I would love to see some more balsa stuff. Not a ton of videos out there and you all do such a great job!
Music volume was a little too high :)
Hi Flite Test loving your channel and humour. Always a great time watching show.
I was honestly surprised when the covering across leading edge was being excised, to see no balsa panel curved across and protecting/ reinforcing leading edge.
Excellent info-video!!! Thanks for sharing!!
man i just put a hole in my new plane havent put it all together yet ! you guys are doing a great job keep it up
Music too loud or my speakers rock !. ?...in the wrong way. :(
More balsa videos, please.
Music background makes it hard to understand. Noone comes here to hear music.
Like your videos really educational was wondering if you could do a video on fabric covering and rc airplane
As usuall, excellent videos! But may you PLEASE lower the volume of the drum loop on your videos it is really too loud. And may you please tell me which cameras you're using for filming your videos? Many thanks!
Great tips.
Nice job, guys! :)
You guys should definately do some videos detailing your camera/ studio setup. I am sure that it would make many people happy!
what kind using the camera?
The picture quality is really good.
Where can I get a good balsa kit now? I dont se manny good one's online anymore
bubbles haha... i have found the best way to double over covering and not have any bubbles is to take a T-pin and poke a bunch of pin holes onto the first layer of fresh covering, so when you add your second layer (or) color with your iron... it will be bubble free. wich saves time and looks like it was done from the factory...
what should the heat knob on the heat iron be when repairing plane film?
ah yes the golden age of flitetest videos
Very good video. don't need the music bit off putting when trying too listen too what you are saying.
Not me.
what a kind using the camera?
The picture quality is really good.
thanks, nice tune btw.
Hi flitetest, i have a small hole in my irvine tutor 2 wing, its balsa and has the film on it, i dont have any of that film spare to patch it up, Anything else i could use?the hole is about 2" by 2" max, i hope to hear back from you thanks :)
can you tell me whats the correct yellow number for this pitts from hobbyking? what kote did you use? maybe this cyan yellow 105 from hobbyking ?
I tried to watch this, but couldn't understand your words because of the music. I will look elsewhere for this info.
Thanks for teaching us. You guys are RUclips's best for RC everything. For the next tip, how about shopwing us how to use fiberglass cloth for repairs?
yes sir!
lol Josh's reaction to shrinkage!
If I had a part for every person named josh in your channel then I would have a complete plane lol
is the film the same as monokote
Can I use this "flim" on foam???
Do you need the music??
Repair
Boeing Airbus composite overlap is 1/2". Covering Film looks to be 1/4". Color packing tape is better faster stronger with the new adhesives by 3M or Scott lots stronger. Larger areas where shrinkage is desired to remove a fowl up in packing tap pull then covering film repair.
Clean
Boeing Airbus composite clean is polar clean nonpolar clean meaning water based clean the solent clean. Past was water based and MEK but MEK is iffegal in the states IPA or Acetone or any good solvent work
Thats nice but what sort or iron are you using, and were can you buy one ?.
Its about $20 on Hobbiking
AustinPetDetective any hobby store that sells rc planes
rippin' and tearin'
hello, the videos are very good, but I come to ask that include subtitles in Portuguese for Brazil, Brazilians would appreciate. (Closed Caption in Portuguese)
I can never use the heat gun without it burning the covering shrinking to much or messing up the covering around the patch \....please help meee!!!1
RC MADNESS just try holding the heat gun feather away from your work, and wiggle her hand alittle faster...
+RC MADNESS if you look at about 7:45 he talks about that
what is the real job of Josh Bixler? Does anyone Knows?
nicee jobb but we r still waiting for those LA videos
Where can I get one of those irons and the new covering film?
Both are avaliable on HobbyKing www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?cwhl=XX&idCategory=245&v=&sortlist=P&LiPoConfig=&CatSortOrder=desc
BacodiRC never mind, sorry. I already found it. I should do my own research in the future. Thanks for the advice, though!
Nick C. any rc model hobby store has what you are looking for...
Great tips! Very hard to understand you though, back ground music is way too loud!!!
@freeflymonkey hey man u dont need to be so mean. these guys are awesome and they're trying to help poeple like u and me. but ur right about the charlie sheen thing
Flight test has been around a long time
I just subscribed and there a new video uploaded 40 minutes ago
what temp do you use????
Michael Weir keep your iron just under setting 3. 3 and above will melt or burn your covering
I could do without the music
@desidudes78 these guys are awesome -- i was just wondering about his finger. looked painful. the videos are hilarious and educating. i watch them all the time. not trying to make fun of him but sheesh... looks gnarly.
HA! He said shrinkage!
needs less volume on the music and more on the talking
Yes please
Voudrait mieux voir l aile à réparer que leurs tronches constament
Josh: you never want to get a wrinkles on top of a wrinkles
otherwise you gets?
Josh: 2 old people
LMAOOOOOOOOOO Josh u son of a b**ch u cracked me up
GET RID OF THE BACKGROUND 'MUSIC' IT MADE THIS UNWATCHABLE TO ME
@BunnyHairedKid nm
I couldn’t make it thru the whole video with that horrible drumming going on in the background while I’m trying to hear these guys talk.
get some clear packing tape and slap it on... DONE
Good content, but Lordy! I wish you guys would cut the "music" volume by at least half! (Totally absent would be even better.) Overriding, distracting, downright irritating, & totally unnecessary.
wrinkle on wrinkle, you will get 2 old people :D
MuuuuuuuuuuuuuuZZaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaK NOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo
Painter.

first
No matter how many years pass Josh always pretends to be a noob... ?
Turn off that stupid drumming off so we can hear the lads.
This is instructional video and not a movie with movie stars... you showing yourself snd your faces but hardly any instructions. Also talking about too much howbit happen... well who cares. We want to see how to repair it.... thumbs fown for that.
