Years later and I still remember this video. Your video alone was memorable, but your editing helped it live on in my memory years later. Very well done, man.
I literally replayed Soul Calibur III the other day AND moved my game files around to make room for other stuff. Holy shit I actually watched a video on glitches for games 10+ years old that prevented me from video game heartbreak
The Tony Hawk Messaging "glitch" is actually a buffer overflow vulnerability. It crashed the game by over-writing, in memory, the game itself. Sony's operating system for the PS2 wasn't very robust, so it simply shit the bed.
It's still a game-breaking bug regardless, it's like a gkitch in the first Saints Row game where it can freese the host's game but can break the game as a result, a different style of this was The Freezer from Saints Row 2, as it only affected physical copies of the game on Xbox 360
It’s almost stupid the amount of times I’ve rewatched this video. I have a general fascination for video game glitches, especially those that obliterate the game (whether it be for a speedrunning advantage or..game breaking-). Every time wanna see more game breaking stuff, I pop over here. Even though I’ve watched it many times before. Thanks for the great video, dude-
1:24 From the sonic wiki: The Dreamcast version of the game runs a disc check to make sure it is not run from a copied disc. If this check fails, Eggman will fall through the floor when he starts his section of Cannon's Core. I know the video is 5 years old, just wanted to point that out.
So it's more of an pirated detection than an glitch? I just played through the whole Dreamcast version of Sonic Adventure 2 and I didn't encounter it. So the SEGA Dreamcast must of checked it correctly despite not being the correct region version for the UK Dreamcast.
The glitch where if you take a chao to the doctor after it's first reincarnation which results in the game crashing or even corrupting your save file on Dreamcast should've been on the list instead.
I never played the Tony Hawk games, but that's really sad that an entire community of players pretty much died just because some people had to be assholes.
The community is still alive and well, even after all this years, after the servers went down, some players made one to keep playing, and now there's a fan made compilation called thug pro, and is better that anything activision could come up with.
You can't blame it on the assholes. There will ALWAYS be assholes, always, no matter what, it is 100% unavoidable. The fact they couldn't design the game around assholes is why the game failed
You should play the originals if you can find them. They're oddly addictive and made better by the fact that most of the levels are (very loosely) based on famous skate locations that actually exist. (I was raised in So-California so I've actually been to a lot of places that those levels are based on)
Actually the last time I was in Santa Monica actually pissed me off really bad because they banned skate boarding in a really famous area for skate boarding. But for some reason all the ramps and shit are still there. Lol, I think it was like an early form of gentrification? Like: "Yeah we're preserving the ramps as a historical land mark, but you aren't aloud to actually use them."
Missingno was actually completely safe to catch and use in any way, with the only negative effect being that it corrupted your hall of fame data. It was all the other glitch Pokemon like M and A that caused major issues, like save corruption or cartridge bricking.
Seriously? 'M was the problem? Weird. Everyone I talked to, even my brother, who's a pro Genwunner, said that 'M wasn't the issue, and it was just all versions of "MissingNo.". Huh. Well then. Thanks for telling me this. Now I can capture the Level 156 MissingNo. that has been surging through my Pokémon Blue game. That said, it'll be fine on a 3DS emulation, right?
It's funny, Missingo was actually a positive influence on my game. I was young when my brother did it, he said it gave him infinite rare candies (I've heard it gave you infinite of a certain item in your bag), and changed the Hall of Fame to all random Pokemon. He caught it, used it, our game still worked. It just glitched out the HoF, and he would glitch when he was hurt in a battle.
Yeah, I don't know how Missingno broke his game. Encountering/catching Missingno (or its cousin 'M) adds 128 to the 6th item in your bag (thus the "infinite rare candies," since you can do this as often as you want).
Oh yeah I remember getting inf items too though I didn't remember how and if it was in relation to missingo or not, but honestly what other item would you do that with...other than the master ball
yeah that's right, infinite master balls and rare candies for everyone! lol I remember everytime I looked at my pokemon party, the character sprite for Missingo would change...it would even take on the image of villagers in the game! I distinctly remember one time having the bald fat guy sprite in my poke party (as missingo) lol but I think it was always a mess of pixels in the battle scene ?? (though it would have been cool to see that fat guy in the fight haha
doublea32989 Also don't forget that after encountering it, all sprites for Pokémon look like they've been put through a shredder and randomly assembled back together. This can be fixed by viewing the sprite of a normal Pokémon (summary or Pokedex). One more thing you would do this with is Nuggets. Free money!
why the hell do people like you go AnY OnE ElSe GeT AN UnEaSy FeElINg WhEn WaTcHiNg ThE TraNsItONs??? or AnYOnE ElsE WaTcHInG iN 2019??? you capitalist pig shit
Fun Fact: The SA2 glitch is not actually a glitch at all, it's an anti piracy measure. Yes really, alot of people pirated SA2 back in the day (it was after dreamcast piracy was discovered to be easy), and that's why people to this day still think it's a glitch...because they don't wanna admit that they pirated SA2. I mean there's no shame in that, so why not?
