I am only 31 and my all my hair turned gray. Everytime I cut my hair I have to dye. But after watching your video, I have now decided to keep it gray white. Thanks for the encouragement

Im ijAcK Cheers to you! I’m graying out at 31 (graying since my mid-teens) and my hair was falling out from dying it-plus health issues-in my late twenties. So, I stopped. I have dark brown hair and LOVE the gray and silver streaks that are starting to chunk together. I always wanted to go lighter, anyhow 😉

@@createplanprosper699 Great point !! I started greying at 31 (4 years ago now) and it's been the perfect excuse to go light after living life with dark hair ! And it's a great time to get creative with hair cuts too. It's really great that stigma around grey hair is dying as women are embracing their natural (and likely healthier) hair. :)

I agree. It does make you look younger. Its because Jet Black hair is very harsh as you get older, it doesn't look good anymore. You have to start to soften your look. The grey around your hairline not only looks AWESOME, but because its a light shade and breaks the black away from your face it softens your face a lot. I LOVE IT!! Its probably a style I should have considered myself because I started this project of bleaching my whole head!!! LOL!

Dyeing it every couple weeks was making me anxious because the gray wouldn't take the dye very well. I tried different things and finally I said screw it! First of all.. you are GORGEOUS!! Your face structure, your eyes, your teeth, your skin tone.. everything.. GORGEOUS!! You have so much hair, too, it is very luxurious. I'm 43 now but I've been gray for many years. I've considered letting go multiple times, but I always chicken out. If I looked like you I might do it. :) You look amazing! Also, when you pulled all your hair back (like a pony tail) you looked even better, younger even, than with it down. Though, I love the cut and style, so it all works. Beautiful!

I got my first several long gray hairs at 17 years old and also had so much at 32 years old! I stopped dying it at 42. I'm now 59; I have no wrinkles but I have finally gone totally white! I get stopped everywhere I go and get asked if I dyed my hair this way. I tell them too, "Nope, it grows this way! I just wash it and blow dry it out. It's so easy!" Like you said.
My hubby says retaining my "very dark" eyebrows has been a blessing even though my hair has gone stark white. I get stopped now more (even by quite young women) and get paid more compliments than when I ever got when I dyed my hair very, very dark brunette, my natural color. Your eyes and brows are very dark too, in fact, you are absolutely stunning BTW! I quite enjoyed your fun video. Thanks for posting it.

Nikol, I just turned 38, and the grey patch above my left ear is finally prominent enough to face this decision. I am AMAZED that women have to face this transition with any stigma whatsoever, and I am even more sad that it's so uncommon for us to talk to each other about it! So, thank you for sharing this part of your life journey with me--it's very much appreciated. I could probably continue to dye my hair naturally with henna (as I have been doing for a couple of years now, for fun as well as to cover the grey) but I'm growing out a short hairstyle right now, and I think it's the perfect time for me to transition to my natural color--whatever greys may come. Thank you for giving me that boost of sister-strength to go for it.

Nikol, I have just found your videos and I love them. I especially love these videos about your gray hair transition. I'm 54 and I still cover my grey hair with Demi-Permanant color with a volume 20 developer. So it's my own variation of gentler color and stronger developer for a Demi color. I have to get my color done every 4-5 weeks. My hair is thick and very wavy, I also
have lots of hair. I'm currently growing out a short cut back to a shoulder length bob and I'm now seriously considering allowing my grey to come in. I've always felt lucky to have good genes without lots of face wrinkles so I've had the mentality that I would look old if I let my grey in. Well guess what, 50 is kinda old...lol. I think this is a good time for me to jump on the grey band wagon...thank you for your inspiration you're awesome. I'm also very happy your eye surgery went well.

You look amazing Nikol!! The pattern of your grey and natural dark hair is enviable and people would pay a fortune to replicate that look I'm sure... so unique and classy and not the least bit ageing on your beautiful face! I didn't quit dyeing until I was 43, by which time my hair was almost entirely white... I SO regret missing out on that gorgeous two tone stage that you're going through. If I had seen this video of you 10 years ago I would have quit dyeing instantly. I really hope it encourages other younger women to embrace their naturally changing hair colour, so that it becomes more the norm and women will no longer feel 'it's no fun going grey in your 30s' and instead start thing 'woahh I'm SO lucky to have this unique and beautiful hair that is all mine and different to everyone else'. You are living proof Nikol that going grey in no way detracts from or ages a beautiful woman and can in fact enhance beauty if taken care of and worn stylishly.

Nikol, you are not old enough, but back in the 50's, women paid BIG MONEY to have that done to their hair, that was very chic and on trend during that era. My mother had black hair naturally, and at the mid-to end of her 40's, a white streak came out in the front of her hair naturally, she was SO happy to have that streak! (I used to kid around and tell folks that that was "my streak" for the worry I put her through growing up, lol!) She was a very lovely woman (pale skin, black hair, green-brown eyes) very striking, and with a brilliant mind. (She and my dad were landscape designers and owned their own design/installation firm.) She wore couture in her youth and the women in her family (several sisters-my aunts) were knockouts as well.

