I’m always amazed at the variety of disciplines of engineering you are tasked to deal with. You have to be what we call in English “A Jack of all trades,” meaning someone who is proficient in many, many tasks. I get where they are all tied to electricity as a power source but you have a good knowledge of pumps, fluids, and such. Of course, troubleshooting is troubleshooting, but it’s obvious you studied a lot of different manuals.
thank you for your wonderful comment. this means a lot to me. I appreciate your support.
This indeed a very big aspect in the job of an electro Technical Officer onboard the ship.. he has to know all the details and the working principles of each machinery because he has to find the reason for the problem... its not only wires that a marine electrical engineer needs to know... he also is proficient in pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical engg to be good in what he does..!! Electro Technical Officers need more recognition and appreciation... keep up the good work...!
@@leckyjake what did you study in school to get so good at everything you do? Currently a student going for my hvacr license and what to be as knowledgeable as you.
Nice work dear.. Rgds From San Antonio, Chile.
If there is no spare solenoid coil available on board, in emergency it is possible to use the coil from hot gas valve. It is very easy to shift from hot gas valve to expansion valve, and also need to shift positive wire on the controller from output signal of hot gas valve to expansion valve terminal. In this case when the unit is in defrost mode only electrical heaters will melt the ice on evaporator coil. This will not affect so much to the operation of the unit.
Replacing veco with vexp or vhg The problem will stay the same, with more ice on the compressor, the compressor will stay running without stopping even if the unit reach in range state, the suction pressure will drop more and supply temperature will defer more than the return
SIr, Thank you for always making a videos about different troubleshooting in ship vessel. As an electrical engineer dreaming about to have work in ship vessel without any experience in ship vessel your all videos will help me a lot to overview what are the kinds of troubleshooting. I hope you shout out me to your next videos.
Robert Rick Alvizo from Cebu City, Philippines. Thank you and keep safe.
I am interesting the technical knowledge,I like learn more because the field is my employment.pls.send next lessons of video sir,Thank you
Great video, I’m going to join the ship as an eto cadet and I’m watching every your video with the studying goal, thank you✊you are doing great job
Mahina talaga ako sa star cool, thanks for new knowledge sir👍👍👍
thank you for watching. i hope it can help you in a little way
Your videos are too helpful sir. Will definitely help me when I go on board after some months as Trainee ETO.
thank you for your support
How is it bro
Thank you for explanation of the technical trouble. I respect you A Technical Guy With good Heart.
Mabuhay ka leckyjake. Thank you for always sharing your ETO knowledge.
Hi, Jake! During investigation It's also usefull to feel by hand the EEV and to hear it in clicking mode ( corresponding 24VDC on terminals in puls mode). Best regards and good luck!

They will never have it. Actually ETO in many companies is treated as a junior officer, but he/she needs to know almost everything. That is why I hate this job already after 15 years at sea and do not want to continue to work on reefer vessels. Even if you have no problems with a ship, everyday you have to check reefers, doesn't matter Sunday, Monday...container vessels are now the most shitty vessels to work on.
@@shyster717 which is better, bulk tanker gas etc..? Or Cruise
@@bt9604 Better in what way? What do You mean?
@@shyster717 interms of work, work pressure, safety, environment etc..
excellent video. I like your teaching. greetings from Mexico
Low suction pressure:
1. Out of freon
2.expansion valve body faulty
3.expansion valve coil faulty
4.blockage in the refrigerant system eg. Filter drier etc
5.suction pressure transducer faulty
❤️ thanks bro
Do u have any more notes regarding reefer troubles
Nice video and good explanation as usual my friend
thank you for your support
Thank you for this invaluable video Sir. I look forward to your new videos. Greetings from Turkey.
Hi Jake! Thank you so much for your videos, you help me a lot!! Thank you Sr!!
great video. I am a reefer tech on land and enjoy watching and learning tricks. I was checking your reefers for our pretrip stickers but didn't see any. lol.
Yea, I noticed the same thing too. Those unit which have passed the Full PTI test will not malfunction like this in often times. By the way, I'm a junior reefer tech.
@@poopathyraaja9949 how's the salary, which country u r working

Great video thanks a lot for all these informations 🛠️
Good morning sir thank you for your information
Great video sir, it helped me a lot. I am hvac tech. And i want to experience in reefer container also.
real information keep it up parey
Good 👍 staff 👏
thanks
Great vedios,Thank you.👏👏
This is very helpful. Great video!
😂 nice troubleshooting with the screwdriver you learned by technician good job
The economizer not all time be active that will depend of the set point Sr
you are an interesting person ,
Great explained...
bro I have followed u. good exp.
Very smart. I hope you’re paid no less than 120,000USD/year (and I make 1/4th of that)
Great job mate
👍👍👍
More video sir . Khit theory po ng ibat ibang klaseng reefer. Usually ung nagyeyelo. Anu po posible na sira nun.? God bless
thank you and will keep that on the list
thank you sir
thank you for watching
Thank you so much
sir pwede mag ask. ilang hours moba na tumbok na iyon ang problema :D galing mo kasi sir
❤🎉
Economizer is to cool compressor?
nope it is to improve the cooling capacity, act as heat exchanger for the high side and the cooling of the compressor is the least.
Hi really love your videos. Sir i have a small question . Do they use paint or Coating on refrigerated shipping containers?
Hi my friend Leckyjake, I'm speaking from Brazil, I'm trying to find out about the Alj281 from the Daikin container.. Other than the SMV valve, the SMV coil, and the solenoid coils, what else can cause this alarm?
Good night! Can I turn on this frequency converter without the control? And what would it look like? Thank you very much
Just subscribed! You in San Francisco?
Great video! 👍
1. Are ships responsible for the operation of all refrigerated containers?
2. What if you can't get to a container, eg, buried in hold or 10 units high?
3. There must be hundreds of different types of refrigerator unit / controls, do you keep diagrams and spare for all?
4. What if you can't fix it or not correct spare available?
Yes ETO are expected to work on the 4 major types of reefer containers, there is a way to access every container on the vessel. They have all the diagrams and spare parts. They also have lots of spares but if for some reason they dont the reefer has emergency operating modes along with emergency repair directions, such as bypassing systems.
@@Tech-NO-City Not everything you can bypass. Especially leak from the evaporator area inside.
REST IN PARADISE MASTER LEK 😢
How are the containers monitored? Is it ethernet?
Sir what exactly the name of permanent magnet tester of solenoid valve? or where can I buy that thing? btw I'm in Philippines.
How to reset alarm 52
What happens if you use the wrong refrigerant? How do you fix it?
Hope that you used a refrigerant compatible with the existing oil. Recover wrong gas and preform triple evacuation. Charge with correct refrigerant.
Man, what routes are you sailing...? South Africa and Europe trade...1600-1700 reefers each voyage, everyday manually recorded temperatures...South America - Europe 1500 reefers average...no time to record any video...I'm also Maersk.
i have sailed on those routes, L class. ppecb and everyday we have 30-70 reefer troubles
Very good job and information