"losing your progress is the worst thing that can happen i gotta say i disagree, clearly what happened to him with the missingno glitch was far worse it literally broke his entire game
aka the fuze from china which while it has Half Life 2 is Chinese and needs those Chinese servers so expect frequent connection lost popups and everything is in Chinese so you can hardly understand anything unless you're Chinese and the X Pro which is a knock off console that they tried to pass off as an Xbox One X Rerez has already showcased the knockoff consoles that soulja is reselling as his own here's the video: ruclips.net/video/ZqXuAuTFXpA/видео.html
It also had a hidden purpose: catching Safari Zone Pokemon outside. I found out that the randomly encountered Pokemon of the last area you were in would show up along the coastline along with Missingno, so I would go to the Safari Zone, leave, activate the glitch, then swim along the Cinnabar coast. Instead of relying on luck and hoping a Chansey liked you enough to stay in its ball, you could just throw one of your duplicated Master Balls at it.
@@tezcanaslan2877 That was mentioned in this video, Myth II. The programmers decided to set the uninstaller to erase one folder above the uninstall program. Trouble is, if the user installed to a custom location that was one level above the root of the drive, the uninstaller would delete everything on the drive. Later releases replaced this uninstaller with a proper one, but it still caused quite a few problems. Unrelated note: Why isn't word wrap working in the comment section for me right now?
@@ericglenn9984 Some of his videos are sometimes published as unlisted first tho. Check his social media and website out. They might be in the videos' descriptions.
Absolutely wild watching this video in 2022. I used to come home from elementary school and watch Top 10 Glitches videos all day. This is a video I remember watching. How time flies..
Apparently the Sonic Adventure 2 glitch is.. not a glitch at all. Its actually an anti-piracy method. According to users on the forums from Dreamcast-Talk; "Yeah, it's a copy protection measure. It only happens on uncracked CD-R copies and not on GD-ROMs. It's the same strategy Sonic Team used for the additional copy protection on PSO: rather than refuse to boot the game, thus letting the pirate know that he hasn't disabled all of the copy protections yet, the game boots but then crashes itself at a later time to defeat the pirated copy."
I can confirm this. There's actually a fair number of games that have game-breaking bugs in pirated copies. They're implemented deliberately, usually fairly late into the game. It's done so that people will get angry at the hackers who release the pirated versions, with the hope that the hackers won't go on to crack more games. Quite a smart marketing decision, really.
HGCentral But the video mentions a glitch involving this, not saying the anti-piracy method is a glitch, the glitch is that it can happen on normal Discs.
HGCentral 1. I'm assuming Flippy talked about glitches he as a person encountered, so I am assuming that this happened to him as well. 2. Why wouldn't an anti piracy glitch be at the beginning of the game so that you couldn't play through the game at all unless buying it? There shouldn't be an antipiracy glitch on the last level of the game, meaning that people get to play through almost all of it. What probably happened was that the more popular copied version of sonic adventure 2 was the version with the glitch
pendlemo22 (XxXpEnDlEmOzZz) 1. Very possible, but research does reveal that it was not a glitch that could just "occur", it was purposely done by the development team. 2. Because its a really savage way to fool pirates. They play through the game thinking everything is fine and dandy, but just before they could reap the rewards, the team lays a big "fuck you" to the pirates by having that platform lack collision detection.
Just another RUclips channel Coming from the same user who posted the said quote from the initial comment on the same forum board. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure that video is wrong. It's well known that Mortal Kombat Gold had tons of glitches in its initial release, so there are actually two different GD-ROMs of the game. The glitchy one has a yellow disc, while the fixed version comes on a red disc. SA2 has only one disc, though, so you'll never have a problem if you buy the GD-ROM."
I once found a game breaking glitch in Zelda twilight princess on accident. In the desert temple(can’t remember what it’s called) you get the spinner. If you use the spinner in the room with the spinning wall before you get the boss key, that file is softlocked forever. And the boss key is dangled right in front of your face just out of reach. I was on GameCube.
