Obviously, because there's no need to program in npcs in a classic sonic title. But think about it. This Planet has cities. Cities. Where people live. But nobody lives there. @@hanezutchins2786 really there are a lot of city themed levels in what otherwise are extremely isolated places like starlight zone at south island (shifts locations on random, doubt it would be inhabited by anything other than critters and animals, because of how tough it is to even locate lol) you could make a case that all remnants of civilization at little planet were actually built entirely by eggman, since he was messing with time and sent his breathen to colonize this world all the way back in prehistoric time, but like, what does that make of the wacky workbench angel statue? tidal tempest? or even stardust speedway, all of the strucutres there look anicent, not something that would be built by the doctor's prepetually expanding automatons clearly there mustve been someone else to create these monuments and buildings, but as far as we know, we havent seen anyone to inhabit little planet besides the wild critters that eggman tried to scare off with metal sonic i think its fun to ramble about such details, but in the end of the day most rounds in CD are supposed to mirror zones in sonic 1, thats why you have cities, plants, and casinos on a barren piece of rock in space

One of my favorite Past themes.. Love the echo piano, and the area itself is quite romantic. This theme somewhat reminds me of "Rose Rouge" from artist Saint Germain, a classic Acid Jazz tune.

the past made me cry simply because of how desolate it is. I even reminisce about it whenever I go through a huge forest at night.
