The first time I played slime rancher (not long ago), it was certainly an experience. I remember causing a stock market crash on numerous occasions. It was awesome.
I have to admit I giggled a little when you said "I haven't read any of the slimepedia, it seems the game doesn't hide its mechanics so I'd rather learn by playing. I like it more this way. So my farm was very efficient but I never felt rich, probably because I had no idea how the plort market works." 😂 It makes sense and I don't disagree, the timing just made it a bit funny for me.
I'm playing the second game with my 4 year old. She learns to count her slimes, remember their color for what they do and eat and dynamic cost benefit analysis based on market fluctuations within acceptable thresholds.
This is Slime Rancher... ...if you ignore the single vital source of information covering the entire ranch... ...and never bother interacting with the systems added by starmail. A bit more frustration than usual, but as you've seen, it remains fun even without these important elements.
If you want to keep playing, here are some tips: - try to buy as many upgrades por yourself as you can. (like the jetpack) - try to buy as many upgrades for the corrals as well, like air nets and music boxes to calm the slimes down - don't fill the corrals with more than about 15 slimes (if they are largos) - you can't catch gold slimes, you need to hit them in the moment with any kind of food so they can give you a plort. - the indigo quarry area has another type of slime you haven't found yet in the caves. - finally, it's useful to understand the food resources: The food resources are divided into vegetables, fruits and meat (chickens). Slimes have diets that are divided respectively into each group. The rock slime eats veggies, the tabby slime eats meat (chickens), and the phosphor slime eats fruits. While the pink slimes eat ANYTHING. when you find new slimes, they will also be divided into each diet. When slimes become largos, they gain both diets. It's also useful to learn each slime's own "favorite food". When they eat their favorite food, they make twice the amount of plorts. That's why it's useful to collect every type of food. Pink slimes don't have a favorite food. The rock slimes' favorite food is the heart beet, the tabby's is stony hens, the phosphors' is the cuberry, the boom's is the briar hen, the rad's is the oca oca, the honey's is the mint mango, and puddle slimes just eat water. When a largo eats one of their favorite foods, they actually give 4 plorts, 2 of each type. The same happens with gordos, you need to feed them with their respective diet and they get full faster if you feed them with their favorite food. You can read more in the slimepedia, I recommend you to read in "slimes" and "resources".
Slime rancher actually has a shit ton of interesting secrets in it's world and the slimepedia stores some interesting lore and world building which i would recommend checking as well as reading through mail. Though as you said you didn't like reading in games, I guess that side is not for you but you're really missing out on it.
It‘s a beauty seeing the innocence of him putting a chicken coop right next to a, not in any way upgraded, slime habitat that‘s stuffed with hungry pink slimes. 😆 Slime rancher is so friggin cute, i LOVED it and am really excited to see what the did with the second part when it finally comes out 🥰
While both the moss blanket and indigo quarry have boom and puddle slimes, it's notable that each has two unique ones. One easy to find, and one slightly more reclusive. The former, of course, being the respective honey and rad slices. So there's more there, and then, as mentioned by others, the door to the ruins is an interesting thing to come across, as is what lies beyond. Even if you dislike the farming of Slime Rancher, it's a fun game to explore the map of.
As someone who has played through the entire game multiple times, I was in physical pain watching you not have any idea how anything works. THE SLIMES DON'T EAT EACH OTHER
Slime Rancher 2 is decent but the OG is my favorite still and the potential for chaos and science experiments are limitless. There are two kinds of slime players: those who protect the chickens at all costs, and those who ruthlessly sacrifice them
In Slime Rancher 1, I didn't use the chickens at all, besides for the gordos that required them. In Slime Rancher 2, I threw a bunch in the fabricator area and ended up with a chicken uprising (as the patch notes called it). Haven't actually used those chickens, but I have them in case I do.
I also prefer the gardening aspect of the game so I use chickens for whats necessary, and to have in back pocket but id rather just have largos combined with veggie/fruit eaters so i dont have to worry about the chickens altogether. I always keep some around cuz theyre cute, but at that point its decoration.
As someone who’s played not only this game multiple times but is also one her first run of game two, watching you play for the first time was half historical laughter half pain. I loved this video! I remember when I first played I was terrified of the tarr.
Fun fact! Puddle Slimes have the important lore and ingame mechanic of being _shy_ They get uncomfortable and nervous when near more than 3 slimes. So 4 is a good amount of have in one Pond. And if you add anymore they become shy and blush. While they are in this state they no longer produce plorts.
I've just started playing Slime Rancher and it has been SO CHARMING AND FUN AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! I'm really glad this game got a lot of love because it really deserves it!!!