Wow, this video is the video I wanted to make for years but never did. Due to a hair dye allergy, I had no choice but to let my sparkle come through. People gasped when they saw it, I was told "you're too young to do that", and obviously no one has ever come up to me and said, "wow, you look so much younger"! As women, we constantly strive through ego to always look younger. This video is perfect. You are absolutely stunning. People must stop you all day long saying how beautiful your hair is. That's called envy from those who wish they had the courage to let their own hair grow out but ego won't let them. If they only knew ... the majority of the population of men LOVE gray hair. It's a fact. ♡
Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained by living a Godly life.

I love it! Very flattering. You motivated me to begin my gray journey as well - I’m about 20 weeks in. Working with my colorist via a highlights/low lights plan and so far it’s working … for me anyway and that’s your point. Make it work for you so you’re comfortable with your own journey.

It was really shocking when I let my hair go gray. It was very brassy and I hated it! It was so white but I got some nice “lowlights.” Keep your hair hydrated, get a good stylist (they can help you so much) and use the best products for removing yellow that you can afford.. and listen to Nikol, shes got tons of great advice! Im rocking my gray hair now!

Gray makes you look beautiful you look mature I love it I'm a guy 49 years old my hair started showing gray when I was about 30 to 33 not much but now at 49 wow a lot of gray and I was debating on dying my hair which I did only one time in my life but I've decided to embrace my maturity love your video thanks.

Wow! I love your hair! I'm in the process of "embracing " the grey. I'm 48 and have been going grey since I was 17. I thought about it on and off for about a year and finally bit the bullet in May. I got a short cut, bleached it and applied a silver toner. Now the only hair that isn't my natural colour is the top and bangs, which I currently have a blue underlayer. I say "Go for it! " If you really hate it you can always colour it again 😁

I dye my hair every 6 weeks but now that I missed my appointment 2 weeks ago I really thinking of just embracing my grey hair and letting it see were it goes . Mine when parted in the middle looks mostly brown, but pulled back, my grey shows too. I’m not quite as grey as you right now, but I did only just turn 38. I love the grey! Let it shine!!! 💜

I just found your channel and am in love with it!! I first saw the one where you did you 81 yr old mothers makeup and am now binge-watching your channel. I have to say . . . in that video with your mom, I caught myself staring at your hair! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!! It is BEAUTIFUL! For the last 2-3 yrs I have been letting my grey come thru as well. I turned 60 this year so I felt that it was time. My hairdresser. . . not so much! LOL! But she is working with me anyway. If you can see my profile picture, it looks like highlights. I still have the last color she used on me on the bottom 1/4-/1/3 of my hair and I love it. Anyway . . .just wanted to let you know that you look GREAT with your grey hair . . . oh, and I love how mine and yours looks different when you style it differently. We have OPTIONS without having to color it. I tell my hairstylist that I have the BALAYAGE color without having to pay for it. LOL!!

You look amazing.. I started turning grey at 17/18 and I'm sick of dying my hair all the time. Plus the grey doesn't go the same colour as the rest. After watching this I maybe inspired to just get my hair cut as it's so so long to shoulder length and just embrace the grey.. if my hair looks as good as yours then I'll be so pleased. Thankyou for this video

Wow! Awesome hair you have .... I started my gray "journey" 8 weeks ago and am struggling a bit. This is after 41!!!! years, every three weeks of touching up the roots. Last time I did it, I just thought this has GOT to end. So, I'm giving myself 2 years to grow it out and down to the length I want. Fingers crossed that it will look as stunning as yours. Thanks for the support.

Wow! Only JUST seeing this video tonight, and I really have to say, I think the Bob style suits you best! ❤
I'm 61 and started going grey at the age of 20, when I was pregnant with my eldest son (now 40!), just after the death of my infant daughter. For years I asked hairdressers to dye it grey, but they said they 'couldn't' so it was coloured mid-brown, til there was so much grey to cover it was suggested I went blonde for the last 20+ years, until in January 2015, (my middle daughter's 30th birthday), I asked my fab hairdresser to cut out all the blonde, and I was left with the most fab grey, spiky pixie cut, and have embraced the grey ever since, and its a nice chin length bob, now, which I really love! My wee Mum's just turned 81 and still gets her hair coloured every 6 weeks, but it costs her a small fortune, (£65 + tips), every time! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

You have great hair. This looks so beautiful on you. I am 4 months growing mine out. I am not putting any chemicals on my hair at this point. My hair is a natural dark brown. And the gray growing out looks similar in color to your hair. I have my fingers crossed that it will look similar to what you have going on with your hair. Because yours is turning out really beautiful. Thank so much for your videos. I really enjoy your knowledge on makeup and face creams. Your hair is so lovely
