He knows that flirting is a stupid way to attract women that might scare women and think that the simp is a creep instead of loving the simp himself. He also knows that personality is the best trait that could attract women and because of this, Eileen loves him. Rigby only broke up with her once and returned back to be her boyfriend until they became a married couple with their kids in the end of the show. That’s why Benson was only uncomfortable around Mordecai and not Rigby. He knows Mordecai and Rigby well.
Meanwhile Rigby had a whole character arc where he goes back to high school and gets his diploma, all the while maturing as a person and being in a healthy and committed relationship with Eileen without making a big deal out of it.

You forgot the part where Mordecai gets sucked into the creep dimension where he's either put on trial for being creepy as hell, or he's surrounded by creeps who got in there for similar reasons and Rigby has to bust him out Edit: MOM. MOM, I'M FAMOUS NOW
The fact that this isn’t that far off from how Mordecai behaves in the show is hilarious. I also love how Benson is horrified and concerned juxtaposed by Rigby just being desensitized and numb as he’s had to deal with this on a daily basis
And then the chair comes to life and reports the crime to the chair gods who look to punish Mordecai in gladiatorial games, but they get out of it because of the Weezer dvd at the start of the episode Mordecai then learns a lesson on simping, then goes right back to simping the next episode
To be fair, this is more indicative of the middle of the series, not the later seasons, basically Mordecai goes creepy SIMP and then ends up losing both girls he was in a triangle with, then the later seasons get really meta and then they go to space and introduce a bunch of new characters that really kinda felt weak.
Well, I've heard that CN apparently forced them to rush and end the show as quick as they could, so that's why they did all that and just went to space.
Rigbys face is people who watch regular show who think “not this damn episode trope AGAIN” And the face of concern and fear on benson is the face of someone who is completely new to regular show
I do love how the show was "darker/edgier" in the beginning the first season and the second definitely have the most curses, sexual innuendos, it comes out a little more with restraint in close enough, but this show could get twisted sometimes.
The novelty of the concept was fantastic in S1. They really came out strong with "Power" right out the gate, and no two episodes ever felt like the same twist twice, beyond "ordinary situation becomes extraordinary" as the basis.
@@sleepywayy I hear what you're saying, but I'm primarily referring to the darkness the characters go through. Mordecai murders Rigby. Whenever Mordecai is depressed heartbroken, whining, complaining. Breaking up with friends and Girlfriends. Bullying to a high degree. One cheek wonder. Skips punches Rigby to death. Rigby's body gets mangled by the cart. Skips loses his immortality and is dying in front of them. Skips reason for his name. Rigby's hateful relationship with his brother. Mordecai crippling insecurities. Muscle Man unchecked rage and anger that can go off at any time. Not to mention how Benson literally screams in their face and threatens them on a regular basis. The list goes on. Just as an example of course. Yes close enough does cuss. However as for the 3 seasons so far out, I have yet to see them tackle anything on a similar level of severity, besides Bridgette and Alex's marriage. Candice not doing well at school. Bridgette making out with a 2 year old. Some of these things are somewhat dark, however the delivery is far less consequential in comparison.
as a regular show fan i can confirm that this is literally Mordecai every episode, and that Rigby would be my reaction, and that Benson would be my parents walking in on me watching this
I bet this episode's later scenes would be Skips telling him he needs to destroy the Weezer CD so nobody grabs it and then gets cursed Then they'd have to just crack the CD, which just somehow gives them a hallucination, or transported to another dimension where there's humanoid creatures with a Weezer album as their body And then I guess they either smash those albums or race them to get a orb to travel back to the real world or that the albums are actually infected humans, who grabbed a Weezer CD and got cursed to stay in the dimension, so Mordecai has to help the albums escape their dimension so they can return back to their human forms before he turns into an album too. Then, all of the album guys are now back into their human form but they all just went confused because they were transported to the park, out of the CD.
@@Brain_pocketer that doesn’t offset all the awesome stuff that happened though Like when they went to space or when they (on multiple occasions), turned into that giant robot with the baby ducks, or all the Halloween specials! Coz you have to write about something. And when you have some restrictions - coz its show on CN , being lazy and just reuse the same plot points is very very easy.
