How to Cover a Plane

  • Whether you have covering that is getting worn or you had a rough landing and scratched a wing tip, knowing how to apply covering is a valuable skill. Covering a plane or replacing a section of covering can be easy and stress-free when you know a few tips and general concepts.
    A few things you will need before getting started.
    1.) Heat Gun
    2.) Protective Gloves
    3.) Adjustable Heat Iron
    4.) Soldering Iron with Detail tip
    5.) Tape
    6.) Hobby Knife

    Best explanation I've seen so far and I've been covering RC planes since 1980 ! I started out with a house iron on my first few covering jobs and just had to teach myself how to make it work!
