it Interesting and unpredictable. Great break from Boring all dominant 7 chords on the I , IV, V classic blues formula.
I definitely think this is one of the best channels on RUclips for guitar lessons.
Very tasty player.
So great thanks 🙏
You're welcome 😊
Wow this is the good stufff that someone at my level can and will use forever - thanks !
My pleasure!
Nothing but the blues...
So useful. Thanks!
My pleasure!
If you put a gun to my head, 'I'll Play The Blues For You' might just be my all-time favourite album. That's not favourite blues album, that's favourite album period.
Thumb up ....Regards from France
Love it
This is the Blues man.
Thanks Corey, I really appreciate your guitar intellect and willingness to break down a topic so this 64 y/o novice can enjoy my guitar, for once!
My pleasure! Happy to help and thanks for watching!

Wow, thanks so much!
I love Albert’s playing.
He took his influences, and heavily influenced the next several generations. Like SRV, Hendrix? They studied Albert.
👌🏽👍🏽 great video Corey buddy !
Thanks 👍
I just find you from papastache channel, and man you arw incredible. Greetings from argentina, i love the guutar players with feeling
thx so much!
I know a guy that can shred in major pentatonic (that's certainly not me), but he got of the podium after our performance and refused to jam along with us (songs like Texas Flood) bc he had no idea how to do it. It's amazing, the difference between musicians.
Hi! I'm Jon Wilsons's pal. I like your lesson a lot! Thanks. Subscribed.
If I may add a small tip, for Albert style help to pluck the E string while bending the 4th degree of the pentatonic to either the perfect 5th or the sharp 4th, using the ring finger on the right hand instead of use a pick . Great lesson !!!
I love the “Albert king box” but I ripped off Clapton, and play a lot of Albert King licks in the “Clapton box”. I am not ashamed or scared to hang in minor pentatonic or the “boomer scale” I love it, it always works and always pleasing to the listeners ear, rather they play or dont, if it sounds good it is good. When I figured out relative minor, and adding some chromatic tension, playing major and minor together mixing it all in its all sweet BBQ sauce for the soul man.. Great great lesson here. Really good look into “less is more” and phrasing and voicing, great first step into that style man. Really great job. I never took lessons, I wish I had, but kind of glad I didn’t, in a way.
Man that SG sounds great! There are couple of videos of Born Under A Bad Sign live and Albert uses these phrases on almost all the call and response with the vocal. Classic. Thanks for the lesson!
Loved this thank you Sir! How about some Peter Green?
Adoro jazz e fusion por influência do Jeff Beck dos anos 70, mas quando pego a guitarra mesmo quando tento soar jazz saí Blues! Parece vício!
Great lesson! It would be nice if you explain how to combine a minor and major scales in one solo in another video! :) Thank you in advance!
coreycongilio Thank you, Corey! Could you please say more about course where you explain this topic? Two weeks ago I started with “Solo Factory Texas Blues”. It’s a real breakthrough for me! And I planned go with “Hip Blues” next. But if you have some courses where you explain how to combine a minor and major scales, I will purchase it right now! Thank you!
@@coreycongilio Thank you!
Play through some D-Tuning man!!!! I love standard too!!!! Love it all!!!!