Yeah, I think that's the problem. He comments about how stupid it is to save using cheats, but then blames the game for blocking when he saves with 'M. BTW 'M is very different than Missingno. Missingno is harmless, 'M, from what I've heard, can be harmful. Probably just saved after using cooltrainer, though.
I'm surprised missingno never messed up my game. I did that glitch soooo much. Lucky I guess. And I dont remember mine screaming like Arnold Schwarzenegger lol
I used him as a main team member and never had any trouble. When SIlver came out I tried trading him to that game and it worked with an odd result. Gave me a Kangaskhan that could use Fly.
The Sonic Adventure 2 issue is only an issue with pirated copies. “Yeah, it's a copy protection measure. It only happens on uncracked CD-R copies and not on GD-ROMs. It's the same strategy Sonic Team used for the additional copy protection on PSO: rather than refuse to boot the game, thus letting the pirate know that he hasn't disabled all of the copy protections yet, the game boots but then crashes itself at a later time to defeat the pirated copy.”
Missigno only corrupts the Hall of fame and multiplies your sixth slot. However there have been more than 100 types of glitch pokemon discovered and more have to be submitted yet, probably you caught a dangerous variant like 'M.
+Tarik it was probably 'M or A. 'M can crash your game if you catch it at level 0, and A knows the "cooltrainer" move in its first slot if caught at any level. "Cooltrainer" causes corruption and can wreck your save file if you save after using it.
One of the great things about Vice City was ironically the imperfections. For example you could serve cars. Not because Rockstar deliberately put car surfing in the game. But because You couldn't expect realistic physics from an old game like that. Which meant the world was so much more fun to screw around with.
I catched a missingno by myself. All that happened was, it turned into Mewtwo after a level up from level 138 to level 99. A Mewtwo with some wierd attacks and a call like Venasaur XDD
*sigh....... Due to the very nature of the EPROM chip the game is stored on, it is physically impossible for Missingno to brick the cartridge, because the rom data itself can't be overwritten. At the very worst, if you catch a particularly weird one, it _might_ corrupt the SRAM in such a way that it will screw up upon loading. In that case, disconnecting and reconnecting the battery in the cartridge will instantly fix it at the cost of your save file.
And Pokémon games seem prone to killing their batteries, in my experience, so leaving the game on a shelf for a decade could be just as bad as the glitch! Either way, not too hard to fix. Perfect Dark, on the other hand... I never had this happen to me, but didn't it have a glitch that would brick the game just because a CPU player randomly did something wrong? IIRC, most N64 games didn't need a battery to preserve their memory, so that would take away the one chance at fixing the game.
There are a few Pokémon that can completely destroy the game but they are few and far between. Missingno isn't harmful at all unless you consider screwed graphics a huge problem.
I have an even worse #1. If you use the official Nintendo GameCube Memory Card 1019 (the white one) with the Wii, the card will be permanently damaged, not only losing all save data, but preventing you from ever using it again. I consider this worse because not only do you lose the card itself, but the error isn't even with a game. It's in the hardware itself.
+DracoHandsome well the GameCube memory card should not be used for the Wii, so if you use your hardware incorrectly the chances are that you might break the memory card.
+DracoHandsome I learned this one the hard way. But not entirely damaged. Wii exploits allow you to fuck with files and save/recover them. Also, it only affected my SSBM files. Nothing else. TTYD is saved :D
+DracoHandsome How do you know for sure that it's the Wii hardware that caused the damage and not just age? I've had it happen to me but I find it hard to believe that somehow the Wii damaged it, especially since I used mine with my Wii for close to 6 years before any corruption occurred. Do you have any links to explanations somewhere so I could learn more?
(Sigh) Here goes the Console vs. PC war. People, it's getting old now. Nobody cares if you have a PC or a Xbox 360, be grateful that you HAVE a thing to play your games on. Wow, so disappointing to see how people takes gaming too seriously.
There's a guy called"MissingoXpert" he does Pokemon glitch videos. Look into Pokemon yellow and look for superglitch. He's done two different videos I think? He shows you what it does and why you should definitely not save during super glitch. It'll help you understand superglitch.
I cannot believe how old this video is now, like holy shit. I can't begin to count the amount of times I've watched this now. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this old piece of history again, I've always loved this video.