Then a seat interdimensional demon pops up, and skips goes "ive seen this before" And tells Mordecai he has to stop sniffing where margerot sits, which he eventually agrees to, getting rid of the demon. Then benson goes "the two of you clean this mess up NOW"
It's about the only obvious part of the show where JG was trying to work through his past screwups in love. And since he couldn't let it go we had to watch him work through every little thing that ever went wrong. You think his wife would have been concerned.
Mordecai is the worst part of the show and yeah is obviously JG's self-insert I liked the first season but when it basically became a relationship drama I was not interested
@@bluegum6438 I totally agree. I got into Regular Show because it was silly slice of life shenanigans with moments where the world just decided, "TOO SLOW, ADHD IS KICKING IN." And just dropped mind bending insanity on the plot. Sometimes I felt like the sudden insanity killed the rhythm of the plot, like the White Elephant is a really solid episode even if they take like a 2 minute break from it to be summoned to the Realm of the White Elephant to discuss that stacking the game wasn't right. But they go through with it anyway because MuscleMan had it coming. Plus we needed to know what Benson spent $500 on.
*Muscle Man walks in* Mitch - “Oh! There’s my lucky feather! I keep it in my back pocket for safe keeping…. What are you ladies doing?” Mordecai - “😮……….” Rigby - “Hmm-Hmm-Hmm-Hmm. 😈”
in typical regular show fashion mordecai will have to throw the chair into the depths of the underworld or else Rigby will turn into a sofa forever and have to deal with everyone sitting on him
When I was a kid I kept being like “JUST GET TOGETHER ALREADY SO WE CAN CONTINUE WITH THE WEIRD SHIT *WITH* YOUR RELATIONSHIP BLOSSOMING!” Then Cj came, then they treated her like trash, and finally he ended up with a nameless bat-lady… man. Someone could make a mini-series that introduces how they met, making her have a genuinely cool and attractive personality (having flaws that contrast Mordecai’s, and having their relationship be about how they call each other out, and yet still grow- MORDECAI ESPECIALLY HOLY SHIT) and has a bunch of classic-styled Regular Show insanity while making this relationship work, and blossom to them having kids… I don’t know, could be cool…
to be fair, CJ was a bad person also. it wouldn’t make sense for them to get together in the end. pretty sure it was by design. CJ was always jumping to conclusions over small things, and Margaret was somewhat manipulative (later in the series). Mordecai rejecting both in the end fit with the whole theme that they grew up and matured, since he had failed to see their character flaws throughout the show by constantly simping for both.
Guess I gotta rewatch the show to see what you mean, but can you elaborate on how both of them were kind of bad people? I can see what you mean with CJ ("oh you GLANCED at Margeret? Merget exists within a 10 mile radius within you? Ok then D I E") but how was Marg manipulative
Hilarious if the show was an adult cartoon, this scene would've been a real scene. And the look on Rigby's face, he's been seeing Mordecai do this crap whenever Margaret visits and Benson just seeing this for the first time makes him look so worried and concerned about Mordecai.
I really like this artstyle, it does make Regular Show look more cartoony but I kinda like that about it cause after a while everything in Regular show kinda starts to look the same so yea this art rocks
Rigby's reaction implies that he's seen Mordechai do this more than once, I guess after the sweater incident he's just fed up with Mordechai's simp shit
As a person who always binge watches the entire series I can agree the plot of the later seasons were pretty much about Mordecai being depressed about Margaret
this animation speaks for itself on how bad regular show handled mordecai in later seasons. i liked him in earlier ones as he was kind of like the older brother to rigby, keeping them out of trouble while rigby caused problems most of the time. now it's just mordecai's horrible love life and cj being heartbroken :(
Didn’t really handle him badly in my opinion, just showed that the dynamic in Mordecai and Rigbys relationship changed and so it was even easier for all of mordecais flaws to be put on display. Haven’t finished the last season but honestly he’s still fine not a bad character at all. And the simp stuff is like for season 1-3 maybe 4 too? I can’t remember exactly but like that’s all brought up in the show too… kinda annoying how that’s all people talk about in the show and not the development
@@pokemaster1478 the development was a small part of the show. just a few episodes, but the simp garbage was like 4 seasons, people are right in hating this hot garbage