I'm the same with not usually enjoying farming type games as much, but i have to say Slime Rancher's timed mode is a lot of fun! It's super fast paced with needing to complete the trading things in order to earn more time - i find it hard to unlock most places & things in the time limit, so there's quite a bit of replayability, and its fun to have to rush around so much juggling earning money (your score) and extra time
I love slime rancher, it's a shame you stopped when you did. The game was about to open up more but overall I understand getting burned out on it. I'm glad you tried it
YES! Slime rancher is my favorite game tbh I know way more than I probably should It was very fun to see someone play this for the first time since i have been playing since before the glass desert even existed😅
I loved this game!! It hold together my childhood and I'm still waiting on updates for the 2nd Game. I NEED more Slime Rancher content. The hunger is never met!
Throarbin, I am absolutely begging you to do an Undertale genocide route. It's pretty much the only thing you have left to do, and it's a much different and spooky experience
I remember my first late game tar invasion it was at the lab where I had pink rock largos and crystal rad largos sitting right next to each other then I accidentally kicked a rad plot in the wrong corral
Wow, I first played it when it was half way through beta, now I play the first and second game religiously, been playing the second one since it entered early access, second fav game series ever, glad to see some one play it. But, watching him be so confused is kinda painful lmao
The plort market is a mix of random and what you do. I think there are like 2 or 3 RNG values and one value determined by the ammount you sold in the last some time and it calculates the price.
I think slime Rancher 2 improves on a lot of things and the graphics are more beatiful and vibrant. It's still in early access and has a lot of potential. But the weather, the snow zone and the Building is already pretty cool for a slime vacuum simulater.
Cool video. When I play for first time I read everything in slimepedia as soon I unlock it. (Also, it would be cool if you played one of my favorite games, Just Shapes and Beats)
Slime Rancher is a really great game and It was fun seeing someone play it for the first time! I think Slime Rancher 1 & 2 are both great, but SR2 is better in my opinion. It'd be awesome to see you play it when it comes out!
Interesting how you thought that expanding the farm would give you more slime types, when you always collected slimes in the wild, but I guess you figured it out.
I don't ever see you streaming anymore! It was one of the things I looked forward to on Mondays, what happened? Are you streaming on a different platform now?
I am not. This is the second of two channels I have and the videos here are performing terribly and the ones on the main one started struggling, plus life happens and I have less time on my hands so I've had to turn my focus to just the main channel and hopefully will be able to do something here sometime again but am not sure. I still often stream at the same time on the main channel called Throarbin if you enjoy Terraria.
You should play satisfactory, it released it's 1.0 this week and it's a very different kind of fun, it might look and sound awful (logistics game), but there is a high likely that you will like it.
I don't know if you have tried dying light 1 and the dlc for it called the following but I loved it and i even preorder the game and tried the beta. Maybe you would be interested in playing the new dying light game that can be wishlisted on steam which is dying light the beast. I only played on Xbox but I hope you know there are alot of good weapons and materials and blueprints and gun's in the game. I recommend getting someone to drop you items for just one save so you can see and explore the game with things you would normally not have. You can create a second save that has nothing. But at least you can get a grasp on the game with the first save and with someone who has experience with the game. There are glitched/modded weapons but im not talking about them personally. Also I'm not a fan of dying light 2, play at your own risk.
I commented some suggestions on your recent Subnautica video and I thought of a few more games! Dredge (mildly) relaxing fishing game. FNAF (good for views, questionable fans LOL) I love Dredge - super fun game. If you’re interested I would totally gift it to you! I think it would be neat to see you play No Man’s Sky, however it’s one most people who play games get confused due to how much there is so it may not be great for a while

Yea It was!

I… didn’t know that was possible lol
Here is a tip, the chickens only make babies if you put a rooster with them
@@salima990 That… makes sense. Wish I knew it sooner. Thank you!

THE SLIMES DON'T EAT EACH OTHER
They eat each others poop instead. Much more humane.
@@kindagamer525 I didn’t say slimes eating each other was inhumane. I just said It’s not how it works.

Yeah I also felt some pain but after watching blitz when he started playing slime rancher I'm basically immune
same- i have like around 20 save files, started a new one today and already have the glass desert.

@FireStorm5713 there was once in SR2 where I had around 300-500 chickens in my corals. I had to delete my save because of the lag 😂
I didn't even use chickens. Too much of a hassle, I'd rather just make the carnivorous slimes hybrid with the veggies eating or fruit eating ones.