You guys think if you keep telling yourselves PC gaming sucks that it will magically become a true statement? My Skyrim looks like a big budget cgi scene... all the time. My Fallout games are connected so I don't even need to exit one of them to start the other. I don't have to wait for patches that will never come, the community does this itself. What does your console community do when a game breaks? Wait for the developer to save the day? Say what you will about us PC gamers, but we get shit done. And with style :)
So because you have to do some thing to fix something that should never have been released in that state it makes PC better? No, it makes it just as bad and a time eater for whom ever does the work.
***** The company usually does make the patch. I would say that the odds are about even with console and PC when it comes to a bug that comes to light and a patch is made by the developer to fix it. The difference is that a community developed temporary fix is usually created and permeated far faster than a developer driven permanent fix. Also, such a thing isn't even possible with console. Then comes the reality that there are some bugs that are never fixed on either console or PC. In that case, the PC version is infinitely more likely to be fixed by that very same community than the console version. All in all PC has every advantage when it comes to fixing bugs and implementing aftermarket improvements.
I still remember saving in the wrong room as wolf link in Twilight Princess like 60% through the game, and finding out that the save is forever softlocked after you load it. There was nothing but rage there
Makes me kind of sad that this channel & his social media accounts have been inactive for well over a year and that there’s not more content like this. The editing effects are quality.
His style reminds me a bit of oddheader, but he's a lot more monotone, but he does the glitch videos and out of bound discoveries and such. You should check him out, he's still active
God.. Anyone else get some major nostalgia feels from the last one? Damn I loved those demo disks, it's a damn shame demos aren't really a thing anymore. I remember being a kid and going to the grocery store with my mom and I'd immidiately go to the magazine section while she shopped hoping to find a new demo was out in one of the magazines(I was always on the lookout for Soul Reaver 2, MGS2, and FFX).
Yeah if you're trying to play bf1 or fo4 on a 2010 build, chances are you're a dumbshit. I stopped using consoles a while ago because limitations are shit and the majority of the community are whiny 15 year old plebs. Like with Gears 4 being made with the option on the 1X to either choose between speed or good looks, people are upset that if they can't afford a new console they'll be at a disadvantage because other players would be faster than them. 1: Grow up and get a job, then you can afford the new console, problem solved. 2: PC has always had this, if your build is better optimized then you automatically have an advantage over other players, it's called "suck it down and git gud," then you won't notice if someone else is 3% faster than you.
It happened to me too. I was about 11 years old, but I figured out what happened and called Sony to complain. They let me choose a free game. I chose Sly 2. As bad as losing all my save files was - and it was truly a travesty - That game almost made up for it. Absolutely massive f*ck up, but pretty good customer service from Sony. This is the first I've come across folks talking about this glitch, it richly deserves the #1 spot.
7:34 this is still happening in GTA online. Modders can join a session and cause any player to crash to desktop at the touch of a button. Guess Rockstar employees were big fans of Tony Hawk.
Dude, same! I was about halfway through the game and put it back in after I played the demo. I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. Needless to say it took me a few years before I was willing to restart it lol.
I love revisiting san andreas every year. it's such a perfect game imo. really lightweight even by old day's standard, the graphic aged really well, incredibly good radio songs, fun driving mechanic, etc
Definetely one of the best in the gta series. The servers for the multiplayer mod can also be really great like the one i go on...sadly though with changes that have been made over the years i would say it looks more like a GTA V knockoff now and has lost a good portion of it's character (Especially with them making airplane bombs a thing now on it...rustlers everywhere :/).
Fun little fact about that memory card erasing demo. In the next issue of the magazine they recalled the demo and Sony offered a free Sony game for anyone that sent in the demo. I talked to the person on the phone and they gave me a list of Sony games to choose from, I picked Wild Arms 3. What i didn't tell them was that they mistakenly sent me 2 copies of the demo so i kept one for collecting and got a free game with the other. It sucked losing memory card data but getting a free game was awesome.
I remember one night many many years ago I bring my ps2 and memory card to my friends house to sleep over. My friend wanted my gta saves copied onto his memory card so he could have all the cool stuff unlocked. I didn't have a problem seeing as it was possible to be able to copy saved data. We would always trade games and borrow eachothers shit he was my friend..He had the holiday disc and said I could have it, because he didn't play it anymore. I wanted it because I saw cool demo games on it that I wanted to play. When I got home.... ALL my save files were erased from my memory card, and I thought he did it on purpose. I thought when he was copying my gta data, he instead stole the data. That was back when I was around maybe 10 years old. Many many years later I stumble across this youtube video and find out the truth. Now I can apologize for being a pre pubescent asshole to my friend who did nothing wrong LMAO
I'm surprised that this game breaking bug did not "break" your friendship with this guy if you still called him a friend afterwards even though he didn't intentionally mean to wipe out your memory card.
