That happens more often than people would think. Not even counting the fact every person on the planet descends from around 10,000 people. LMAO my parents divorced when I was very young and I have two half siblings (sisters) I've never met. When I was young I was terrified I would run into them at a party without knowing who they were.

@@GrimReaping well looking at genes we know that around 10-15 000 years ago something happened. We have no clue what that something was but humans were nearly wiped out. So everyone on earth is literally descended from the 10 000(give or take) people that survived whatever that event was
Too many holes in the plot. For one thing, dead bodies don't start to smell immediately. Unless it's a really hot environment, it takes awhile. It could be days. That's a city-person mistake. It bothers me that they keep going on about how it's weird that their name is Kira despite not being Japanese. I had a friend called Kira back in the 90s who definitely wasn't Japanese. In fact the name is pretty common in Europe and India, not just Japan. It has roots in Hindi, Hebrew and Russian, as well as possibly Greek and Irish.

How long was this out if the dead dog began to smell? A week? I thought it was the same day.
Right??
Yeah it doesn't make any sense. Also, what kind of serial killer just keeps bodies laying around their house? It's implied she did it previously, too. Like that's not at all the behavior of someone who gets away with multiple homicides. Tbh, I don't usually say this, but there're kind of a lot of plot holes/issues with this story in general.
@@vanessaashford9203 I lived in a rural area for a while so dead animals were par for the course, and not only does take a few days for them to start smelling, once they do it gets strong really fast, you wouldn't be able to be "oh well, I guess I'll ignore it". I feel like this story needs some editing
@@vanessaashford9203 I agree. I don’t know why writers don’t have others read their text before they post it to get feedback on mistakes like the “American gene”, above dog issue, and multiple others.
May have been more of a smell of blood or or guts rather then a smell of rot
Unless you are native american, "american" wouldnt be a thing on an ancestry test. Thats probably the least believable thing in the story lol.
Yea they:
-don’t understand how genetics work or of ASPD. Very few if any sufferers become serial killers. Plus like you said unless you’re indigenous we’re all from somewhere else.
-Very surface level understanding of Japanese culture. Probably a weeb and deathnote fan who doesn’t understand Kira isn’t a Japanese name, and it’s an English loan-word from “killer”.
Lol I laughed at the “American” part too 🤦🏻♀️😆
This story overall is honestly really weak. Definitely feels like someone's first attempt at writing horror LoL
The atuhor clearly hadn't done any research on anything they were writing about - from ancestory tests and police to basic human interactions and even protagonist's name.
They also don't understand how the American justice system works
I haven’t seen anyone bring it up yet, but I don’t think the baby was his. Maybe this is super obvious and it just seems subtle to me lol but when he says that this was the only murder that happened while he was out of town, that there was a smell of rot in the bedroom, and that she wanted to start trying for a baby right away after he got back, it seems to me that she actually lured this guy back to their apartment/house, ended up getting pregnant by this guy before killing him, and then to cover her tracks wanted to “try for a baby” with her fiancé even tho she was already pregnant.
Oooh, I hadn’t even considered that! Good catch!
I think either it's monster baby maybe Demon or Vampire????
@@anitacharron9153no
How would she have known she was pregnant if he was only gone for a week? They had the fight right when he got back. So she had to of been cheating and killed him before the trip. Idk this story has a lot of plot holes but it’s still good.
Yeah that's what I thought, the police reports all mentioned a bar being involved and they were all abusive men so it's very likely that it went from bar to the guy dogging her to go home and her playing hard to get
Imo she was cheating each time ,I'm curious to know her motives at least, abusive bf that made her have a vendetta? a friend kill herself over it?
Serial killers usually have some motive that makes their actions more understandable (though not justified by any means)
any psychology student will recognize the MAOA gene. and no, it doesnt actually make anyone a serial killer (necessarily). low MAOA activity is linked to aggressive behaviour which may cause a predisposition to violence, but isnt a direct cause. interesting story but has plotholes
no plot holes. MC is a pretty dull dude. it's not surprising he would see the moniker of the gene and be terrified. and yes the gene doesn't make people serial killers but it's very common for convicted serial killers to have the gene.
That's not a plothole. It's stated in the story that the main character doesn't really understand the science, so it makes sense that when he sees it's nicknamed the "serial killer gene" he would assume it actually means you're a serial killer, and that assumption drives the plot forward towards him starting to put the pieces together. It might be a faulty assumption, but it's an assumption that a layperson such as the main character would make.
@@PitterPatter20 And in this particular case his assumption wasn't wrong
Also, the high and low activity influencing aggression varies based on male or female.

Can someone let the author of this story know that Kira is not just a Japanese name
Yeah, Kira is a russian (female) name. But it's also main character's of the anime Death Note nick name. Which is the transliteration of the english word killer (kinda ironic in this story). Maybe protagonist's parents were just anime fans? Also don't confuse protagonist with author. Protagnist's ignorance doesn't mean author's ignorance.
@@Bexebeche More specifically, it is how native Japanese speakers pronounce the English word "killer". Sine they don't use 'L' sounds in their language, so they come out phonetically as 'R's. Killer, Kirrer, Kira.
@@Bexebeche it might not mean author's ignorance, but in this case I feel like it does. The author probably watched Death note and came away with idea that Kira was a traditional Japanese name, when it isnt.

