This anime would have ended in just one season if Yume and Mizuto were honest with their feelings, although they make a nice couple, fate brought them together again, as step-siblings.

This happens apparently. I remember reading a post about a couples parents that meet up, fell in love and got married which then made the couple step siblings.
I don't know the legal or ethical rules on this but I'm sure it's awkward.
Edit: I'm not saying it's wrong. I just thought it would be a little awkward to think about at first. I wouldn't know though because I've always been single.
It's kinda weird, But I can tell you by experience It's really not that bad or complicated. My cousin had a boyfriend since High school, and they getted along so Well with the family that they were brough to any family gathering like a part of us. My auntie and his dad catched feelings, and started dating and proposed.. We always joked about them being now step-bros, but honestly, other than the formalities, neither them or anyone treated that relationship weirdly besides like, their friends, cuz they were dating since forever and it Just doesn't matter