One does not simply get their cartridge bricked from Missingno. The only way to do that is if you screw around with much bigger, much more dangerous glitches that you would have known if you preformed them.
+Kawaii Wolfie I disagree - my own copy of blue was also bricked by a single Missingno encounter. If you want more details, you'll probably find plenty of discussion on it on GameFAQs - I've covered it many times there before.
+Izzy Standridge Lavender Town and it messed witg kids head when kids THINK THAT IT CAN MESS WITH THEIR HEAD but now i find Lavender Town theme nice (?) even tho 1 year ago i touth it could mess with my head and everything...i didnt even notice lavender town theme in this video untill like a monts ago even tho i watched this vid..idk..1 year ago? idk i dont remember when i watched it but i was SO focused on what flippy was saying i didnt give a fuck about song
The worst one i've encountered is the red dead redemption undead nightmare headless glitch, it ruins the entire game, it still is not fixed and rockstar refuses to fix it aswell.
anyone remember driver 2, when the cops would drive so crazy to get you... one time, and cop car flipped upside-down right at the bottom corner of a building, creating a ramp up the side of the building.. as we were already speeding, another cop slammed me into the said ramp, launching me though the air flipping... a gaming moment i will never forget
In driver 2 my sibling and I would try to break the game all the time. One time we hit a cop under the engine compartment and sent it flying away. We had no idea were it went, all we know is that one of us said “bazooka” at the *exact* moment we hit the car. From that the onward where we hit the car we call it “bazooka hill”
Flippy THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU FOR Pointing out how much Bullshit is in the term "PC Master Race". I've spent literally weeks of my combined time getting skyrim to run, Deleting Saves of Broken Games, Completely uninstalling and re-installing Skyrim (Including mods), and So many other fucking problems With Skyrim. I've lost a combined total of over 20 something days of Data in Saved games cause one of the main quests was broken and I couldn't complete it. My PS3 Copy of Skyrim I still consider superior cause the worse thing to happen is I lost a Sward cause of Improper storing procedure or the game freezes which sets me back to about 2 mins ago. Even though there's no mods I had more fun with my PS3 than the PC.
***** Incorrect. You can Play any PS3 game in any PS3 console Perfectly without trouble from system requirements. You CANNOT plays every PC game with any PC because they system requirements aren't met on that PC. So then you have to go pay an arm and a peg to either Upgrade that PC, or if you can't, Buy a New PC. and even then the chances of Crashes and other things going wrong on the PC version are always higher than the Console Version. I know I've done a little experiment testing this.
Danny Caracciolo I can't play my PS3 games on a PS2, so using that logic to compare playing games on one PC to another is invalid. Both consoles and PC are efficient at the target audience they are directed to. Consoles are much easier to use and have better (most often) exclusives but come at higher short-term expenses. PC's have their problems due to a lack of QA, but that is negligible since it has a large community to solve those problems. PC's overall preform better then Consoles in the long-run, with less expenses with software and hardware and are much more accessible to indie developers. I can say this having owned a console from every generation and running a 6 year old gaming rig that can play modern games on medium-low settings that look and perform 10x better then any PS3 game.
Missingno is actually one of the least dangerous glitches in Red and Blue. the effect at 14:57 is an extremely dangerous Glitch nicknamed 'Super Glitch'. Explaining it as simply as I can it is a Glitched move that alters the games data due to not having a proper end point in the code. Simply viewing the move is enough to activate the effects with could be anything between a simple game crash or completely deleting you're save File.
Bottom Glass Cinema I say its an official Pokémon. It's like, the legendary of all legandarys. It not only is so strange and obscure that you can't find it in normal gameplay, but it also can effect your entire game and basically destroy the world.
Yo, Missing No broke my Cartridge as well. Everyone fucking tells me "You're WRONG" HOW CAN I BE WRONG YOU DUMB SHIT I CAUGHT HIM AND IT FUCKED MY CARTRIDGE okay I'll calm down. Still, thank you so much for proving that I was not just crazy!