@@pokemaster1478 Exactly. Personally, I loved Mordecais development arc. Because he's learning. And that's the entire point of this show. Whether you have a job or you're just watching the show. To be fair, while I do enjoy complex episodes I still do find the older seasons more enjoyable just for them to fuck up lol.
And then somehow this leads to them opening a world-destroying portal where the only way to close it is by Mordecai admitting he’s a simp.

@@yapyapthedestroyer2562 While Mordecai is smarter than Rigby, Rigby doesn’t rely on flirting like Mordecai does.
@@mohammedahmmed9827 true. Mordecai was a simp in the beginning.

Mordecai then learns a lesson on simping, then goes right back to simping the next episode

Seasons 7-8 Felt like Star wars A little bit
Rigby's just standing there like he's seen it so many times he's past feeling anything.
Rigbys face is people who watch regular show who think “not this damn episode trope AGAIN”
And the face of concern and fear on benson is the face of someone who is completely new to regular show
Rigby/Fans: Don't bother with the reaction, this is pretty typical.
Benson/Newbies: He does this OFTEN?!
I do love how the show was "darker/edgier" in the beginning the first season and the second definitely have the most curses, sexual innuendos, it comes out a little more with restraint in close enough, but this show could get twisted sometimes.
This show and adventure time were the last good things on CN 😂
The novelty of the concept was fantastic in S1. They really came out strong with "Power" right out the gate, and no two episodes ever felt like the same twist twice, beyond "ordinary situation becomes extraordinary" as the basis.
bro close enough is darker than regular show especially since they actually cuss
@@O2blue66 You sure about that?

as a regular show fan i can confirm that this is literally Mordecai every episode, and that Rigby would be my reaction, and that Benson would be my parents walking in on me watching this
Nothing good ever happens after someone says "Hope you like Weezer"
~ Said skips probably
I bet this episode's later scenes would be Skips telling him he needs to destroy the Weezer CD so nobody grabs it and then gets cursed
Then they'd have to just crack the CD, which just somehow gives them a hallucination, or transported to another dimension where there's humanoid creatures with a Weezer album as their body
And then I guess they either smash those albums or race them to get a orb to travel back to the real world or that the albums are actually infected humans, who grabbed a Weezer CD and got cursed to stay in the dimension, so Mordecai has to help the albums escape their dimension so they can return back to their human forms before he turns into an album too.
Then, all of the album guys are now back into their human form but they all just went confused because they were transported to the park, out of the CD.
i love how absolutely well made this is. it feels like a regular show recap from 2042.
Rigby: "You want it?"

It's about the only obvious part of the show where JG was trying to work through his past screwups in love. And since he couldn't let it go we had to watch him work through every little thing that ever went wrong. You think his wife would have been concerned.

Rigby and Benson's expressions are comedy gold.
Benson: *concerned*

Adventure Time also got that problem in the middle of its run except Finn wanted to date every princess like a gold digger with ADD
The virgin Mordecai vs The CHAD Rigbone
At least in relationship terms...

Mordecai dodged a bullet for not staying with cj and margaret, they suck.

Rigby's reaction implies that he's seen Mordechai do this more than once, I guess after the sweater incident he's just fed up with Mordechai's simp shit
As a person who always binge watches the entire series I can agree the plot of the later seasons were pretty much about Mordecai being depressed about Margaret
this animation speaks for itself on how bad regular show handled mordecai in later seasons. i liked him in earlier ones as he was kind of like the older brother to rigby, keeping them out of trouble while rigby caused problems most of the time. now it's just mordecai's horrible love life and cj being heartbroken :(
Rigby has a good redemption arc and he kept his nose clean with his relationship.