No, that varies based on male or female. Also, not everyone has it actually.
@@YokaiX your wrong the MAOA gene is on the X chromosome everyone has it just there are multiple variants. (The different variants influence how much of the Enzyme is produced)
Source: PubMed Central
Since MAOA is an X- linked gene women can be classified as having high (H), intermediate or low (L) MAOA activity but men can only be classified by having high or low activity. The genotype frequencies for females were: LL: 16.6%, LH: 42.4%, HH: 41.0%; for males they were: L: 33.1% and H: 66.9%.
There are twice as many men with low MAOA gene activity however there are more women with Medium to low activity than men. Women have two X chromosomes which is why they can have Medium levels of MAOA gene and men cant.

It’s an exact example of “Love Is Blind”. You can love someone so much that even though you are fully aware of their faults no matter how bad, no matter what your friends say, you don’t even accept it until it either ends, or you fall out of love. @@briancathey498 100%
No, that’s “Love blinds” or “Love is blinding”. Love is emotional and often irrational, so it does blind one’s rationality and logic. It’s what makes love scary and exciting simultaneously, as it’s often a leap of faith when you decide to be emotionally vulnerable to someone you love.

I actually have the "warrior gene" 😂 I've NEVER heard of it being called the serial killer gene 🤔
Says the "probably a serial killer"
I'll be honest, the way monoamine oxidase deficiency (and it's actually MAO *deficiency* that's relevant, not just having the gene for MAO, which literally everyone has) is portrayed in this story is extremely unrealistic, sensationalistic, and arguably kind of ableist. The main consequence of MAO deficiency from my knowledge is sometimes having issues with emotional control, like anger management and that kind of thing, but even that's far from universal, most people have no pathological symptoms from it at all. People who have it are *sometimes* more combative, but that's actually *not* a behavior that is very conducive to being a successful serial killer, like "good" serial killers are usually good at blending in and seeming non-threatening, someone who gets angry easily is going to have a lot more trouble pulling it off. This also doesn't at all fit with the image of Winter being shy and sweet. Also, MAO deficiency doesn't make people non-empathetic or sociopathic or whatever, in fact if anything it makes them *more* emotional. I too have never heard of any association between the gene and being a serial killer, and am fairly sure the author made it up.
Given all of this and the various plot holes or other weird things in the story (like, wtf is "American DNA" if he's not talking about Native Americans? Which given the context I don't think he is), and the fact that I've never seen this author before, I'm kind of guessing they might be young and not very experienced at writing...at least, I hope so.
granted, she did only target abusive men mostly, so I suppose that is kind of a pretty different motivation from your average serial killer, but it still doesn't really make much sense in the real world for MAO deficiency to factor into her behavior at all.
I have two copies of the "Warrior allele" and all I got was adhd and a complete lack of self preservation instincts.
@@vanessaashford9203 Also worth noting, but the Warrior Gene affects women very differently from men.
I forget if it doesn't do anything, or if it just has a lower chance of making women violent, but I do recall that the Warrior gene caused women to be happier.

There is no such thing as American DNA 🧬 I wonder if it was just a mistake or something else. Maybe the creepy pastas are taking a toll.
yeah I too wondered wtf that was supposed to mean, like unless they meant he was indigenous American, but it seems unlikely he'd have that much indigenous ancestry and not mention anything more about it (given that usually there are government benefits and shit).
Maybe it could mean something like Anglo-American or British American? But again Americans isn't really a ethnicity
It actually is on most DNA tests meaning a lot of European DNA mixing to the point "American" is the most accurate. Think Appalachians or Deep south. Alternatively, could have meant Native American which seems more likely.
Yeah I used ancestry myself and thought it was odd the used “American” since America is a land of foreigners other than the indigenous people, but even those are broken down on the site as well. My guess is they chose to make it sound less interesting since they wanted the focus on Winter and her DNA
yes there is wtf, there lived people in america before europeans came there you know?
Kira is not a Japanese name, but it is similar to the way we pronounced the English word “killer”, as depicted in Death Note. Akira is a Japanese name, so they could’ve taken it from that maybe.

My theory is she never really loved him if she was keen on murdering him eventually.
She loved him, only if he was able to love her endlessly, in her point of view, that means to never doubt her, just trust her, etc. He didn't, naturally, he went stealth mode and snooped around for secrets. Was she surprised by any of the results? Was there anything cool about her family’s history? Just wondering! 😁
I'd do it but there's probably nothing suprizeing already know my family names and immagrations
The MAOA "warrior gene" does not express the same way in women, in women it is not associated with violent or anti-social behavior.
Also "American" is not a recognizable ethnicity (at least on a genetic level). Unless he meant "Native American".
All this just shows the authors ignorance in regards to this topic. A little more research would have made for a good story. The real scary story could have been: the husband and wife have a son, the son is normal, maybe slightly troubled, and the Dad (knowing his son inherited the "warrior gene") is convinced he will be a serial killer and goes insane himself.
That was a great story I know the husband said he wishes he never tried this DNA test but maybe it's better he did cuz if his wife murdered others who's to say she wouldn't be that kind of abusive mother I feel if you can before marriage and kids are involved try to find out whom your signing up to be with 😁

Those ancestry kits aren’t accurate. They don’t test your genes so specifically, as they compare them to populations in the world with similar genes. They can’t pin it down so specifically as to say you have blood from certain countries or anything. And certain races of people have, over the centuries, moved all around.