No thank you! People keep saying the same thing to me. Either: 1. It's rare and the circumstances have to be juuust right or 2. Some copies of the game are more prone to breaking with it
If I recall, the effect of missingno is different depending on either your trainer's name, or the stats of one of your pokemon, so there are wildly varying effects and player accounts for that reason. I'm too lazy to do it, but you can probably easily pull up more in-depth analysis on why it does what it does through a search.
zomgpirate It's really not even that dangerous. Most of the symptoms he listed were from things like glitch city and the zzazz glitch. The hall of fame glitch is the only one that's true, and that's only if u catch missingno.
we are now seeing the pokemon kid, in its natural habitat trying to attract some females by editing his footage of humping sky and putting pokemons in the sky, while doing that it also opens its pocket, so the edited pokemons seem like they are getting in its pocket, what an edgy piece of shit.
Although you guys may not agree, if you look online, there are a LOT worse pc games than on console. One reason might be that it is easier to code a pc game, because not many people know how to code on a console. Another reason might be compatibility issues between different pcs and different operating systems. In an update for an operating system there may be new functions added which may prevent games from functioning as they should. That is my opinion.
So I’ve been binge watching Shark Tank for like the last 2 weeks straight, and, at 16:42 when you said, “and for THAT reason...”, I was waiting/hoping for those infamous words....”I’m out!” 😂😂
Heads up: Whatever bricked your Pokemon cartridge was NOT the normal missing no. The worst thing missingno can do is screw up the hall of fame (but that can be pretty funny imo). For more information, take a look at MissongnoXpert. He isn't active but he has a series dedicated to glitching the first gen.
Yeah. That REALLY fucked me off. Missingno and M are literally harmless. It's other glitch pokemon that can break your game. I'm so pissed off that there aren't other commenters pointing this out.
@@TLuigi003 I have no idea what you're saying in the latter part of your message. But you need to elaborate which M. Charizard M can corrupt a save because it can learn super glitch. The M that looks identical to Missingno that you always find at cinnibar island is 100% harmless. Im fact, the only differences between Missingno and M are literally: Different index numbers and M can evolve whereas Missingno cannot. Get your facts right.
Ain’t no way this video is 9 years old!! Man I remember when this video first dropped it would always show up in my Recommended. This video is an all time classic.
Wait, w-wait... So that was a glitch? Not just silly me, who might accidentally turn console off, but basically a time bomb from all the beginning?! WHAT THE F**K???!!! So... When I was young, Soulcalibur 3 was one of my favourite game of all time. Pushed that game to it's limits, squeezing all it's secrets, endings, weapons, clothes... Conquest mode was one of my favourite because I can create a real badass, give him best weapon I could think of and start to crush everything. There was actually an interesting way to complete it by killing enemies ONLY with your protagonist, thus making him an army of one And so I see now I was doomed from the entire beginning... Thx, Flippy. Next time I'll be far more carefull with this particular game
BTW, there are 39 MISSINGNO. slots. There were originally 190 Pokémon planned, but 39 were scrapped and blanked out (kind of). There is also 'M, who ppl confuse with MISSINGNO. Also, 3 MISSINGNO. are actually used; one for the Kabutops Fossil, one for Aerodactyl Fossil, and the GHOST one.
I remember a weird glitch with Jet Moto 2 on the Playstation where I used codes to unlock all of the tracks and give me super speed and steering. The glitch is that it was always enabled somehow. Whenever I would go and start a new game, those cheats would be enabled automatically and I couldnt turn them off. After a while of trying different things to fix it I just gave up and never played it again lol Even before I broke my game, I preferred the first Jet Moto anyway.

So my guess is that 1/3 of the copies had some sort of bug in the detection that made it think it was pirated?
Ok Boomer.
Yung Catfish Stop. Please stop.

@@xxxax31xxx no
You should play the originals if you can find them.
Nope
You are right
It's funny, Missingo was actually a positive influence on my game.
Oh yeah I remember getting inf items too though I didn't remember how and if it was in relation to missingo or not, but honestly what other item would you do that with...other than the master ball
doublea32989 You would also do it with rare candies. Free level 100 Pokémon for the win!
yeah that's right, infinite master balls and rare candies for everyone! lol I remember everytime I looked at my pokemon party, the character sprite for Missingo would change...it would even take on the image of villagers in the game!
Free money!

I can't imagine the pain of losing all your save files, on Christmas eve, from playing a demo of one of the best side scrollers ever.
But wait missingno glitch had a purpose, I remember doing duplicating exploit in red and blue... good times 1999
Yup. Not supposed to catch Missingo, you use him to dupe yourself an infinite supply of Master Balls.
To clarify missingno is harmless m on the other hand isn't. unless u catch m twice in the same battle.
It was kind of a double edged sword that could benefit you but at the same time could also fuck you over.
You can duplicate without the missigno

You were in elementary school back then? God, I’m old!
Apparently the Sonic Adventure 2 glitch is.. not a glitch at all. Its actually an anti-piracy method. According to users on the forums from Dreamcast-Talk;
"Yeah, it's a copy protection measure.
You could watch this video forever and it doesn't get any less entertaining. You should make more!

I always blamed myself for breaking my Pokemon Red cartridge, but it was all Missingno's fault... I am finally at peace.
MissingNo. Can't break the game. Sorry to tell you that you aren't at peace yet with the original Pokémon games
Missigno only corrupts the Hall of fame and multiplies your sixth slot. However there have been more than 100 types of glitch pokemon discovered and more have to be submitted yet, probably you caught a dangerous variant like 'M.
if you catch it,it's a problem,
if you don1t,it's ok
GTdba Yeah maybe, because I remember seeing a weird glitched up Pokemon looking exactly like Missingno.
Which meant the world was so much more fun to screw around with.
i used to sit in the back of a bobcat firing off rounds as it sped around the city

IIRC, most N64 games didn't need a battery to preserve their memory, so that would take away the one chance at fixing the game.
my Missingno just evolved into a Kanguskhan after using it in battle
There are a few Pokémon that can completely destroy the game but they are few and far between. Missingno isn't harmful at all unless you consider screwed graphics a huge problem.
Most games: A few glitches that don’t matter too much

TTYD is saved :D
ian speelman Yup, the GameCube Memory Cards shouldn't be used with the Wii that explicitly has slots for GameCube Memory Cards. That's logical.
DracoHandsome Im sorry i forgot they had ports for gamecube hardware :(
+DracoHandsome How do you know for sure that it's the Wii hardware that caused the damage and not just age? I've had it happen to me but I find it hard to believe that somehow the Wii damaged it, especially since I used mine with my Wii for close to 6 years before any corruption occurred. Do you have any links to explanations somewhere so I could learn more?

Your comment is funny because you didn't listen to video.

Atlas And the PC community isn't full of 12 year olds who think they are better than everyone?
the holiday disc thing actually happened to me, and I was wondering why until I came across to this video

I remember playing on that disk, fortunately for me I never tried the Viewtiful Joe demo because I thought the game looked dumbaf as a kid xD
YOU PICKED THE WRONG DEMO FOOL!
11:49 “Hehehahahahahah! Only a fool would use that stone!”
Cody Gretz dude
That's sad
That is actually a great story. Bonus points for worst game bug around for ruining friendships, not just deleting data.
You should apologize
I'm surprised that this game breaking bug did not "break" your friendship with this guy if you still called him a friend afterwards even though he didn't intentionally mean to wipe out your memory card.
One does not simply get their cartridge bricked from Missingno. The only way to do that is if you screw around with much bigger, much more dangerous glitches that you would have known if you preformed them.
Oops. *performed
+Kawaii Wolfie Also, did he have to put in that music that screwed with kids heads? What was it called? Or maybe it was a different song. Either way.
+Izzy Standridge
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Oh man that Sphinx one got me when i was a kid, actually put me into tears lmao
F
Hopefully that was patched in the HD remaster
Bro i used to watch this video religiously back in the day😭 It's so nice coming back to it
The worst one i've encountered is the red dead redemption undead nightmare headless glitch, it ruins the entire game, it still is not fixed and rockstar refuses to fix it aswell.
Uninstall the last game update.
Too bad you can't do that if you are on the Xbone...
DURNK I don't think that red dead redemption is on the xbox one
Owen Wellspring It is playable on the Xbox One via Backwards Compatibility
ok
anyone remember driver 2, when the cops would drive so crazy to get you... one time, and cop car flipped upside-down right at the bottom corner of a building, creating a ramp up the side of the building.. as we were already speeding, another cop slammed me into the said ramp, launching me though the air flipping... a gaming moment i will never forget
Survival was hell in a nutshell.
I remember somehow being flung above a building in the original Driver. It was roofless!
***** PC's Do not have Gaming Consistency.
Consoles: 1
PCs: 0
***** Incorrect.
You can Play any PS3 game in any PS3 console Perfectly without trouble from system requirements. You CANNOT plays every PC game with any PC because they system requirements aren't met on that PC. So then you have to go pay an arm and a peg to either Upgrade that PC, or if you can't, Buy a New PC. and even then the chances of Crashes and other things going wrong on the PC version are always higher than the Console Version. I know I've done a little experiment testing this.
Danny Caracciolo
Except when one part of the console shits itself and you have to fork out for a new one entirely instead of replacing one part.
***** But that's rare.
Can MissingNo just become an official Pokemon already?
PraticalNuke
MissingNo is a reincarnation of deoxys
Bottom Glass Cinema I say its an official Pokémon. It's like, the legendary of all legandarys. It not only is so strange and obscure that you can't find it in normal gameplay, but it also can effect your entire game and basically destroy the world.
@@WasabiKitCat waht
Maybe it's a Cleffa...
sphinx and cursed mummey....best game. worst glitch.
Shit game shit glitch
It's not the best ever...but I sure as hell don't consider it shit.
hex knives
If a newer version of it it would be named Sphinx and the Mums Car
***** ...Really? What's so bad about it -besides the mummy sections-
Yo, Missing No broke my Cartridge as well.
Either:
1. It's rare and the circumstances have to be juuust right or
2. Some copies of the game are more prone to breaking with it
Flippy when are you gonna post bids again. Or are you still working on one?
Jared Bechtold I've got a number of videos planned, but the production time is taking a while.
I could watch this thousands of times.

Well R.I.P all pockemon danm you too hell kid
Japan being Japan
we are now seeing the pokemon kid, in its natural habitat trying to attract some females by editing his footage of humping sky and putting pokemons in the sky, while doing that it also opens its pocket, so the edited pokemons seem like they are getting in its pocket, what an edgy piece of shit.
KILL ME NOW A FUCKING 9 MINUTE AD AND ITS UNSKIPABLE
IKR
Your joking right
Anton Richardson nope. Some idiot thought it would be a good idea to make a short-film into a youtube ad.
Arthur Clery I know of a way to stop show ads just delete the update
Arthur Clery oh well have fun with that
Why does this video have over 4000 dislikes?
8:34 Oh I see.
YouthEnergy right. wtf
Yeah hes full of crap
"I really enjoyed this video, but he said a single thing that I disagree with so I hate the video now!"
iPhone user like thing spotted
Although you guys may not agree, if you look online, there are a LOT worse pc games than on console. One reason might be that it is easier to code a pc game, because not many people know how to code on a console. Another reason might be compatibility issues between different pcs and different operating systems. In an update for an operating system there may be new functions added which may prevent games from functioning as they should. That is my opinion.
So I’ve been binge watching Shark Tank for like the last 2 weeks straight, and, at 16:42 when you said, “and for THAT reason...”, I was waiting/hoping for those infamous words....”I’m out!” 😂😂
Hey! The Soul Caliber one happened to me. I was today years old when I found out why..

Heads up: Whatever bricked your Pokemon cartridge was NOT the normal missing no. The worst thing missingno can do is screw up the hall of fame (but that can be pretty funny imo). For more information, take a look at MissongnoXpert. He isn't active but he has a series dedicated to glitching the first gen.
iirc it also glitches the amount of items you have in a certain slot. But MissingNo itself is harmless.
The sonic "bug" is fake too. Somebody didn't do their research. Its piracy protection on fake copies of the game.
Yeah. That REALLY fucked me off. Missingno and M are literally harmless. It's other glitch pokemon that can break your game. I'm so pissed off that there aren't other commenters pointing this out.
@@johnwest6690 M can break your save file. Missing N0. only HoF
Not gonna lie, I love the graphic glitch effect inbetween chosen games
Uhh ngl I thought my phone was glitching... good to know it wasn’t.
Everyone does it's why everyone does it
Look up datamoshing. You'll love it.
There was actually an interesting way to complete it by killing enemies ONLY with your protagonist, thus making him an army of one
And so I see now I was doomed from the entire beginning... Thx, Flippy. Next time I'll be far more carefull with this particular game
I learnt about it when I discovered the series. I didn't harmed the data thanks to the Divine Mithra. XP
Soulcalibur is my life, btw. (?)
That Missingno game melt freaked me the fuck out.
It is a creature born not of its world, yet it can destroy its world.
Goosebumps everywhere.
YEAH these PEOPLE are SO stupid
@@FtBallJock6 Clearly not. It's been confirmed by dataminers and Nintendo that it is 100% not intentional.
Quite amazing how high quality this is, despite it being nearly 10 whole years old now
I remember a weird glitch with Jet Moto 2 on the Playstation where I used codes to unlock all of the tracks and give me super speed and steering.
Congrats on 100,000 subs flippy!

While it didn’t bring back our progress, PlayStation did send a free game of your choosing if you received the demo disc
* A free game published by SCEA of your choosing. I can't complain though I got Sly Cooper 2
